They "came to an understanding" with a small portion of the enemy, and wiped out most of the rest (or so it seemed). Pretty sure they killed Grace in Frontier instead of getting her to come to an understanding. Isamu was "cleaning out" Zentran rebels in Plus. So violence is a means to an end in much of Macross. Accept our culture or die. Good stuff.

The Bandai HMR color scheme are canon from episode 27 Love Flows By (final battle against the Bodol fleet). At the time the entirety of humanity was on board the Macross so the super packs were likely custom tailored to their valkyries. However in episode 30, Viva Milia, they launch their valkyries from Earth without super packs (using booster rockets). Once in space they have the standard green packs attached like all the other valkyries. Maybe Yamato (and now Arcadia) was splitting the difference? These don't match the show at all really (except the solid colored leg armor in the lazy-colored battroid back-to-back shot above). Bandai screwed up by not making TV arm armors, dumb, would have been simple. Regardless I don't care, I'll be buying these.

Hey, question...does NY charge more for shipping regularly than amiami? I've noticed that preorder prices are typically 10% lower at NY than amiami. I've been happy with both, just curious if NY is making up some of the cost in shipping.

The company that's really losing out here is Big West (on new profits, not existing). If the bootlegs are released 6+ months after the original release, Arcadia are not losing profits unless people neglect the originals in favor of the boots (which I don't think affects us too much, we're pretty loyal...we want Arcadia to keep producing new toys). Also if the quality is crap they will only be customization fodder. Now if Arcadia decide to produce M&M's in 2 years, yes, this would definitely hurt them in terms of future profits. But at this point it doesn't appear they're going to do that. Arcadia has release the Roy and Hikaru VF-1S's twice in a row now, correct? I don't know how the Arcadia's production number compare to Yamato's, but the price point on VF-1's is nearly double. I will buy all. Mandarake is my only option for V2 VF-1's and I'm not spending $300 USD for old toys. I have a bootleg Buster prime and it's awesome. I got it because Hasbro didn't make the silver-accented prime in the US and both the Hasbro and Takara are too pricey (not like they're losing out on profits those runs are long out of print).

This news is very interesting. I started buying NEW Arcadia toys in 2016 (got the YF-19/VF-4/Roy's VF-1S) and I will be getting the Hikaru VF-1S next month. But I would buy the boots if the quality is decent ALSO...at a reduced price. I would have gotten the VF-0S and armor but the QC problems are very concerning from the 0D and 0A. Plus that thing was effin 'SPENSIVE at $300+ USD. And I was broke when HLJ had that sale that got rid of all their VF-0S. I would get older Arcadia releases (GBP-1S/VF-0s) but the availability is very low and they're expensive on the secondary market (telling me Arcadia under-produced them). So in a way the boots can help fill gaps Arcadia is unwilling to unable to fill.

That picture is FUGLY. The booms are about 1/2 the scale they should be. Everything to the rear of them looks okay though. Hopefully this is some sort of placeholder.
