You want to frame them with UV plexiglass.

Need to see the show first before deciding on another statue version. Pose with the hand on hip seems dull but statue looks good.

Or had removable clothing considering what sells these days in Japan. I don't know why with the anniversary we don't have quality statues of the original Macross characters.
-
That looks pretty good. I guess this is basically a 4 part OVA / mini series type. I wish they did something so we could get this here at the same time.

Did you check all the major dealers? Perhaps any higher end dealers? A few high priced cels are on Yahoo Japan. I assume there should be a few in stores somewhere.

I hope more news is coming soon about this name change. So much more stuff to make. Still no DYRL battle damaged VF-1S Max version. No high quality Minmay or Misa statues. Or the Bridge girls for that matter. No Rook Cyclone/Ride Armor. The list goes on and on.

I like how the vehicles group together for the teams. But I really hated that Voltron toy. I sold it a while back for a decent amount. It was always moving around because of the trucks. Really flimsy compared to the Lion Voltron.

Strange that they would change their name when they have become known for making a lot of good toys and statues. Were they having financial problems or something?

That's a cute phone. I have one of the Macross Frontier SMS straps that I keep in my bag to attach stuff for extra security.

I guess I should check Mandarake more. Were these in the auction section?

Awesome artwork. Makes me want that Rook Ride Armor even more. Aren't we supposed to be hearing what that big Mospeada item is around now?

It might be bad around here. But a friend of mine tried to win a big promotional/advertisement cel from Robotech: The Sentinels. It was on eBay a week or so ago. He didn't get it but it went for $1000+.

Even Tron Legacy's one line from Flynn about Tron's new look was a better emotional reaction to a character's physical change than we received in Star Wars IV. I read a post once that someone said Episode III felt like a corporate movie. That they cut every corner to get the movie made and barely match the events of the OT. I tend to agree. It could and should have been a powerful moment in the Episode III when Obi-Wan sees what The Emperor did to Anakin to keep him alive. Especially since General Grevious was introduced in the story. To have Vader (in a scary moment) go after the Jedi and try to get Padme and the children. To have him use all that anger after what occurred and the large number of troops to kill the Jedi. All the elements of the story were in the original movies. George Lucas chose not to follow them. I believe after he finished Episode III he didn't even watch all the movies together. At least that's what he said in one interview. I wonder if he has yet? It wouldn't surprise me if he likes the prequels more than the originals. Just as Abrams couldn't resist rebooting Star Trek with Kirk. I don't think he will be able to resist having a Star Wars movie without a member of the Skywalkers. I hope we get a kick ass female Skywalker Jedi lead this time around. Well, seeing the ghost of Obi-Wan and Anakin together at the end of Return of the Jedi would be against your theory of Obi-Wan's attachment dying. I was thinking about that Padme lost the will to live scene again. I remembered a scene in the Star Trek Original TV show. At the end of one episode, Kirk is so distraught over the loss of a woman he loves that Spock has to use a Vulcan mind thing on him to make him forget. So this isn't so far fetched.

I didn't buy the Star Wars Blu-rays or Special Edition DVDs because of the edits either. I just can't support this sort of thing. I saw the clips on youtube and it's obvious. The stepping on head edit looks like a modern technique as I assume they don't use it anywhere else in the movie.

Darth Vader essentially becomes a chump in the prequels. I thought Vader was a bad ass and scary in the originals. Having him be Vader and look like Anakin and then not lead any Stormtroopers into battle other than that sad (as in poorly done) scene in the Jedi Temple was probably the second or third biggest mistake in Episode III. The whole turn to the dark side was handled poorly. I get what Lucas was thinking. That Anakin was "prepping" and did all this other stuff. But killing Jedi children (sorry younglings) is like killing yourself. There is no redemption for that sort of thing. A lot of people think Episode III is the best one. I tend to agree with Red Letter Media that it's just as bad if not the worst one. Going by Return of the Jedi, originally my thinking was that Anakin was expelled from the Jedi or left with Padme. The Jedi asked him to come back to help fight the Sith. Anakin attempted to fight the Emperor alone. The Emperor was able to use his anger against him and turn him to the Dark Side. Just like Yoda's words to Luke warning him of the Emperor's powers. That there is more to him than lightsaber stuff. If you've ever been angry. Really angry to the point of snapping. That's when the Emperor could control you. It always bothered me how Luke tossed his lightsaber against the Emperor. But this is how I see it now as Luke's anger was boiling over. Yoda never should have faught the Emperor by the way. He should have stayed on Dagobah to wait for Luke while trapping whatever Dark Force was on the planet. I don't have as much of a problem with this even though it goes against the originals. Even though Padme is a strong woman, having the person you see as the most special person in the world. The guy you love. The person that gave you children. Not only turn to this Dark Side. Which is pretty much pure evil. To have him be a part of killing children and the political nonsense. And for him to attempt to kill you. To then know he's dead and you'll have to raise the children without him. That's enough to break a good person and lose the will to live. Yeah, this is one of the obvious mess ups in the prequel to original trilogy. From what I've heard of the new Special Edition Blu-rays (I don't own them), Lucas tried to re-edit this scene. But it's still messed up that he tried to change this clear as day scene with Luke and Leia.

Tempting. I just can't support this edit. I think that company is ok. I recall seeing a few deals from them before.

True Koto did change a few things from the prototype to the released statue. She had nip action and a few other things if I remember correctly. I think I still have the images saved. But the statue is still cool. It's the perfect companion piece to the Jim Lee X-Men #1 gatefold cover and the Capcom X-Men Children of the Atom fighting game. I think Koto might revisit Psylocke for their X-Force line up. That would make three Psylocke statues in my collection then. I have the Sideshow Mark Brooks statue which is cool. She looks more realistic in that version. The Sideshow PF could be modded into a good statue but I can't pay the price they want for all the paint problems that are mentioned on the various forums.

Does anyone have any information about the 1000 Editions version of this Motoko image? I thought that there were only 1000 editions printed but I think it's the company name. I have this one and I vaguely remember two other prints. I need to get another copy as mine was framed incorrectly by a fly by night framer. Edit - For some reason the image isn't showing up in the quote. You have to click it.

Who made this? Is it a touched up version of the metallic motoslave? Yeah, I want statues not figures of the Dirty Pair. It's a shame all these vintage anime characters aren't getting statues. At least not yet. You would think there would be a market for them since people who watched these shows are older now. This was a good Jim Lee design. But I think the closest we will get to this character is the Kotobukiya Fine Art Psylocke Danger Room Sessions statue. She's the best Jim Lee Psylocke statue and goes for a lot these days. And that's if you can find her without the broken sword problem.

James Cameron is one of the few directors you can point to as an artist. I'm sure he could make an awesome Star Wars movie if he wanted to. No problems with small cameos or roles with Abrams favorite actors. They are actors who can play a part. And Keri Russell is pretty. For some strange reason I had a dream with her in it once and I've only seen her in Mission: Impossible III. I can't remember it now but I'm sure I noted it in my dream notebook. And rarely if ever do I have dreams with real or fantasy characters. I've only had one Star Wars dream and that was 6 to 7 years before the prequels. And I remember the Jedi having the fast lightsaber battles in my dream too. In one of the extras. I think it's Episode III. George Lucas is walking around looking at the set progress or designs. And he jokes that he should finish the script. Maybe it's just me but I think a script or story should be finished before a movie starts production. I think just about every Star Wars fan thought these movies would be better and different than what we received. And most could make a better story too. Just a short scene that I imagined without writing a whole treatment on it. I thought Obi-Wan would rescue or take Padme from the hospital (or wherever) just as Anakin (as Vader) was raiding it with the stormtroopers. Obi-Wan would see Anakin as Vader so it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to him in Episode IV. Also, Padme would see Anakin and always be sad at what happened to the person she loves. Don't get me started on Obi-Wan's speech to Luke on Dagobah in Return of the Jedi and how I would tell Anakin's story vs the Emperor. I'm starting to feel that strong disappointment come back from the prequels and I thought I forgot about them. Yeah, this is but one of the problems with the prequels. George Lucas not paying attention to the story of the originals. And characters in the originals saying things that make no sense in the context of what we know of the prequel movies.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
JetJockey replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I really want the Iron Man MKII silver suit. The Hot Toys one didn't do it for me. Maybe with the diecast, it will this time around. Though I wish Sideshow would make a statue version of it. They did work with the effects company on a few of their Iron Man statues.
