BUMMER? I think he should direct every movie ever made!
After watching the Director's Cut Aliens on the big screen, I was able to appreciate it more. The atmosphere and dialogue was a lot more realistic. Aliens has been my favorite movie for a long time due to combined elements. The mechs, the robot, the marines. But directorial-wise Alien was just that much better. And it seemed like Ridley Scott has really honed his storytelling skills. He's a far cry from Bladerunner with Gladiator and Black Hawk Down. Bladerunner, also one of my favorites, kinda lagged a bit, but his pacing has jumped pretty far since.
Anyway, I'm still gonna take this with a grain of salt. Sigourney Weaver has been trying to get him to direct the film for a while now. Though he stated he was interested he never actually agreed. Besides, the first thing I would wish he threw out would be Ripley. She's old news.
