  1. Finally had a chance to catch up... amazing last 2 eps... so much tension without any need for action. Love it. For me the next 6 weeks will come too quickly cuz then it'll be over!
  2. The con is a one day event... we use to do two, but with the bigger venue this year, we should be able to contain everything in one day. MacrossWorld Con isn't like other cons. It's not big like AX, it's only one line of shows after all. It's not a dealers room like F&S, though we'll have more room for dealers this year. It's more of an intimate type get together. Even though it's gotten way bigger than when we started out, I think this is still how new people describe it... It's part stage show, part toys and model and private collection displays, part contests and game show and one giant meet and greet for macross and other anime fans...
  3. I tried it. For some reason it didn't take as well as I hoped. Dying that ABS black turned it into CF Brown... at least I know how to make more CFs. lol.
  4. Alright... here's the plan... we find out who has the prototype... break in... take the engine! Recast! and put it right back where it belongs and no one will ever notice! Ninjas ready!
  5. The engine matches Fuke's also... not the Mospeadas.
  6. I'd want Mia Sara in a gothic black dress. Wait! It had that too. +1 for Legend.
  7. Because that's his preferred scale and there's only the ARMDs?
  8. T-Rex is a group. Arcadia YF-19 is their engineering too. Also working on Don Figueroa's Armarauders.
  9. Did you mean 1/2500?
  10. Hey Phill. Gonna be in Baltimore for Otakon.
  11. I don't have the book but according to jefuemon's review... there's plenty of realistic images and tech data... http://www.macrossworld.com/4469/vf-modeling-manual/
  12. Master File is a publication of books (mooks? magazine/books) released by GA Graphics and the modeling manual is one of few Macross ones. There's been some based on different VF's. http://www.macrossworld.com/2665/ga-graphic-website-to-shut-down-july-31-2012/ http://masterfileblog.jp/
  13. Wow! Awesome! head sculpt by Yulli... mmm Yulli they should make a Hot Toys figure of you....
  14. Agreed... why doesn't anyone talk to Alex Ross? He's a great artist but he also understands the universe that these superheroes live in. Zack Snyder talking to Frank Miller is all just for hype, which is all his movies are.
  15. I'm not an expert on historical based Japanese dramas and how the their handled in Japanese media, so this isn't a counter point. What you're saying is probably totally true. But using Shogun Assassin as an example... SA is a story based on a manga and 47 Ronin is a legend based on a true event in Japanese history (right?). People still visit the grave site where the bodies are suppose to be buried as shown in Peter's post. I do think there's room for fantasy made from historical events, I think what's jarring here is the fact that Hollywood did what Hollywood is really famous for doing. Yeah, it's expected and usually made fun of, but we still get dumbfounded when they actually announce it.
  16. I think the scale is mismatched if you've only seen the movie versions of these characters. But in the more well written books, Bruce Wayne is smart enough to draw Superman into his ground when he needs to. He smart enough to know that he can't beat Superman, so he either doesn't screw with him but as a last resort he'll bring Clark to a place and situation where he can never win. Luthor works the same way. If Luthor can be a formidable foe, then why can't Bruce? He knows more about Superman than Lex. In a world without Superman, if a Kryptonian ever attacks the Earth, Bruce will be the one that takes him down.... even if he has to use or sacrifice the whole Justice League to do it. On the other hand, Superman knows exactly what Batman is doing and he'll try to beat Bruce without hurting him... The most predictable outcome from these fights is that Bruce is always right and Superman has to calm down and they end up teaming up, just like every other Superhero team ups. I think the best one is Dark Knight Returns where Bruce finally does defeat Superman (with the help of Green Arrow). But also check out World's Finest: Batman/Superman Movie. It's a Paul Dini written animated movie. The beginning is fun when both Batman and Superman are trying to figure each other out. (that's the one knight26 is talking about)
  17. That serious look...
  18. The only good clear printer I've seen is the Objet Veroclear Printed by the Objet Eden. Good stuff but super expensive. A new canopy for a 1/48 VF-1 is probably around $80 to $90 range. Shapeways has a material called Frosted Ultra Detail. I has a brown tint and isn't clear even if you polish it up. Also not a very strong material. It's one of their more expensive stuff too.
  19. VF-22 better built. SV-51 is a floppy mess.
  20. Ever since they announced the 19 and the 1S, I lost all interest in what happened to Yamato, though I still type and backspace it when I try to type Arcadia... lol.
  21. Haha! Nice titles... ...these are not the 47 Ronin you are looking for... You can go about your business... move along...
  22. Wow... sounds good. I'm really excited about this company. Looking forward to those pics.
  23. That's true, but only because the studios don't bank on asian leading parts/purely asian casts and non A-list actors. They just won't put the money in advertising it. But if you compare Crouching Tiger to Last Samurai... Crouching Tiger is a lot more successful based on percentage of profit domestically (USA). Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was made for $17 million and made $217 million worldwide (13x production budget), 60% of that was domestic. Last Samurai's budget was $140 million and made $456 million (3.25x production), only 25% was domestic. Remember also that CT/HD was released as an arthouse movie released in 16 theaters with barely any ads and wasn't widely released until it showed sellout performances. Last Samurai was released in 3000 theaters in the US and was highly publicized with Tom Cruise's name attached. It's again Hollywood Studio's shortsightedness that keeps stories that have a worldwide appeal from being released with the giant budget it needs.
  24. Wow... looks like Sentinel is setting itself up to be the next big company making mechs. Looks great!
