FYI, I don't do the recasts. Rohby does. The only thing I get out of them is handless valks for a week or so. Rohby has molds from my 1/60 pilots. You can get them for either the super/strike or regular non supers. We've talked about putting it all on a website. I just haven't had time to put it together.

Yeah, I can still sticker up another valk even with the few that I drop. I just have to choose a completely different scheme.

But even if that's what really happened, we don't know for sure if HG was concerned about legal repercussions, or if they just didn't want to use DYRL designs in Robotech for stylistic reasons (and to keep the continuity hounds off their backs). Why would they go thru all the trouble of pulling someone's license for stylistic reasons? Something like that would only require a slap on the wrist. There was an instance last year when there was a poster made for the new Robotech comic books. The picture showed the Black Skull insigna on a VF-1 Fast Pack. It had Minmei sitting in the cockpit with Rick Hunter. It may even had the Strike Cannon on it (that I'm not sure off...) and there was a big hoopla on the old boards about it. later on the poster was released with a missle pod and the kite insigna in the place of the DYRL objects. So was the decision made because of continuity's sake or licensing mistake? It would seem funny that if it was for continuity's sake, then why would they release it and wait for Macrossworld to spot it for them? Also if they would take away the license from Antartic for the same reasons then why did they let WildStorm keep the contract this time around?

At the bottom of the page it says that it's the reason Antartic lost the contract for the RT license. I forgot who the member was. The artist is listed as Gregory Lane which leads me to believe that it's Glane that did this.

The last one looks neat. Needs more detail like you said before. I would love to see these rendered to be more realistic.

Cutting them out turned out to be a better deal for me. The valks look so much better when the stickers are cut close to the graphics or text. What I couldn't stand is when I accidently drop something I just cut out and I can't find it. Luckily Takatoys provides extras so on the same sheet I can use those. I've never tried Anazasi's decals, I'm hoping to check them out in person before I do.

Already done and tested by Rohby. I'm going to get a couple myself and some for Solscud aand Eternal D so they can check it out too. I thought about the pin inside too. It wouldn't have to be some special rod. It could be pieces of paperclips. But they seem sturdy enough without it. Like I said, a couple of people bought the JM recasts and the sharpener pilots. If you guys can confirm the strength of the 1A antenna or the pilot arms then you can tell that it'll be ok.

It's not about where the details on the old toys are. The old Golion set was great for it's time. The point is, if you are to release an update of a classic toy, you're expected to turn up the notch, especialy if you're going to tag on a label like "Masterpiece".

Just spoke to Rohby and he said you'd have to try to break off the stem for it to fall off. Also. I'm sitting here with the recast of the pencil sharpener and I'm pulling the arms gently and it seems sturdy enough. There are other people that bought the pilots to confirm this. I also encouraged him to thicken up the stem a little. I felt that the original one was a bit loose. It would be easier for each of us to shave the recast to our own taste. But I'm going to remind you that it's not going to be as strong as the original.

Just so you know, resin is more fragile than regular plastic or PVC. I'm sure Rohby has already looked at how it is. I'll get to see the set this coming week also. We'll keep you updated.

Naw, this is what happens when people try to define the complex in simplistic "cut and dry" terms... Some time ago, I was buying the Aeon Flux DVD when a couple of other customers stopped me saying that Aeon Flux didn't belong in the anime section as it wasn't really anime ... "It's an american made anime rip off!" they had said ... Of course these guys were there to buy a copy of the then recently released Red Hawk anime It just isn't that simple...Even the most base and simplistic use of the terms anime and manga covers a LOT of grey area. Anime is also a resin exuded from tropical trees, but you knew we weren't talking about that right?
