  1. haha...you're not suppose to read the whole thing... there's an index at the top then you go to the short paragraph you want...
  2. The pic isn't anything to get excited about as far as quality. It was too small to see and it was all the same color so whatever detail you're looking for is washed out. Same thing for the FPs and the fully poseable pilot. I'm just kidding about the poseable pilot...
  3. Yeah, I think the timing was off on the poll the Cap mentioned. If you were to do it now, the results would be a lot different. I believe a lot of the fans that didn't pay attention to the resurgence back then are now just getting back into Macross. I certainly didn't pay that much attention to Macrossworld until the new and rereleased merchandise started coming out. Before that, it was mostly ebay and and going to china town. Anyway, I certainly would put down for a Yamato DYRL Macross. But it better be bigger than my Spiderzilla action figure!
  4. You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means.
  5. Don't you love it when Egan comes by? It's like spring cleaning...
  6. Where is "up here"? Alaska? Norway? Mars? I need more info to give you an exact answer I got mine on walmart for a little more than 20 bucks... the toy is being heavily sighted on Toys r Us and Target too... Vancouver, Canada to be precise. Vancouver??? Hey, my mom's there this week. If you see a lady taking half an hour to get on an escalator, tell her her son said HI!
  7. No, I meant she looked really good on the cover of GQ Vostok 7 yeah... but she's hardly a dog... but I guess she can shake her tail at me if she wanted to.
  8. You're nuts... if she had green hair you'd be all over her. And to think she was right there in Hollywood without a date...
  9. No, Optimus is his own scale and it isn't mentioned on the box. But he's not scaled with the BTs.
  10. Dammit... there was a Kaybee next to the Walmart I just got out of!
  11. How'd you guys go from discussing movies to men's breasts???

    1:48 TV hands recast

Man... before everyone starts shoving them into the arms... I wanna remind you guys to test fit it first. I asked Rohby to make the stems a bit thicker because I thought the originals were kinda loose. You can easily shave of a thin slice with an exacto knife, little by little. It was hard for me to get the hands out the first time and I thought I was going to break it, fortunately the resin was a lot thougher than I expected. Mechamaniac. Let's see a little review about how it handles and looks. Thanks!
  13. not true... I preferred the 1/55s to the 1/60s. I had a strong distaste for the 1/60s from he beginning. But it's lightyears ahead of the MPCs, I can give it that.
  14. Ive heard of shotgun weddings but that's just taking it too far...
  15. So if someone finds the cure for cancer, they don't deserve the Nobel Prize for Medicine because they're an a-hole???
  16. From my experience Robotech never merchandised the Macross part properly, meaning mostly the Takatoku/Bandai VFs, which made me seek out Macross toys and led me to the movies, and OVAs and ultimately the original series. But i think Macross fans are the minority in the U.S. and for the most part, the world. I don't remember being miserable watching Robotech, but I'm a lot happier watching Macross. $.02
  17. Best song of the night was the Jack Black and Will Ferrel duet. But who am I kidding, I only kept my eyes open for Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron (who looked more gold than Oscar) and Scarlett Johanssen... yum yum!!! Billy Crystal was great too. I don't watch his moves but he's a great host.
  18. The toys? When I was a kid I used to collect all kinds of toys, MOTU, GIJoe, etc. But the Japanese toys stood out more. hey weren't held together by glue and rubberbands. There were screws, metal and incredible complexity to them. The transformers we cool, but the takatokus and Gakkens were even better. Not just the macross toys but the Orguss toys also, and later the Legioss/Alphas. Add the elaborate story behind them to the detail of the toys and it was more than my hyperactive adolescent brain could handle. Then add the fact that I couldn't afford any of them back then. It's not just love but an unhealthy obsession...
  19. Sometimes the easiest explanation is right there in front of your eyes...
  20. I don't know, the 60's Batman as hard to beat also... I guess we'll see...
  21. Hey! I resemble that remark! But then you'll be the last to know when hell really does break out...
  22. Hmmm, if that's the case, the topic should have been closed WAY before it did. Starting with that dude's comments about 'go to college and get an education so you can buy expensive things'... but I suppose, just because that guy was willing to purchase one with no gripe, it was un-noticed. Nice moderating, fellas. There was nothing wrong with that thread and the way it was going. Who cares if it went a little off-topic or some people need to let a little "spark" fly? Are we a sensitive kids, or conversating adults? You know, you can have "power" without having a power-trip. And, that's what it's all about. This is a discussion forum, let us discuss things. Some subjects will have have disagreements. That's natural. Keep things as organized as they can, but be prepared to let things get out of hand once in a while. Fifbeat, you're doing exactly the same thing to this thread that happened to the last. There's a thread about it in the Feedback section if you want to keep talking about it there. The fact that it took so long to close is an example of how lenient the mods are here. And saying that Shawn was on a power-trip is way off base. Shawn hardly ever, and close to never closes a thread himself. If he wanted to he can close a thread simly because he doesn't like it, which he'll never do. There's nothing wrong with disagreements as long as they are valid arguments. But that thread was beyond validity. Just let it go or like I said, argue your case in the feedback section.
  23. Any chance we might be able to get away from that and back onto the toy? Afterall, this IS the MPC toy thread, is it not? It's hand in hand... HG is too cheap and greedy to tell Toynami to make quality toys by today's standards. They're great toys if they were sold at under $30 (and I'm being generous there) but at the price they are asking for, theyr'e the ones making it look like crap. Look at the Banprestos, they're utter crap but people love them because of the price, and these are imported prices! I don't want to pay less, I have no problem paying 80 bucks for an MPC, but it better be worth it. Don't let them tell you that Robotech is a great classic, but we only have POS's to offer you. This goes for the MPC line so far. I'm going to keep an open mind about the Alphas, but I can't help but let this post explain my expectations.
  24. The "groin armor" hanging so low would also limit poseability. Nice drawing! I feel like Max is flashing me...
