I voted for the first one. I actually do love them. Maybe soemone will make better arms and we can all replace them. That's the only part I hate.

Wasn't it at the AX and the SDCC that Tommy or Steve (can't tell them apart) shouted that we won't need to buy a different alpha to connect to the beta? Followed by a close... IF they make it....
-
You know what would be an interesting poll? I want to see how many people believe there will be a Beta/Tread for this thing. Every connection people have suggested gets covered up in Battloid and Fighter mode. Do people still believe it's possible? I'd have to give Toynami some kudos if they pull it off...

Rob or Cap... who'd you get to draw the characters on the instructions? Awesome...

If you look at the Gold Book Sketch that the face was based on (the wedding dress pics) it's pretty darn close... It just needs those Mikimoto eyes that are bigger... I gotta admit though, the wedding sketches does not match what you would call the definitive look of Millia. But neither does the awful episode when she attacked Max in the park, let's just be greatful they didn't base it on that.

Scientists vote 'Blade Runner' best sci-fi film.

Well now that you put the word cheesy before each of those words, maybe I'll change my mind... Oh wait, that was done to sway my opinion... let me try it too... Anyone ever seen that Cheesey Macross 7? A bit touchy eh? Though I'd like to know what you call "studio required" narration & a "happy ending" added. All the DC version did was trim the unnecessary studio fluff. I personally enjoyed the "fluffless" version better. It's not like we're talking about Star Wars where the director wend back & tried to re-write the whole film. This is more akin to what happened with Brazil. Studio wants one version of the film, Director wants another. In both cases, the director eventually one out, leaving a superior version of the film available. Yeah, I get touchy when people try so hard to force their useless opinion on other people. There's a different version out there that I want to see. It was made, Harrison Ford did the voice, Ridley Scott did the direction. While I don't really care for the ending , I still want to see the movie the way I remember seeing it the first time. What I don't need is some jackass telling me that I shouldn't because of some studio decisions and and Ridley Scott not having enough clout back then to release the movie he intended. And then comparing it to some other movie that doesn't have anything to do with it - to prove a point. It's really obvious that you're a slave to other people's opinion and have none of your own... you read some insider interviews about how some director meant it to be, and you get upset because it was changed. All of a sudden it becomes some sort of bible and everything else is heresy. You do it with Kawamori and now you're doing it with Ridley Scott. What I need is for you not to point your purist stick at anyone else for the small amount of time you take it out of your ass. -

I wouldn't say it's understood... Collecting Macross is like a roller coaster ride... you sit, strap yourself down, and scream for your life... at the end you ask the guy that works there if you can go again and again...

Welcome kanedaestes... here's some links to help you find out what we're chastising you about... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=228 http://protoculture.lebhead.com/ http://macross.anime.net/ Just to let you know people here have an aversion to 1. RT related threads outside the "Other Anime" section 2. Live action movies about anime 3. Tofu I happen to like tofu...

poor guy... never had a chance...

Exo Can I quote you on that? I think you just did... I gotta check my B-Club and Artmic when I get home to see what version they are. The hardsuits are very similar. I think it's the moto slaves that differ more...

There's no need to defend Toynami by linking to the Yamato thread. People pretty much got the idea that the Alpha is better than the original MPC and caught up with initial Yamato QC issues. People still have the right to bitch about it. For better or for worse, it would seem like Toynami listened to the customers, both RT fans and Macross fans and is starting to go towards the right direction. (Both Yamato and Toynami should head towards the Takara and Bandai way though.) I'll reiterate that the toy is wonderful... until you get to the arms. I'd hope they fired the retard that approved the arms for this otherwise nice build.

So the original on DVD is kinda hard to find? There is none. Unless someone made a laserdisk transfer... As of yet, I haven't researched that route... -

I don't think the director's cut was released until the early 1990s. I remember going to the opening day at the Nuart in Santa Monica. While I was excited to see it, now I hate it because I can't find a decent copy of the original on DVD... hmmm... maybe I'll check evil-bay... -
Why ask why? Have you guy's what Nick does to obscure Macross toys and models? Just sit and wait...
-
doesn't anyone ever sticker up their valks? oh wait... that's mine...
-
I like the classic ones too but it looks to me like the toys are based on the 2040 hardsuits. Take a look at Rinna's hardsuit...
-
That would be the next best thing since the 1/48s. It seems like my childhood is coming after my wallet with a vengeance! here are the 2040 hardsuits for comparison...

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the original on DVD too... Bladerunner is one of my faves, but I gotta say I'm surpised that the geeks didn't vote for Alien or 2001. (Right Max?) -
I enjoyed the improvements on ESB, my favorite film from the trilogy. Cloud City was less clausterphobic. Hopefully my brother will get the set so I can check it out. I'm spent on the many versions of SW I have...
-
Ditto... I'll get them anyway, close enough.

looks good!

where's the third figure? I hope you're right Anubis....
