    Poor them. Roped into the very thing they were trying to work against in the first place. To think that they tried to do their own thing because they were tired of waiting for something new from HG. It's like a really bad and boring Twilight Zone episode.

    Sadly and even though I wasn't a huge fan of the Project Valkyrie... fan films would have been the best thing to keep people aware of it. Awareness thru the Kickstarter left negative connotations even if they choose to bask in the short lived and desperately needed attention. I do think that fan film makers should stay away from Macross mechs and characters though, there too much there that just leaves to the backlash in the comments section. Or even Sentinels. They should do Mospeada or beyond. They also have the extra challenge of making sure that it looks good... even when it's just a fan film, I think that a bad looking one just makes it look like they're so willing to accept anything at any quality.

    Lol. The comments. Some guy equated Studio Ghibli's current state of affairs as a failure that HG should be able to relate to. The delusions get grander.

    Not sure if serious. But it doesn't make the rest of them look good with posters like that. It just strengthens our view of how they'll follow HG blindly.

    I guess if you're a company that measures success by the amount of their failures, then they're the most successful company that ever was and only getting more and more successful.

    Proved demand? If anything it proved lack of demand... 2000 interested individuals doesn't even make a good youtube view count. If that's their target number audience then trying to get it into syndication might prove a bit challenging.

    Man, everyone RT.com forums is posting like this Kickstarter is the greatest thing that ever happened to Robotech. Which it probably is and will be for a long time. But man... it's like they just finished watching a whole series and a movie version was announced. Haha... awesome... popcorn!

    It's easier to walk into a panel (which I believe someone said they had this weekend) and explain "This is why we cancelled it." Than to have to say, "The kickstarter project is obviously going to fail." They can't try to rally the troops at this point so rather than looking stupid... they can just make statements of how they're not stupid. Hopefully there's video...

    I wasn't criticizing your post, I was just stating how it's now more obvious and sad the truth is. HG is now (or has been for some time) marketing Robotech more on concepts rather than a fully realized franchise and actually have a few people still eating it up.

    I honestly didn't know which way it would go, I've been so out of touch with the RT fandom and the amount of backlash against it that it's actually eye opening. The whole thing has been interesting on 2 accounts. How a company has garnered hatred around it beyond it's own fandom to what I would call "casual" pop culture fans and the whole Kickstarter strategy. I've never really looked into it before and it's really a quite fascinating avenue for people to take. I've seen KS projects before, but I've never watched one from start to finish... I'd like to find one I was interested that would eventually be successful.

    WTF... the guy skipped thru the series, watched clips of the whole thing in 3 hours and says it's doesn't make sense and inconsistent... don't make me say this word... must... not... RETARDED!!!

    I don't know how anyone clamoring for Robotech can complain about KoS... but then again since this thread started I've seen links to stuff like Why Robotech is better than Macross... one reason is because it's longer... lol.
