I think he has talent, whether you guys like his style or not. If he would make up his own property, it would probably actually look quite good. I'm not sure if money is the measure of talent, success maybe, but not talent. Don't make me bring up Vin Diesel. (ooops, too late.) My whole problem is the 'Studio Yune' crack. If he works for a company that won't recognize them as creators, then he should even try to emulate them. Even if it's done tongue in cheek. I got the same thing when I put something there. It was a little tiny pic. But when I came back on the same remark was there. I thought it was funny, no biggie. I meant Cameron took advantage of the parts that Ridley Scott didn't get to put into the film, like the cocooning of their victim and later it turns into an egg. Most of the parts James Cameron edited out and later replaced in the Director's Cut wasn't his choice and did enhance the movie when they were brought back.

There's a lot that was thrown away from the original Alien script and Cameron took advantage of their omission to better his own script, fortunately. The first one was suppose to end with the Alien swallowing Ripley's head and using her voice to get entry into earth. Fox executives said 'no' to that ending and we ended up with the booster finale. Some execs get things right. Some. But they only come out at night.

IIRC, Yamato wanted to release them with the switchable heads, but it was Big West that turned the idea down. It don't feel that it's a money making scheme as it is just business. Asking for switchable heads would be the same as asking for stickers that we can use to change from one color to the other. After all, it's just different paint schemes, right. The fact is we just happen to be fans of a show/movie that contains the same mechas with slight variations. If they were all different, then it would be a whole other show entirely.

Nah. Like someone said before: In Alien, Giger design and limited technology couldn't avoid the "man in suit" syndrome. In Aliens They were done crouching to make them more feral and scary. They mostly human hosts there in LV-426(?) so in theory they would look just like the one from the first Alien. It wasn't until Alien3 that the whole host characteristic proposed. They didn't even use that in the fourth movie, because by then they were all genetically altered. Don't know much about the comic books, speaking specifically in movie terms.
