Would it be safe to assume that if Yamato's sales improved that Big West's would profit enough to make more Macross shows then. It seems that Macross is stuck in that hole though. There aren't enough fans to warrant more toys, there isn't enough shows in the franchise to market, and they neither market the toys nor the shows. And it doesn't seem like Macross 0 is the show that would help them out of that hole. I hate it say it because I hate formulas, but in this case it works. The mecha and the action in Zero is fine, but we need more of what make Macross works. And that's Mikimoto designed characters, idol singers and some serious butt kicking alien army (not vampires). The story can deviate were it wouldn't seem so formulaic, but lets get more of what made Macross what it is.

I believe the gun does attach to either wing. too bad it doesn't have the missile rack inbetween the shoulders.

It's very close to the size of the superposeable and the 1/60 VFs. I doubt that the battroid would reach 8, I'd say it's closer to 6.5 inches. The books seem to be the same size as the MPC VF-1s. I can't guarantee it though.

The chest plate does NOT drg as far as I can see, There's a gap between the glass and the plate, if you can see it between the reflection. The 12th is the departure for the shipment to leave china to toynami. Not Toynami to the distributors/customers. So I'm saying there WILL BE a longer wait. Sorry Eriku. Hopefully I'm wrong. But that's straight from the horse's mouth.

I'm hoping that Shadow Force will be a huge success... that way they can have their own cash cow and leave macross out of it. I'm also hoping that the Alpha will be great toy. That way I can have a great legioss and Toynami will turn out to be an OK toy company. Wouldn't hurt anyone to have another toy company that makes nice toys. Their Inu Yasha line looks good. Though I like articulations on the figures I buy.

Another thing... Toynami head, who shall remain nameless...... let it slip that there's going to be a "variant" after a certain number. I'm not totally sold on this. It could be just a ploy to start a rumor to sell multiple copies (yes... I am a paranoid). I say the best way to make people but multiple is to make a great product. My 1:48 vs. my 1:60 collection can attest to that. I just found it funny that he would let a couple of us hear a hush hush conversation.

I've never seen HG try to claim creative rights to anything related to Macross. SN did sue to get the design work issue claified, sure. But, I've never heard of an instance where HG tried to exploit Macross in a manner only the creators would have the ability to. Even when HG attmepted to produce the Sentinels they did what was necessary in order to avoid infringing on the original work. And even now, HG is producing an animation that is based on a work that they can exploit, Mospeada, and not Macross. UGH... I've never seen a company stretch the meaning of "merchandising rights". As far as I know, merchandising means sell our products, not "steal it from under us and everything else we've worked on." I don't remember being miserable watching Robotech. I quite enjoyed it as a kid. But they're mishandling of the title and all out intention own everything Macross makes it hard to get that feeling back. For some reason I had the feeling that they were going to release DYRL. I was at the panel but there was so much talking and the Q&A was so short it was hard to get anything straight... there was only time for ONE question... And it looked almost orchestrated too. They were sure adamant about taking that guy's question first.

She had a russian last name, like the landlord. She didn't look too superheroish either. The MJ and Parker scenes were probably the worst parts of the movie. They're lines were so Cheesy... "you're just an empty seat" Best scenes were with Harry, Doc Ock and Bruce Campbell. And man... does Aunt May have strong arms or what....?

I'm still waiting also. Though I got to handle it a little, it wasn't enough for me to truly know if the toy was as great as it looks. Unfortunately I'm a stickler for sturdiness, I believe it has a lot to do with poseability and diplayability. If it doesn't hold up, it just wont look that good in any mode. But so far I haven't ran across anything bad with the toy. I do know that the ship date of the merchandise coming from China is the 12th. And they pretty much said there won't be a vendor in San Diego that would have it. Though they all want some.

BUMP... Anyone have scans to the monster pics in the most recent Hobby Japan? (or was it Dengeki?) Got kicked out while I was looking at it at A|X....

I saw the other pics and they're pretty much the same as the ones I took. Here 2 though that might be of interest. The first one shows how HUGE the feet are in guardian config. and also how it looks like the chest part folds up so it doesn't drag while parked in fighter config... maybe it doesn't fold up but it looks like there's enough clearing...
