That's so weird... I thought rainbot has been around a while (since the old boards) but that sure don't look like his posts. First of all, they SAY there's one that you can play with at their booth, but you can't easily ask them if you can handle it. After a few minutes of trying to convince them, they brought out the sample in the box and they let me and a couple of MWers feel the weight on it. Suprisingly enough, it was pretty heavy for it's size. At the RT panel they raffled one off. One lucky sucker got to take one home ahead of every one. I spoke to the guy and asked him to take it out of the box and transform it. He agreed to do it. After seeing that he never transformed an Alpha before and had no idea of the sequence he gave it to me and asked me to try. I got as far as pulling the legs back. One of the legs wouldn't slide all the way back and I didn't want to force it. The people from the panel asked us to make room for the next panel so we had to leave. From what I can feel for the short time I had it. The joints felt tight. But I can't say surely as I didn't get to hold it for that long. I felt stupid after wards because I didn't introduce myself to the lucky and very graceful gentleman that won the toy. If I see him again, and by chance I recognize him, I'll invite him to the Macrossworld Con and ask him to display it. Actually, I bet we can ask someone from Toynami to display one of their personally owned Alpha. They seemed nice enough people to talk to.

The ads for that documentary showing people in plate armor made sure that I didn't bother with it. Putting anachronisms in a work of Arthurian fiction is fine and to be expected. In a documentary though, is stupid. bother with the documentary? or the movie? I haven't decided whether or not I'll see it. It doesn't look that good. But I enjoyed Fuqua's Training Day but it looks like he may be a fish out of water with this one. I'm half expecting Owen to scream "Uther Pendragon ain't got poo on me!"

Great movie! Though I wish they would have chose someone other than Nigel Terry as Arthur. It's great to see Captain Picard and Qui-Gon in suits of armor. The armors is what made the picture, IMO. It's how you picture knights when you talk about chivalry and quests. Frankly I was tired of seeing Prince Valiant type chainmail and robes before Excalibur came out. Arthur was a timeless legend, even the historians couldn't figure out what age the legend is from. But his legend was popularized wildly around the time full suits of armors where used. And that's how his image was represented. A lot of the Pre-Raphaelites painted the Knights of the Round Table straight out of Sir Thomas Malory's book dressed in the full armor. I would guess this is where John Boorman got his imagery. I can't believe that the new Arthur movie is being touted as THE true story of Arthur. When in fact it's just another adaptation of the legend. Though watching the History Channel's documentary has me interested in watching it.

Yes and no, it's supposed to be "Fat bottomed girls" and the subtitle of this topic is the next line of the lyrics. crap, that subtitle was making the song play in my head and I didn't even know it... I have no idea what the lyrics are.

I wasn't saying it sucked or anything, just as a half-assed completist too lazy to play through a half dozen crappy games it would have been nice to get more of the cutscene footage. You half-pint junior mint fanboys, i swear... I never said you said it sucked ... only if there was an Archive for Random Macross stuff... something like a Random Macross Archive site... hmmm... yeah... there are no other half-pint junior mint fanboys... all the other ones are pints, quarts and gallons...
