That's what I was thinking too, but with the sale and everyone saying its a solid toy I decided to spring for it. Color scheme not so much but you are right it is well built.
I don't doubt it seeing your collection pics! Lol. I think V2 1/48's would be awesome but since the current V2 VF-1 1/60's go for the price 1/48's did back in 2002 then the 1/48 V2's would be pricey. Not that it would stop us from buying them.
Did anyone else notice that a lot of Yamato VF-1's are now disc and removed like the Hikaru VF-1J and the Roy VF-1S. It seems that there is only 4 VF-1A's left 1 dyrl cf and Kakizaki dyrl, dyrl weathered and the tv version. If your a Kakizaki fan then it's wide open.
I too have a lot of 1/55's with extras that I would mod but I never got around to it. With the 1/48's and V2 1/60's coming out I don't need to mod my old 1/55's so I have about 5 extra valks sitting in the closet taking space. I would one day like to mod them since I still love 1/55's also.
Mine was a gift from my wife back in 2009 during hard times. I can't get the renewal for that one because my wife will kill me. Having said that It looks great. I don't transform it much but it looks cool on the shelf.
