  1. Happy Anniversary BTW! I'm sure the people just joining us now are in for a shock! lol.
  2. Wow... Nice Job!!!
  3. Nice! So, the hands on both left and right are the same and are fully articulated? Do they fit inside the arm cavity?
  4. Hopefully it turns out great. Let us know. Would love for things to work out for Robocop and Phil Tippett fans. I know they also made a blade runner blaster but I haven't seen a review on that. Not that I've looked.
  5. I've seen Cinemaquette stuff in person... in 1/6 scale the Hot Toys/Enterbay stuff is far more accurate than their 1/4 scale statues and way cheaper. Just compare their Godfather figures, Bruce Lee and Indy. And while it's nice that they're working with Tippet studios themselves, I think I'd rather have Hot Toys plastic than resin. Hot toys has had their complaints when it comes to materials but at this point it's who I'd rather roll the dice with specially when it comes to resale value and retail price. I remember when ISS/SAT tried entering the replica arena with their line of MIB guns, it totally didn't work out for them. The deal breaker here is Toynami's name though. It's really not what I would consider an endorsement.
  6. Most of the time the flat head screws are exposed and are flush with the surface and the rounded ones are internal or have screw covers.
  7. The molds are going to be 100% new. The old molds are gonzo!
  8. HG/Toynami has merchandising rights to DYRL. The latest Macross Speaker Podcast talks about that too... http://www.macrossworld.com/6468/macross-speakerpodcast-ep-14-part-1-the-vf-1d-is-on-a-boat/
  9. beautiful!!! You should team up with 3D-Brainx and give us some awesome Macross Plus posters! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36960
  10. Those aren't Toynami version SD valkyries.. The Toynami SD VF-1's have the shoulders halfway inside the chestplate. Those are Metal Box aren't they? If that is, then that toy is pretty big.
  11. Yes... they did. Now you know...
  12. They're coming!!! Working on some Macross figures! Those and ride armors AND character figures should be next!
  13. I didn't pre-order it. I just saw the pictures of it before. But at the time there really was one place to preorder it, which is from their website. The website is in this thread somewhere... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=643137272436318&set=gm.616884835063690&type=1&theater
  14. Yup... at the lightest touch, anything not diecast just automatically shears itself in pieces. I can't even print out parts for it because you can't just open it and replace parts. They didn't use screws for the legs. It's all pins. What's PO?
  15. They have a regular sword for it. The picture shown is the exclusive or "early bird" pre-orders called the Beast Sabre, kinda like a machete version. Toy looks good, especially since my Toynami version is just starting to crumble inexplicably. I'd wait for reviews though. I heard that the vehicle voltron's issues were fix with the last release.
  16. The show is starting on Netflix on July 4th. Wonder if they drop all eps. like they do their other shows.
  17. Legend! Any Phil Tippet in the old issues of Cinefex were the best reads.
  18. You can also add another piece with a bigger hole that goes around the bigger circle. No need to split in half, this can actually make it more stable and keep the split in place.
  19. I'd say, buy a piece of styrene or find a piece of plastic the same thickness as the pivot on the arm, then drill a hole that's the same diameter. Cut it in half, then glue into place.
  20. From what I remember about the Bandai/Toynami "deal" by looking at the displays at SDCC, there seemed to be a deal between Tamashi Nation and Toynami because they had flyers and displays of Tamashii Nation. The DYRL Max VF-1A was suppose to be the first of the line called "Origin of Valkyrie" still listening so maybe you guys will mention that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oLDO91wil8#t=304
  21. I love the 1/100s... I think the fact that Yamato got head start in flooding the market with transfomable valks killed the line. If the v.2's didn't come out then macross collectors would have switched to the 1/100 line.

    VF-1J sketch

that's so cool! love your style!
  23. I agree with you, I'm not a huge fan of the Spartan design but if I was to buy one... this would be it. I looked at the other one available at this scale and they're the worst version of the worst destroid. But this one looks beefy and can be posed so nicely it can honestly stand toe to toe to with the other three destroids and the Monster. And the hands are not stuck in that crab claw position. Like Spitfire_BR said, this is a museum piece. Some guys are going to come along and regret they didn't see this thread in time, whether or not the project goes.
