  1. I'm cutting down on my painting commissions so I can get back on making parts... this is on the top of my priorities too. At first I thought it'd b too expensive but I think Kurisama's way of selling it by parts is the way to go. I also want to sell certain parts in resin so that the sanding won't be such a bitch.
  2. Schtick was what they waned to get rid of in the first place. And it was a good move. The problem with pastiche is that they're already doing it to the Bourne movies and not very well.
  3. Fring was his saviour, but as always Walt's paranoia kills it for him... literally. So was Mike, so was Laura Fraser.... man she so hot in Knight's Tale.
  4. Allergic reaction to people calling my Yamatos Robotech.... lol. It happens everytime.
  5. I was gonna say I'd check out Kinokuniya for you but It would prolly cost just as much to ship from here. You're probably better off getting it from Amazon.jp.
  6. Heisenberg! Gotta love Saul... one of the best things about this show.
  7. LOL! I don't know why you even try... When ever someone says that to me I always just say "Yup! Robotech!" Then they ask me why I'm rolling my eyes to which I reply "allergies..."
  8. Who you talking to? No one there... I'm going back to my SPAM musubi...
  9. DC Reveals New Look for LOBO http://www.newsarama.com/18756-dc-reveals-new-look-for-lobo-s-first-new-52-appearance-in-what-s-new.html
  10. Nice!
  11. How to improve a Toynami MPC Veritech in two steps: 1. Sell it 2. Buy a Yamato v.2/Arcadia 1/60 valk.
  12. Oh that sucks! We'll have small gatherings around the con. Maybe you can make it to one of those, specially if you volunteer to help out before?
  13. And RDJ as Iron Man and remember Heath Ledger's first pic as the Joker? Everyone, including me flipped. But I was wrong on both accounts. I'm on the boat with everyone that thinks they should get rid of Goyer and Snyder though.
  14. Yes... totally agree... Actually I agreed with you from the start, I just wanted to expand on the fact that the 30 year old men isn't a demographic you want to entice with little kid toys ... actually plenty of my friends buy those too but only as a filler to their high end crap... lol.
  15. Yup. It's not even a thing that HG failed at but Mattel and Matchbox also. At least Mattel has Barbie and Matchbox has die cast cars. Those are the guys with disposable income though... Big West and Yamato figured it out in the early 2000s... instead of putting crappy merchandise out there for the masses that don't care for, they concentrated on hardcore fans that wanted high end toys. Sure they didn't perfect it until midway thru the decade but they eventually pulled it off IMO. It helps that one of the heads of Yamato was a discriminating Macross fan, not just a bunch of fan boys that want their ass kissed by other fan boys. If HG had their crap together back when they pulled all that C&D crap back then, they could have had a decent franchise in their hands by now. Instead they chose to regurgitate not only Macross/Mospeada stuff, but all that Sentinels BS that they already said was not canon and kept doing it for another 12 years. You can't foster a anime/mech property without writers, character designers and mech designers... if not you're just doomed to let your property get stale. Even Kawamori was smart enough to bring in Tenjin to give the original series stuff a fresh look.
  16. True... but GI Joe was turned into a cartoon tie-in property in 1985 just like diaclones(1980) and Microman(1974) were turned into Transformers in 1984 after He-Man made a huge splash on TV and toy stores in 1983. In fact, the 1985 G.I. Joe toy line was probably more in spirit with Microman's 3 3/4" figures than the old 12" figures. GI Joe and TF(Hasbro) and Robotech and Voltron(Matchbox) were just the toy companies' way to cash in just like Mattel did with MOTU. Out of those properties, Hasbro was the only company smart enough to keep their lines going... they really don't need the movies to keep making money. They actually can make their own movies with Hasbro Studios.
  17. Didn't work out too well for Thundercats and Voltron. I think there's a difference between keeping the property alive and acting like you're trying to keep it alive. Transformers and GI Joe haven't stopped pumping out toys from the get go. Another property you can compare RT to is the HeMan/MOTUC franchise. That's a property they've been constantly trying to keep alive (legitimately) but the years of dead silence in between each effort really hurts it. They too are waiting for the almighty movie to come and save the property. The recent MOTUC merchandise is pretty close to the way Macross is handled. A very successful toy line in limited release but would die in a mass market. Now they're finishing the line with less than popular characters, kinda like the way Yamato did with the custom paint schemes to milk the mold.
  18. Just wait another 2 months and it'll be a whole new set PLUS a never before recording of someone humming the robotech theme found in some closet they never checked.
