Man... I haven't heard from Albert in a while. Last time he was telling me about his internship and how busy he was. He's not a stingy mofo, but if you're going to go ahead with your project just make sure you do all the proper credits and from which sites you get it from. I've seen a couple of sites that have our fanart from here and MFC without credits. I've notified the artists everytime it's happened.

I realize that there's a lot of legal, ethical, and moral doublespeak surrounding these issues, but I want to make clear that when there's a legitimate R1 release of a product, I wouldn't encourage anyone to seek a downloadable fansub or HK-type bootleg of it--except possibly to supplement the translation. I'd also prefer to keep talk of doing so out of MW. Well it isn't legal anywhere. I thought we were on the going by the same rules that fansubbers go by. If it's available domestically(U.S.) then it's a no-no. But if someone was to start a thread about fan-subbers then the occasional mention of bootlegs available domestically is somewhat tolerated or overlooked.

I rented that one thru them. Didn't like it. They would drop the damn wolf metaphor...

That last pic makes the shade difference a lot worse than they are, but yes they are noticeably whiter. I asked Rohby to make the stems thicker than the originals because I thought the original ones were too loose. Well if you guys wanted me to test how strong the stems were then I think they passed, because one of them got stuck inside and I had to twist and pull to get it out. I thought it was going to break in there, but it didn't even crack or stretch. I then shaved it a little and it went back in fine. Putting in the gunpod is different also, you have to angle it down but it slides right in pretty firmly. I asked Rohby if it was possible to add a shade of gray to it but I haven't heard back. It's a bitch to tint these things so I wouldn't get my hopes up for now. But let's just wait for what he says. These recasts are really top notch. I can't wait for someone to confirm this for me.

I think they have a one month risk free trial month. They did when I signed up. The only thing is I cant se movies whenI feel like it. But that's where the no late fees come in. I can hold it until I have time during the weekend.

Great way to see movies that you're not interested in buying. Go to their site and check out their titles. They have tons. If you can actually make your 20 bucks worth it then go for it.

The subject of thread: good idea. Thread itself: bad idea, cuz for some reason they strict on this rule. Blaine has a point though, how can we discuss toys and not other merchandise? We'd most likely say don't bother wih the boot and get the legite copy anyway. Just because its better quality (sometimes). Besides, HG doesn't have to worry, who in their right mind would boot RT? They don't care about Animego sales right? or else they'd be pushing it in all the retail stores.

But the whole point of this thread would be: Why on earth would they even release a pic of a YF-19 on a Robotech comic book cover to a well known site, rough draft or no rough draft. Even if HG has claim to all Macross products (heaven forbid) the YF-19 is not even part of the RT continuity. Where's the sense in that? I mean, people across the ocean are working hard on designing these and to think others are just gonna walk in and say Hey these are ours too! is beyond repulsive, if not illegal. If they need new "veritechs" for their stories, then just design some, is that so hard? What's the point of saying we have people that worked on the original animation, but we're not getting anything original from them. I mean there's a reason why they are called "talents" isn't there?

Cyc, No one said it was Yune's art. If anything, at first it was thought to be fanart. The only time Yune's name came up was to question whether it was or if it wasn't. Don't let your defensivenes cloud your judgement of people here. Sure people are angry, but they've been pretty conservative with their comments from what I could tell.

Rule #1 on the internet and email. Things will most likely seem rude if it's directed at you. I always read things twice if it is. I honestly didn't see anything rude about either comments.

Not that I think they would do it, but don't forget the SHE models.
