  1. Ah thats very clever...unfolding backpack or not eh....i had always tot with the arms tucked in the backpack would also unfold... 3 modes with gerwalk it is! we been doing it wrong getting just 3 copies! LOLs on the part of the way lever comment! Hmm good thing i ordered 2 then, cos 2 fits in just nicely in the ami box!
  2. Hopefully arcadia will commit to a release date and pricing on the sv-51, in time for next month's winter wonderfest! Any mid-year release would make it abt a year and a half since news abt it passed? Sounds ripe for an announcement at the festival...
  3. echoing spacemanoeuvres!..those rear landing gears are meant to be pushed outwards to the side... other than that epic ride for spidey...
  4. Plus gerwalk has a 2 modes in one! Normal gerwalk or armless gerwalk mode which reminds me of speed skating!! bwahaha.. makes sense since you want to go aerodynamic, from hovering state to speed, whilst maintaining the flexibility of stopping on a whim.... i wonder which lever in the controls retracts the arms tho...hmmm...
  5. Ditto...the world has more than enough politics to sustain itself...not getting political in here...
  6. Hahaha just saw this...so accurate..thats not how the falcon lands! psssh pssh...does your wife also like toys... Also, thats a nice display cabinet! ....Awesome!
  7. Hehe i just posted a pic in the DX thread with the gears down! Those yammie clear stands look cool. Bandai's stand were a throwback to NASA's/USAF(?) flight displays with the arching arm.... And as always yeti's stand are the standard for macross valks!
  8. Take off!
  9. Are you trying to make boxes look sexy now? Mission accomplished! Wish had a nice big lighted hanger like that... its ok ... sometimes better not to draw to much attention to my toys in the household to avoid unnecessary questions...if you know what i mean...
  10. And on the arm tabs front i went from this... to this.... to finally this.. Initially i thought it was the way the arms leaned inwards or outwards that could be the cause of the fit to the tabs hanging downwards from the fuselage. That worked somewhat, but also gave gaps in between the arms. Had tot that the gunpod would counteract this somehow, but it didn't. I then worked the arms from the front. And due to the sliding mechanism, the arms were pushed backwards. (All this while i had already secured my gunpod) So it occurred to me perhaps the tabs weren't biting, not because of the arm rotation but because of the exact positioning of the tab holes on the arms with reference to the tabs hanging down. so i tried to get the arms tabbed as before, but as a final act, adjusted the position of the arms on the slider, and lo and behold, it held like the final picture with no gaps or sagging! Am not sure if this solves the annoyance, and also i don't know how long it will hold. Although leaving it alone now, after swooshing it mildy ..it seems ok! Long term though, perhaps coating the tabs will help it stay tighter...cant imagine what time will affect it since its basically a vertical tab fighting gravity....
  11. Probably be down to the toothpaste trick again to get rid of seam lines in clear canopies....but gee whiz...i dont have the time to do any of that...
  12. haha couldnt resist this ...just for today... keep on posting noel!
  13. that made me chuckle... yes! but am learning to tune it out!
  14. Just note, for bandai DX the Vf-1 and parts will come separately. That is how bandai planned it for now.
  15. Now that’s premium! Arcadia could up the macross ante and take on bandai by magnetizing everything..
  16. If money is no object, then have a look at Arcadia’s premium finish focker for the ultimate tampo printed 1/60 valk. bandai’s new DX is at a larger 1/48 scale, so you might want to take that into consideration if you are still collecting. Since it’s new, the focus is on Hikaru, but expectation is that Focker will also be in the pipeline.
  17. magnetized intakes. if not mistaken, he applied magnets on the top inside of the intake covers...
  18. I think everyone has been guilty of that at one point or the other!
  19. Hmmm will try it once i start transforming my copy. On the surface it sounds like the arms must be "precisely" aligned to avoid unnecessary force popping itself out. Maybe some massaging will help. (On the valk, not me.) Will try it later. (transforming valk, not massaging)

    Bandai DX VF-31

    Down the rabbit hole!
  23. Wow i guess the 1/48 head gimmick wasn't the only valk to have it! Tho i think the 1/48 head recesses more and then pop's out a fair bit, so that's something... Hehe i almost posted the same pic of the 2 in ami's box! Roy would be great! Hopefully its being planned for a release this year! Thanks for the pics...perhaps some future clear coating would add more friction to the tabs...

MacrossxBandai got us good! I have 4 valks so far and chucky would make it 5 with arad 31A a potential 6...gah and to think i told myself max it at 3...
