I've enjoyed Giullermo Del Toro's work, aside from Cronos, which was a POS, I really like Blade 2. It was pretty disgusting in a fun sense. There were some questionable decisions but I think they were to cater to the actors need to be looked at, or else they would have been running around those cool ninja type suits all the time. But the movie I really enjoyed from him was a spanish film called La Spina De Diablo, hope I got it right... The Devil's Backbone in English. Based on those 2 movies, I'll be looking forward to Hellboy.

It's an awesome comic book. Mike Mignola is a genius and is often imitated today. I'm kinda disappointed in the way Hellboy looks though, but the rest of the cast look great, especially Abe Sapien. There are a bunch of movies out there that are made from comic books and you wouldn't really know. Road to Perdition being one of them.

I finally picked it up but I realized that I haven't read he 4 books before it. Geez... I really need to sit down and check it out. From what I can tell there not a lot of SWAT action in this story... just a bunch of cyber diving....

I went out on a date, but before the movies we went by Steve's office where they were editting the movie. Steve was going to lend me a 1/48 Tanmen Pilot recast to check out. He showed us around the office. Getting down to business, he pulled out a tic-tac container and carefully slid the pilot to my hands where we admired it for a short second. The girl ran out of the room all freaked out. When I got back to the car I asked her what happened. She thought I was buying rock from a hollywood film guy (hehe, you know how those hollywood guys are potrayed in the movies.)

I got 4 of these suckers... I think I went overboard last Xmas in letting people know what I wanted and got more than I bargained for. I got 2 MIBs, 1 stickered, one stripped of paint. BoB, one is completly yellowed? All 4 that I have is in perfect condition as far as the plastic. There's got to be somethig in your environment that's doing that to your valks.

Tooling costs aside, Takara is gonna sell way more MPC Prime's then Yamato will sell 1/48ths. They can sell it for less of a profit and still make more money. Yeah... I answered my own question before coming back to this thread. I for got that Takara is tied in with a bigger company and a bigger franchise. So you're unable to compare 2 products? Unable to weigh in the differences and costs? That's your problem. Omni, I'm with you. Don't like the price... don't spend the money. People were buying old yellow Vf-1s a couple of years ago for more than this. I don't think it's the old school collectors that know the joy of "inexpensive" Macross toys such as this that are complaining.

I hadn't noticed that either. This brings back bad memories of the 1/72 YF-21. :shudder: To add, the MPC Prime is a transforming toy that is bigger than the 1/48. And to get the Takara version doesn't cost us as much. I'm not complaining about Yamato. I know the cost isn't the same as it is in Japan. But what gives? The 1/48 is almost all plastic and the Prime is some heavy die-cast toy. I know the boxes are bigger but is it the box size that is costing us? Anyway, the Q-rau price sounds fair if compared to the 1/48. it's that MPC Prime that's throwing me for a loop...

I don't really get why it's a biased opinion when you don't like the MPC or even the 1/60s. Wouldn't it be pretty objective if you bought each of these products and based on handling and playing with them you form an honest opinion? On that note, the MPC is a piece of crap and can only be admired because of the source material is so good. Even the $5 dollar bootlegs and toynami's cheap super deformed have that appeal if you give it enough chances. And while the 1/60s are worth every penny as a solid toy, it's still an awkward piece next to the 1/48. But at least you get what you pay for.

Don't forget the fires, riots, gangs and smog! Meh. Riots- not in 10 years Gangs- they pretty much keep to themselves Smog-it's really overrated Fires-middle of nowhere And the quakes- don't even wake you up. I've got stuff that falls over from me walking into my room sometimes that didn't have any prioblem here. ChrisB got it right... it must be sheltered where you're at. The fires destroy homes yearly. The gangs are constant, maybe not personally to me or you but just watch the news. Smog? C'mon... As for riots, there's a danger of them eveytime theres a high profile case, they usually move the trials into diff. neighborhoods but I believe it got pretty close last year with one certain case. Anyway, I believe the toy aspect is pretty much gone from this thread. Bolt down your shelves and put them in fihter mode if it worries anyone too much.
