Man of Steel - Superman movie has a director
EXO replied to Mr March's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm not a huge fan of the Avngers either, I thought it was fun and liked it better than Superman... but they are addressing NY in all the the continuations including The TV show. There's some sort of PTSD that gives Tony insomnia after the battle of New York in IM3. But that doesn't count either because it's not within the movie itself... Haven't seen Thor 2.- 442 replies

Man of Steel - Superman movie has a director

Even if you took out all the glaring un-Supermanlike things in this movie and look at the story at it's core, this movie still has no logic what-so-ever. For example, when Clark finds out that Zod and his thugs are at his mom's house he flies there at super sonic speed picks up Zod and proceeds to bash him across Smallville. That's like if you hear that your own mom's house is surrounded by a street gang, and you take their leader and lock them inside your neighbors house and proceed to beat him with every furniture in the house. What about the street gang that's still at your mom's house? Fortunately, that street gang can no longer see their leader so they just decide to climb back into their cars and leave the mom alone. I can honestly say that there's not a lot of this type of illogical things happening, but it's not a really a good thing when all the exposition stuff last like 15 to 20 minutes, but everytime story does intervene in the movie, it's all just nonsensical and you're just sitting there hoping something blows up soon.- 442 replies

Yeah, she looked good with her hair down. I really enjoyed the last 4 episodes but I have to say that I'm not really fond of Korra as the avatar. She screws up and makes more bad decisions than good ones. It makes me wonder how the new Avatar is chosen... I'm guessing Rava finds the next available bender baby on the elements roster that's born as soon as the last Avatar kicks the bucket, if that's true then I can accept the fact that each Avatar is not some sort of chosen one but more of a luck of the draw type thing. She does make me appreciate Ang more, lol. As a whole I enjoyed last season a lot more. Loved the scene where Bolin is fighting in front of the "mover" screen and the announcer couldn't help but comment on the action.

Great pics... just need to fix focus a bit more and add some more light. -
It doesn't break the budget to add small pieces of plastic but it does make the package deal a lot prettier and makes it easier to swallow the price. I'm not sure of the price of plastic anymore, I'm sure it's gone up, but it could be close to an added cost of less than $5 per toy. The higher price is due to higher labor costs, licensing fee, R&D and engineering costs and the much important profit margins. If you listen to the Macross Speaker Pod cast, you can hear Save mention the the rise of costs. And it's not just Macross, look at how other toys have gone up in price. I used to be shocked at how low they used to sell Hot Toys figures with the quality of sculpt and licensing they have to go through, but I think things have finally caught up. A lot of people also compare Macross to TF... Remember, Hasbro and Takara Tomy owns the license to these things and have an exponential amount of customers versus Macross fans. Macross fans in number don't even compare to their 3rd party toys, and they don't worry about licensing. Look at what Toynami is doing with the Voltron 30th Anniversary release. They added the stand that they've avoided selling for a long time just to justify the price hike.

Philip K Dick... Even Bubblegum Crisis was Bladerunner influenced. Priss and the Replicants?

A lot of the modern genre film makers do get their inspirations from Shirow and other manga/anime but a lot of the 70/80s science fiction writers in america, japan and other parts of the world read a lot of science fiction books from authors such as Heinlein and Philip K. Dick. If you read and watch Heavy Metal, there's a ton of shorts that are filled with fantasy and sci-fi. But yeah... Shirow's GiTS set the stage for a lot of the feel of today's cyberpunk tech.

I think it's more of a "this is going to cost a lot no matter what so let's give them as much as we can and make it look like it's worth it" case. And it's probably the same when it comes to the VF-1 with the stand and option parts. But yeah, damned if they did or didn't. At this point though, with the cost of manufacturing going up most people here would be saying "For that much they might have included all the missiles from that book cover" if they didn't. Honestly though. If Yamato had just disappeared, we'd be begging a company like Club-M to make the perfect detail YF-19 non transformable resin kit at this scale and fighting each other to pay 2.5 x more. Yup. That's how I'm justifying it.

I'm getting really tired of people blaming the forums for everyone not agreeing with them. Surprise! People like most of Macross and most Macross merchandise here. You come here and act like you're better than everyone else and say that your interest is better than ours and get irritated that people don't all of a sudden sing you praises? Who's the idiot here? Why don't you go to gun forum and tell everyone there how your collection is better and they're stupid for buying the ones they have and see if things go better for you? Personal insults are not allowed here and since this isn't your first reported complaint then... ban! IF ANYONE HAS A DEAL PENDING WITH THIS GUY PM ME WITH LEGITIMATE PROOF. THANKS.

I'm not sure hooking up with the governor would be a viable idea. He's already a known psychopath to everyone in the prison. That's like if your wife kicks you out of the house and you decide to live with Charles Manson.

Most household rated LED bulbs do no emit UV. That's good for toys but also if you use it outside, that means it won't attract bugs specially mosquitos.
