Even the missus admitted that this would not be a waste of money..... I'm counting the days till that lovely box drops onto the doorstep.

Anyway, thanks to Einar, here is the new, and the improved Mongrol. I've been working on outline shading today, to mute him and bring him into line with his mucky little buddy, Ro Jaws... He's working up nicely, and should look grand when finished... Before And after today's work.

Baddum-tisch!

Here is a message from the missus: "Modelling is often wholly tolerated by the informed Wife, as it keeps husbands glued to the home for extended periods of time"

They are, and this beauty is going to put the willies up anyone who walks into my place. Like a Mecha John Wayne.

The prices are indeed getting a bit mad. Yuka is holding onto the ones which were returned to the shop by disgruntled fans, and plans to clean up in a few weeks/months when Rakuten Auctions ot Yahoo have reached their peak. There are still bargains to be had, especially on Rakuten - and an increasing number of vendors there are willing to ship internationally, unlike Yahoo.

Another one from here.

I missed out on these - I was in a bit of a strop about how much of a turkey the film was - but I wish I'd picked one up when I could. They look fabulous. You lucky git!

I have some wine chilling, a weekend at the Kabuki all planned. A long onsen treatment and some Takarazuka tickets. Once the miracles of food and massage have palliated Her Indoors, I think I might be able to slip this one under the radar without risking surgical mutilation. Mind you, it might be just worth it to sing castrato for the rest of my life to have that dominating the office.

That looks bloody lovely! I'm a real sucker for the Falcon, and that one looks right on... However, I have to say that you are doing yourself down, If I could manage weathering like that, I'd be well happy. Still, enough of the ships for the moment. Starting work on a present from the Missus. I could never afford the Tsukuba Nadia kits back in the day, and by the time I had the money they were getting hard to find. Now, however, they are beginning to resurface and this one shows no real signs of decay, even after being sat for twenty five years waiting its time. I love this new airbrush. I've never owned a double-action brush before, and I am finding it very flexible indeed. I only used it on the pantaloons, but I was able to adjust mix as I was going and quickly blend subtle highlights and shadows into the final job. Oh, aye... And some Warhammer as well.

Still no real models to report - meaning Macross - so King George V continues..... Good practice for this new airbrush, and preparation for some large scale SDF-1 action.

:o Take my money. Just shut up, and take my money.

Streams flow into rivers and river to the sea... That's how all the best engineers get their start, Benson; with parents who are receptive to tinkering and not too belligerent about paint on the walls...

He's a busy - and a notoriously private - chap. To get even a few minutes with him is a neato thing. He is pretty laid back though and has demon sense of humour once you get past that reserve...

Them's the very things.

No worries, Kelsian. I'm sure I'll track some down somewhere. As for the scheme, it might make the gorge of a purist rise, but it pleased the missus...

I miss the airbrush.... 'bout time I picked up a replacement and made everything look mucky again...

Been a busy morning... Regult Rescue, complete (bar the lettering which I am too shakey to do - but I am sure I can find some 1/100 decals somewhere). The Mikasa. a Tenshodo model - sold as a finished display item, but I managed to scrounge an unpainted example and give it it's earlier colours (even if the masts and fittings are anachronistic). Finally, transforming a silver grunt Dalek into a swankier officer. This is one of the RC toys from the Peter Cushing movie from the late 60s (released a few years ago, I think by Master Replicas?)

Small World indeed. Rick Newman helped Rick Cowling, Dave Bromehead, Helen McCarthy and I on the AnimeDay Cons and founded the Shef University anime club with the lads and I. He's still about, and still batty about Macross. And yes, last time I went back to the UK the Space Centre was still there, with the same staff (Dave, Rick, Colin, Jim and Lol) serving the same goodness to all Frothers. Edit: Looking over my Uncle's stuff and those early days, I was only recently drawn to how much the Space Centre sparked the inferno in the UK...
