Hmm. Decisions to make. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/madoverlord/195531049?ref=8rt0sh&token=31a1a1a2 Is it just me, or do others not like Mikimoto's new art style that much? I see someone posted about it on Animeigo's twitter.

People couldn't speak about Stealth here because it was so bad? I think I still have a few Stealth images saved. I remember thinking that the movie should be good. I know I have a shot of the futuristic jet on an aircraft carrier. I'll check and see. But I was pretty surprised in how bad it was. That the movie after all those years couldn't come close to being as good as Top Gun.

I remember posting about that Saraliso seller and the Minmay Flashback cel. I see that the Yahoo Japan auction with Misa and the sketches are now on ebay as well. I guess I didn't notice that the Hikaru movie sketch was damaged from the Yahoo Japan auction. That was an expensive lot. But I guess they are keeping that Hikaru and Misa in valkyrie TV sketch and a few other pieces for themselves. I guess we'll see if breaking up these pieces and selling them separately over here really works. But the Max cel did have some of the background on the cel itself which to me is almost an good as having a background. And didn't that storyboard have some original sketches and drawings? That's probably why it went for so much. And it was the final episode.

Legendary Axe was pretty much the filled out home game version of Jungle Hunt / Jungle King to me. I remember watching one of the original commericals with the game and seeing the final boss, that I didn't know at the time, and thinking that you have to fight that? I think the final boss was one of the original large screen bosses that surprised me back then. Actually, I can't remember finishing Legendary Axe 2. I know I got to the last boss and had trouble with him. I remember another reason I wasn't too fond of it was because it didn't have that jungle setting and the game had a darker theme. I do remember liking that first stage music and a few other tracks. But I prefer pretty much everything about the original game over the sequel. But I'll go back and play them again one day. I know I still own both of them. Yeah Bloodstained showed up today. I don't know if I should be pleased or shocked that they shipped it in a box that says Fangamer and Bloodstained. But I'm keeping that box as part of the overall package. I haven't played the 8-bit game yet. I might wait for the complete package in August before getting started on all of it. But I'm happy that it's here. Also that Ayami Kojima artwork is pretty good. And we are getting a poster of it too which is cool.

I would put Legendary Axe up there with some of the best 2D games ever. It's that good to me. I didn't care for the sequel that much though. I'm not sure they could put anything on the system that I would want that I don't already have. HappyConsoleGamer mentioned some unreleased in the United States titles. If they do that then I would get it.

This movie is a shockingly bad piece of crap. I think Jessica Biel bouncing up and down on that workout ball was the best part and we all know why that scene was included.

I guess we can use this Skull leader valkyrie TV cel on Mandarake to see if more people bid on that versus the Max TV cel that ended on Yahoo Japan. Both are good cels with backgrounds. I have a feeling that the Skull leader cel will go for more than the Max one. But we'll see soon. https://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemInfoEn.html?index=607657

You know what the coolest thing about Final Fantasy 7 was to me back then? I only played the original Final Fantasy on NES. I don't know why I didn't play the SNES and other games. But when I heard about Final Fantasy 7 on PlayStation, I thought it was a good time to get back into the series. I had only seen a picture of the big tech city. So when I started playing the game, I thought that huge city would be the game's area. I was shocked that you get to leave the city and you have a whole world to explore.

Apparently another reason to stop supporting video game Kickstarters is going on with Shenmue 3. I'm not a big fan of having a digital release when I can get a physical copy. But people thought the game would be on Steam but now it's going to the Epic Store as an exclusive instead. So far no refunds. https://www.resetera.com/threads/shenmue-iii-is-timed-exclusive-to-epic-games-store-backers-pc-code-redeemed-on-egs-no-refund-see-threadmark-read-staff-posts-before-posting.122218/ It's almost comical that two of the biggest and popular video game Kickstarters are really attempting to make sure if they have to go back to Kickstarter they won't get the same amount of interest as they did the first time around. On the positive side, I got my Bloodstained ship notice. So hopefully they will ship Friday given that the Post Office First Class or Priority Mail is in the 2 to 3 day range.

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
JetJockey replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That might be the best replica I've seen of the ship. I know Hot Toys teased a 1/6 cockpit. I know another company that I can't remember fairly recently showed a scale version that I think was a cutaway or something clever. Master Replicas made one too. -
I don't know why but I think I had the larger purple crab when I was a kid. I would get Sera's mech if they made it today. That shouldn't be too difficult.

Anyone seen any good Voltron cels? There are three good ones at Mandarake near the end of this video from almost 10 years ago.

Bloodstained street date broken a week early. https://www.resetera.com/threads/looks-like-bloodstained-is-already-being-sold-early-by-retailers-at-least-one-confirmed-selling-ps4-xbox-one-versions.122241/ People really need to stop calling people that put money on Kickstarters "backers." What they really are, are early investors. That is what you call a person that helps fund and start a project. I know the management of larger scale shipping most likely got these early copies to this retailer. But still the "backers" / investors should have these copies now. Or at best in the next few days before the release date next Tuesday. It's bad enough that they can't figure out how to get all the physical stuff to us at the same time. They are wasting their money doing multiple shipments. But then the money is probably coming from the general release anyway. They did say they are working on a large day 1 patch for the game. So whoever is playing the game now is playing something that might not be fully complete. And I hate stuff like that as I like complete games that don't need patches. This whole situation is why I won't do Kickstarters for video games anymore. But we'll see what surprises are in store on Thursday. Hopefully they will show the signed collector's boxes.

The background didn't sell the first time around so I guess everyone believes it is suspect. And probably not just too expensive seeing what some of the sketches and other stuff sold for recently.

I'm not an expert on Godzilla or big monster movies. I vaguely remember enjoying them when I was a kid. And because of that Godzilla and King Kong are pretty iconic. But I don't need to see them fight no more than I needed to see Batman fight Superman. I did see the last American Godzilla movie and it was ok. Not really worth owning. But entertaining for the giant monster stuff and a bit scary at times. I thought Godzilla should have been stronger. For that reason, I'm not really looking forward to the next movie or series except for the visuals. I saw a picture of a flying dragon that looked really good.

I would go for this one if it's the real deal over that Macross II one. https://www.rinkya.com/en/auction-w316817506 It's about to end and no one is bidding yet. Buy it now option as well. Can't beat a one of a kind DYRL background.

Anyone fund the R-Type Kickstarter? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/granzella/r-type-final-2-aiming-for-a-brand-new-the-best-shmup-ever I'm glad this was funded but I'm not a part of this one. It's the sort of Kickstarter that doesn't offer anything extra of real interest to get me to put in money. And I think I'm done with video game Kickstarters after Bloodstained. Also it doesn't seem to be pulling in a lot of money so I hope they have a good company behind them. Speaking of Bloodstained, they finally showed a few items. The Bloodstained exclusive slipcase looks better than the steelbook to me. But I made those kind of drawings on black paper a lot in art class. Also, I can't believe they didn't or don't understand the difference between sleeve and slipcase though. As the "slipcase" image looks like a sleeve which some on Kickstarter are talking about. Although not all slipcases are high quality. The Macross Gold Book slipcase isn't the highest quality. I've seen many DVD / Blu-ray sleeves that are better quality than that Gold Book slipcase. Still I like what I'm seeing. Also, I think I might frame the t-shirt for display like sports jerseys if the character is cool enough in the game. They claim that the physical kickstarter items won't be sold so that's a good thing. I'm looking forward to this week's update on more of the bonus items.

Thanks. I didn't know about that. But the scale is a bit small. Strange that they tried that on a smaller level but not on the bigger version.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures

Sideshow Collectibles could make an awesome Infinity War Iron Man but I doubt they would pay the factory enough to get it to fans like the prototype. I think they have given up on Marvel film statues. Their last movie Captain America was pretty bad. You really are getting all the Avengers from every movie? I thought Budget Stark had the most complete collection and he just focused on Iron Man. -
I think there are individuals or perhaps even small companies or groups that are taking advantage of online companies that are unwilling to use methods that would stop bot purchases. Then of course flipping their wins on ebay and other auction sites via various different accounts. The way pre-orders happened last night was way too fast. Just like with Mondo posters and popular things I've read about like concerts, restaurants, shoes, and other similar items. They all sell out way too fast for a human going through the methods. Plus carting an item with the majority of these sites doesn't mean sold which makes it even worse. And if a normal person gets the purchase order they were just very lucky in refreshing at the right time and having a few things preset like address or a copied credit card number to paste in a field. The problem is with the companies that allow this sort of thing. Either fix the system so bots won't work. Or have your pre-order be an actual pre-order without a set amount of inventory. That will get rid of the flippers fast if not immediately. As I can assure you that few flippers go after Mondo and other gallery posters when they see "Timed Edition" on posters and everyone who wants one can get one. Few fans will put up with this sold out pre-order nonsense forever.

I forgot about a small Misa figure because I still want Kids Logic to make a Misa figure for their cockpit line of replicas.

That's hilarious. I've never seen this cartoon before. I wonder what happened as I never had a problem getting Yamato VF-1 versions back in the day. Ebay was around too.

Those prices from back then always crack me up. Still I love seeing this old stuff. New month, I wonder if we'll see some good cels?

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
JetJockey replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I still haven't seen those Alien short films. Hopefully they are really good to wash out the garbage of The Predator. I don't know if anyone posted this amazing collection here. -
So I guess people are running bots on these sites like Mondo posters?
