    Thinking about it, I remember a few character designs in the Dangaio books that didn't make it to the anime. I think there were a few mangas in those books too. But I couldn't read or understand any Japanese back then. I'm going to look at that stuff one day. I remember seeing Dangaio originally on some bootleg VHS. To say it was grainy is putting it lightly. It was probably with DYRL, Saint Seiya, and something else. I might even have those bootlegs somewhere...By the way, Saint Seiya still has an awesome OP.

    But hot anime girls in swimsuits no matter the weather conditions! I love the episode 2 scene in the snow. I almost got a cel of Pai with her running in the snow. I still look for good cels of the characters and ships. There have been a bunch of good sketches on Yahoo Japan in the last month or so going for surprisingly low amounts. I'll post them if people didn't see them. I haven't labelled them yet. I remember reading about the DVD and Manga combining I believe Episodes 1 & 2 into one Episode or something. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I still have my VHS tapes too. Those and Gunbuster. I think I read about an alteration on Gunbuster as well with some music. But I think the fairly recent Japanese box set is supposed to be ok in regards to the music. I couldn't believe the price on this and especially the size. Far too much considering what Yamato was producing with the valkyries. And it's not perfect to me. Thinking about it, I still can't believe we don't have a new series to that major cliffhanger ending. That was and still is one of the saddest moments in anime for me. I believe I have a few Dangaio books and the soundtrack around here. It was a really well animated anime. I need a good cel from it but haven't found one to my liking yet.

    I know. This is what Toynami does with their money. Re-release a light up version of the same toy with a new base and most likely non-functioning key. The very definition of lazy. They could have paid for and released that Rook Cyclone. But that would be some thing a real company that actually liked anime would do. I think I had one of those. It had the castle too.     Dragon's Crown! They are not just making one Sorceress but another company is making a version just like the artwork. I can't see myself getting two Sorceress figures. But you never know. This first one is hot without going too far. Also, most of the other girl characters will get figures.

    The article on Anime News Network states that the American release "will have the imported Japanese O-card, film strip, and an English-translated art booklet." However, on RightStuf they don't show a film strip and the booklet looks really slim. Perhaps, I'll just wait for that complete release or dub since the Ghost in the Shell dubs are actually really good to me.

    Cool thanks. I'm going to watch the show and probably get that big ship. Having all the other small vehicles be able to link up is just too cool.

    Anyone have the Japanese Blu-ray? Funimation is releasing a limited version of that here in the States. I want to know if the extras are worth it or should I just wait for the complete release.

    Same here. But at least it's just a comic. I remember a Star Trek/X-Men crossover comic back in the 90s I believe. I still think Robotech is good but I grew up with it. But what is happening behind the scenes not letting the new Macross stuff come out over here is a crime. I pretty much won't buy anything Robotech (except a Robotech series Blu-ray) until the situation is fixed.

    Valkyrie Hunter D - Did stickers come with the big ship toy? I was looking at the images and considering putting it on my list to find. I hope someone releases the complete series on DVD/Blu-ray over here one day...

    This looks equally as bad as the live action. Who is making this stuff? People who haven't seen modern American superhero movies? Gatchaman could be awesome. You have movies like Iron Man, Avengers, Incredibles, and others that get the whole sci-fi hero/team against large scale enemies. But with these new Gatchaman projects it seems like they are going in the wrong direction.

    There are a few good Matty Collector Voltron reviews on youtube that really show what a mess the new toy is. I thought they were funny. I think one is by RetroBlasting and the other CollectionDX. It's time for a real modern Voltron toy/model whatever you want to call it. Even if they have to make it non-transformable just to get the Lions and proportions right. That way people who want the Lions can get those. Or people who want Voltron can get him. Honestly, I always displayed my Voltron as the Lions.

    I have that on VHS some where around here. Maybe I'll dig it up and give it another shot. If I remember correctly it was a Terminator type anime. I haven't watched it since I got it some time in the late 80s or early 90s. Whenever the anime was released.

    I was wondering if anyone found some cel dealers at Anime Expo. I saw the companies on Anime Expo's site but it doesn't break down who sells what.

    I'm waiting to see if Kotobukiya decides to show an Uncanny X-Force 2nd suit variant at Comic Con before deciding on this Psylocke. But she's an easy purchase. I think the Batgirl and Huntress figures are better than this Wonder Woman sculpt. I think the overly anime face put me off this Wonder Woman. The masks on Batgirl and Huntress probably help a lot. But they are beautiful companion pieces. I can't wait to see the finished version of Black Canary soon.

    I can't see why these would be simple upscans seeing as restored versions were released in Japan. But I didn't read reviews of the Japanese release. I think it was very expensive. The article says that the OVA is included. But the Jun scene has a bunch of light effects if I remember correctly. I didn't know. I'll probably get it for Christmas.

    I think a new normal Tachikoma is coming out too. There was a quick shot of an ad in a video in the anime figures topic.

    Disaster incoming. I'll stick to the original and OVA for Gatchaman. Those short TV ads were cool too.

    Same here. Seems like companies are sticking to the easy route with Voltron. But SDCC is coming up. Maybe there will be a Voltron surprise.

    I really wish companies would use higher quality plastic to prevent this yellowing thing. It's random too. Some toys get it quick. Some don't. I've seen it on old SNES systems too.

    I'm not really feeling this new show. It's only 8 or so minutes. But the original SAC and 2nd Gig and even Solid State Society had me hooked on the first few minutes. The younger Motoko is odd. I'm not sure of the time line on this but there was that Poker Face episode in 2nd Gig I think with Saito. This seems even way before that episode. And the new OP is really boring.

    For the new Superman/Man of Steel, the Sideshow PF beats the Hot Toys figure this time around. I've yet to see the Superman statue/figure to get. Depending on the movie I might get the Sideshow PF. Not sure yet.

    I thought for a second this was from Dragon's Crown. Not yet I guess. There is a quick shot of what looks to be a sign showing a new Tachikoma coming out soon. I was about to get the Revoltech version. I guess I'll wait a while.

    In theory if Microsoft actually changed the Surface/Windows OS interface and design to match the in anime appearance. That would be cool and I would get one. But I know they won't. And this is simply a look what they are using type of tie in.

    I vaguely remember reading about that here or somewhere else. I think I commented that the people doing it wouldn't have the money/resources to do it correctly. But I do recall one of the animators on the first Spider-Man movie being involved, I think. Not sure anymore. But BGC would be awesome if handled correctly.

    Wow. I never knew there were this many Zillion toys. I vaguely remember seeing I think the bike on Yahoo Japan auctions. Never the big plane toy. Plus it has attaching vehicles! I love the SEGA videogames. The first one was really good. I can't remember the second that much. I have both on my list to get again. Along with the anime. I only have one episode VHS tape and Burning Night. And that episode tape doesn't even start with episode 1. I'm positive the full run wasn't released over here. I'm still looking for cels from Zillion too. I rarely see them. Especially good ones. I do still have a few Zillion posters rolled away somewhere. I have the soundtrack too.
