  1. hehe... don't expect it to get any better...
  2. trippy... it's like a mix between Sky Captain and a perfume commercial. Looks really interesting though. The title makes me want to eat some gourmet chocolate for some reason...
  3. The comic book guy lives!!! ...now he must die!
  4. That argument can go either way... I can say people are more forgiving on the film because it was a Tarantino film. The only thing I expected from Tarantino was a good movie, and while I enjoyed many aspects of the film I didn't walk away satisfied enough to call it a good film. And yes that was a perfect analogy of Superman, one that I already realized about the whole Batman/Superman polarity. It was one of the things I did have fun seeing on screen. I truly believe that a movie like this should have great martial fights as the meat of the story, because if that fails to convince me, then the rest of it falls apart, IMHO. I can't wait for that Jet Li movie though... excellent trailer.
  5. I think it's funny... the cannons are set up just like the Monster... no harm laughing about it, I'm sure the guys that are Macross/RT fans over there would find it funny too.
  6. SPOILERS... Saw the second one and while it a bit better than the last, I still didn't walk away thinking this was the movie I wanted to see. The thing that's confusing about these movies are you're enjoying yourself while your watching it but they never really fulfill in the areas they should. Max said something that I kept thinking in the movie. I thought that Keanu is a great martial artist when you put him next to Uma. She always looks strange when she was doing her moves. Those shots reminde me of those girls in school that only played Barbie and all of a sudden you give her an aluminum bat for softball. There was always an ackward feeling. Another let down about the fights was that they were anticlimactic. No the bride does not kill Bud. Though the fight between Elle and the Bride was long and very violent, it would seem that there would have been a great swordfight to end it. Though it was a funny trade off. It was still a let down. BUT... you were guessing you weren't given that finale because there was still Bill. Guess what, the whole thing was done in 5 seconds, while they were sitting down. Yes I got all the references and all the foretelling. While Bill was talking to the bride on the porch of the chapel, the street sign was "Agua Caliente" meaning she was standing in hot water. But at the end it was a whole lot of promises left unfulfilled. I hope most of you enjoy it as much as the other people on this thread, but I think if you didn't enjoy the first one, you won't enjoy this one. Wasn't there a character with Michael Jai White?
  7. if any of the SoCal/L.A. area guys want to send it all in one package then meet up that would be cool. Let's get it together.
  8. According to Toynami, it was a marketing decision. They reassessed the projects and felt that one set of Macross Poseables would suffice as there are more Macross projects on the horizon... The comment about future Toynami Macross projects will be quite interesting. I'll have to hit up George on this... Personally, I think there are too late in the game. We have quite a bit of a VF-1 overflow as you mentioned Apollo. Even myself, the excitement of getting another VF-1 in the collection has lost much of its luster... -K I've always thought that if Toynami and HG were smart they would release toys that would coincide with Yamato's. Instead of competing, they can fill the gaps and make the money that Yamato isn't. And they would be unintentionally giving Yamato the finger. They should make the 1/60 Glaug and Regult along with some action figures. There's no way collectors can resist those if they were out in the market. I'd get those for 79.99 a pop if the quality was good...
  9. Haven't seen it... waiting for it to get to Netflix so I can copy it... er I mean bootleg it... doh! I mean steal the money right out of HGs crummy paws! Ah yeah... that's right... that felt better! I still call my favorite girl Nova Satori! lol... But yeah, the best thing about the show were the mechs (minus Mari's ugly bulbous gerwalk mess) and the armours.
  10. Well yeah... SC and Orguss were part of the Super Dimension Trilogy... So they should have the BW sticker...
  11. My neck hurts now! post it right next time so I can stare as long as I want... lol.
  12. Holy Crap! Ewilen? Where'd you get that? is that a purse??? Sam I just got one of those models. I'll try to scan it this weekend if no one else does...
  13. According to the office pool I had DYRL MPCs!!!
  14. RIP YF-19
  15. Don't get my hopes up...
  16. Now I regret not getting this figure. I had given up on things that I thought were too small to collect such as the EVA SOCs. But look at the detail. Excuse me while I go back to kicking myself. Better yet... where's my boss...
  17. yosho, just curious... how old are you? You shouldn't see that as a deterrent but use it to make you a better artist... I saw this girl last year at the con and she got way better from back then. Awesome stuff.
  18. Gunpod? Pilot? That be not me sir! If the pilot comes in the cockpit I'll take it, but if anyone else wants it... they can have it. Give me the pilot from the Hikaru 1S instead Neova if you have it... if not no biggie... Thanks d00d! This guy's D BOMBA!!!
  19. You guys are comparing apples and oranges... Grant's story telling is like a fine meal. Where Ennis will eat that meal then fart it out inside a crowded elevator for everyone to enjoy! Two diferent kinds of enjoyment!
  20. I would but it looks all wrong to me. The only thing going for it is the fact they said it's based on the Garth Ennis run...
  21. Ummm.. America's Most wanted? but that was in every episode...
  22. why would it? We want quality products, not crappy bootlegs.
  23. That's a bunch of poo-poo. I watched it last night and the quality is superb. How could it be a bad transfer when the film is less than a year old? From the DVDJournal.com - Miramax presents Kill Bill Volume 1 in anamorphic widescreen (2.35:1), and both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio. A fine transfer, this title probably is best enjoyed at high volume. They ain't kidding, either. The sound rocks. But waiting for the box set is probably a good idea. I wouldn't have bought the disc myself, but my g/f loves it and bought it herself (now she has almost 10 DVDs on the shelf... I have over 300 ) This bit about the box was posted on thedigitalbits.com I'm just glad to hear the color version in the Japan release will be available eventually here. Thenks Boss! I'll pick it up if I can find it cheap. I'll give it to my nephew, it's his favorite movie so far...
  24. Thanks Skull Leader! You're absolutely correct. But then that's why your the Skull Leader and I'm just a CF.
  25. Again, the only thing that would refute the fact that it's just a trainer are the letters "VF" which stands for "Valkyrie Fighter", as oppose to the Ostrich which is designated as a "VT" which of course stands for "Valkyrie Trainer". Of course each type is designated to some sort of rank or hiarchy in the system. I would assume it means that your not quite good enough to fight or if you are fighting, you're still not good enough to shoot at... But it seems that the color designates the fact that it's a trainer more than the head. But that's just speculation.
