    Collection shame

I was talking to Knight26 about what to do when you take home a girl from a date for the first time, it's funny that we both had the same answer. Fighter mode! Cuz' then your just an aviation freak. It's kinda funny when they slowly start to learn that these things have arms and legs. Yesterday, my friend screamed when she saw the 18" Spider-man in the corner of her eye. It didn't register to her that it was a toy because it didn't look like a pose that a regular action figure can do. It's fun to have toys around but I never want to have my house look like a Toys R'Us warehouse. Right now I have a wall closet that I can open and close whether or not I feel like exposing my geekdom. It's a shocking site though and changes the feel of the room instantly. BTW, welcome buffalobob77. Mah spoon is too big! darn you AgentOne... beat me to it...
  4. I guess I'll decide whether to see it or not after I see the first minutes. It's pretty bold for them to be showing that much of it for free. There's a chance they could turn people off if they don't like what they see. Final Destination is a fun watch too.
  5. They broke the molds???

    DYRL

I wouldn't want a live version DYRL... but a live action COTB would be too cool!!!

    DYRL

I was reading about that Final Fantasy Concert in the Other Anime Section and I keep thinking on how it would be cool to see DYRL with a live Orchestra and Electric band on the side. If I won the Supah-Lotto maybe I'll have a private screening.
  8. LOL... How can anyone avoid the damn pop-ups??? Netflix is the most popular online video rental service. They have a good selection of anime, better than my local Blockbuster and Hollywood video anyway.
  9. ...uneditted and uncut... They'll probably show it towards the last half hour of Final Destination which is a cool movie too. Viewer discretion is advised.
  10. I used to watch any cartoon when I was a kid. ...except this one...
  11. From Tenjin's site. I don't know if it's canon... http://www.tky.3web.ne.jp/~tenzin/macross/VFhead.html

    1/48 VF-1J Custom

You could put a white stripe on the chest (where the red stripe was when it was hikaru's) to balance off the heatshield. Also, a bigger decal would be cool, looks kinda weird when it's that small. Otherwise a great custom.
  13. knock on fireproof wood....
  14. Thank you for making me feel better about my spending habits. Also... I find it weird that in the middle of all those toys you have a poster of The Passion.

    Britai attacks!

They used a buncha TVs for the original aliens? cool! Yeah. They mention it in the commentary... Are the dolls in the beginning suppose to be watching the TV or doing commentary??? lol...

    Britai attacks!

The Seagal Vs. Alien set is awesome! It's just the bottom of a bunch of micrawaveable containers. Like in the original movie where they use a bunch of TVs and set the back forwards. Ingenious!
  17. It's the only way to cope...
  18. Exo, No need to apologize my friend. Maybe you are right, neither you or I know for sure at this time, perhaps we never will. My VT-1 recast from Rob came with a (2) seat cockpit, and the one pictured looks resin to me based upon the color. As far as the chestplate goes, it only takes (1) screw to take it off, and put another one on. It really doesn't matter though, does it? Jetfire, hodge podge of various valkyries, or an actual Bandai VT-1, it's all moot. Sincerely, Christopher Actually, I forgot all about this. I took a look at it after my post and it sure does look like it's made up of different parts. Some of which are jetfire, I just didn't go back and correct myself. But your right, the direction in which this thread took. It's moot. Arafat, you did a real poor job in exonerating yourself. For someone getting tired of taking crap from people, you sure don't try that hard on silencing them... Danguard, do you have a final say now? Even if he posts pics of the molds now, I'd say it's too little too late. That should have been the first thing he should have posted. Besides, the recasts with the the molds are totally different resin from the Ostrich parts. The GBP and Elint armor are white (smooth-on?) resin and the Ostrich is the tannish type that Rob uses.
  19. really? I think the model section is great. Everyone gets along and are helpful to each other...
  20. By all means Jesse... I wasn't saying that the allegations are far fetched, in fact I was saying Arafat shouldn't be surpised by them.
  21. Wouldn't we all... Speaking of that, is there going to be another one soon? Brian Singer not only has plans for a new X-men, but is going to be writing an arc for the Ultimate(IIRC) Xmen comic books.
  22. If you guys have seen Chris Cunningham's video for Bjork's All Is Full Of Love, then you'd know that he would be the perfect director for I, Robot or even A.I. Stanley Kubrick had him work on visuals and scripts when he was working on the A.I script. He was practically held prisoner in Kubricks house to work for him. Eventually Kubrick fired him due to "artisitic differences." As good as the oiginal The Crow was, Alex Proyas really hasn't done much. I think Dark City was his last mid-budget flick. (Kudos for him for getting Jennifer Connely back when she was hotter than hell.) I'm interested in what he has in store next, but the addition of Will Smith unpiques my curiousity. If it's a slow month for movies, maybe I'll go see it when it comes out.
  23. Sorry Chris but that appears to be an original Ostrich Valkyrie. Notice the 2 seater and the paint. Arafat, maybe you got an unfair bad reputation. But as a dealer, a person usually has to go out of his way to prove themselves first, because money or valuable things are involved. Also there had been questionable actions in your time here as a member, so you shouldn't be surpised at the backlash. You don't familiarize yourself with the rules and conducts of the boards and expect everyone else to excuse you for it. Everytime you post you should already expect some sort of negative response, maybe you don't deserve it, but it's usually what follows and it shouldn't surprise you by now. An easy to stop things like that from happening from this thread was to post pics of more than one set of recasts or another set of armor, such as the Elint.
  24. I'm just sad that the fights aren't in person, and I'm not there to see. Oh what a wonderful world that would be. Oh yeah Pfunk, BTW, you're a bitchass!
  25. What about in Mac 0? An armored valk did pretty well in atmosphere... How so? Roy had the element of surprise when he busted out of nowhere, and then firepower as he loosed every missle he had at Ivanov. After that initial attack, he was pretty much a big fat slow target to fill full of lead. Which Ivanov proceeded to do, IIRC. The armor might have saved his life, but it didn't look to be all that effective to me vs a fast moving target. I guess it was really meant for point defense, but it looked like the extra weight got him clobbered. Since it was obviously on the VF-0, I guess we can assume that it was designed to be used in atmosphere. Even so, I agree with Blaine and say that the full armor suits like that and the GBP wouldn't really come into their own until you got them in zero gravity. I never said it could out perform an armorless valk. It did it's job pretty well. It performed pretty much the same as it did in space. It gets discarded after it outlived it usefulness. I can't argue that it would be a lot more effective out in space, but to say that it's not designed for ground combat would be... um... inaccurate...
