  1. That wasn't even the one I used as it didn't exist... it was just a piece I had with crappy sketches of the characters and their names... I don't know if they're doing different sculpts for each character (male and female) but if they're not it'll be the equivalent of the VF-1 in terms of just head changes. just looked... looks like they reuse some parts and there's some differences on other parts like their inner shirts.
  2. man, quit arguing abut the nukes. Don't you know... when it comes to nukes... no one wins...
  3. The first time I saw it I had t keep a chart on who's who...
  4. There's a thread somewhere that graham posted whether or not wed be interested in M1st themed valks. I for one think it's a great idea. Not only for the cool valks but to raise awareness for the books. Those books need to be finished. Head sculpts and canopy and canopy frames need new molds though...
  5. I just saw your added question... I've heard people put them in ovens or leave their parts in cars on a hot day... but lately for this type resin, I just leave them soaking in a small cup of Coca-Cola for an hour. The corrosive acid will take away that gunky feeling, Then wash it in warm soap water. I have a sonic tooth brush dedicated to hobby parts and it cleans it pretty well. I don't really primer the pieces before I sand them. I just wanted to see how much line there was to compare them to another printer's material. The build lines actually acts as a natural guide coat. As soon as I don't see them anymore then I know it's ready to be painted. Wash them again, blow off water with compressed air or air dry... ready for paint!
  6. I'm guessing this is what they were trying to do...
  7. Hi Bastien... I sold off all my Toynami Alphas and Betas so I won't have any references. Also, my Mospeada plate is quite full right now. I sill have to make all the cyclones, ride armors, each one in storage mode, each character in armor and in regular clothing, inbit protectors and the inbits themselves. How do those pudgy creatures fit in the protector suits? I would say try jasonc to see if he can make that cannon. I've ever even seen it before. Is that a Robotech only piece?
  8. It's fun to discuss the behind the scenes of how these movies get made, even some of the way it works with different countries as long as we don't get into real politics. I missed some of what was said earlier in this thread so I'll let it go. Also, talking about how each country is treated maybe racial, as long as we don't get racist. Surely a movie like this that represents different nations, no matter how well or poorly, does deserve some discussion. Except for some few post, I think it's been kept pretty light. Thanks!
  9. Yup, that one is yours David. So here's the figure lightened up so you can see how the lines are gone... I used emery boards or the filing sticks you use for your nails, these handy dandy diamond files that can get into the nooks and crannies Each color represent how fine the grits are and then finally I use automotive scuffing pads. I use these for everything right before I paint... it really gives models a smooth texture. Just make sure you use these with a mask or wet sand with them... they have aluminum dust coming out of them when you use them. http://www.amazon.com/Eagle-06947-Scuffing-Hand-Maroon/dp/B000BI2M3Y/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1389382325&sr=1-3&keywords=scuffing+pads You can get these sometimes at Home Depot or Art Stores. Don't get the Scotch Brite or 3M type. You need the really soft fine type. After you use these dust them it with compressed air and they make your paint layer look like factory (as long as you paint evenly). make sure your paint is thinned properly (has milky consistency) and you might have to clear coat between layers so it doesn't get muddy.
  10. Maybe it was a Japanese Jaeger before but a lot of concessions being given to China right now due to the strong Chinese Box Office and funding. Hollywood is sticking a lot of Chinese actors in big blockbusters so that their audience will have someone to go see when the film opens there. And a lot of scripts are being changed so that China isn't seen as the bad guys... i.e. Red Dawn and Total Recall. I'm surprised they kept Rinko and didn't stick Zang Ziyi in there.
  11. If it helps I might hand a M1st VF-1J also.... no, tell Mr.K that I'd definitely hand one of those. Id' hand TWO with both hands!
  12. thanks! Took a couple of pictures earlier this week. Haven't had time to do all of them but I wanted to see how one look primered. Here's one before sanding. And here it is after... I'll take a better pic tomorrow with some tips.
  13. http://youtu.be/R7yfISlGLNU?t=41s
  14. Actually Yamato beat the Toynami into the VF-1 market... but then again there were delays after delays for the MPC.
  15. paint schemes... not re-releases or any new molds. So only previously released molds of the VF-1A/J/D/S (VT-1 and VE-1) MTF requires new molds.
  16. Funny that the maker of Metal Gear Solid thought that the governor looked like Snake... https://twitter.com/...6602369/photo/1
  17. 1. Low viz gray no paint kit (built or unbuilt) 2. Black no paint kit (built or unbuilt) 3. Minmay guard (both versions) 4. Blue roses 5. Enigma
  18. You need an "I got crabs from Captain America" bumper sticker.
  19. And your nails will look oh so pretty while painting those little figures!
  20. Title was misspelled... why didn't anyone say anything?
  21. Can't you just get those from Staples or any art store? They're more for drafting than they are for hobbies.
  22. For the wings I would use the white soft and flexible material... it's the only one that could withstand a metal rod hinge. Fortunately it's a lot cheaper than the material that the figures need. That one is not as strong but the detail is incredible. For the gun, I'd probably use the wsf also, but in black. And it wouldn't be solid. That's what would make it too expensive.
