Hayden couldn't act his way out of a paper bag...so sadly, I think him f'ing up the scene is in the cards... luckily, they've got a lot of genuinely good actors to balance his suckiness out. Ummm.... most of the actors in SW are lame anyway with FEW exceptions. People say Natalie Portman is a good actress, but other than Leon(where she was a little kid) I haven't been impressed with her work. I think Hayden is doing well, especially considering how whiny Luke is in 4 and 5. I like Portman. I lked her in Beautiful Girls and in Closer. She and Cliver Owen outdid Julia Roberts and Jude Law. I also liked her stoic performance in Ep. 1 rather than her heroic part in Ep.2.

Don't bet on it. While HG claims broader Macross rights, with Mospeada they still seem to be playing by the old rules. Everything that came after they signed the inital agreement with Tatsunoko, most notably Love Live Alive, isn't fair game. Same reason HG's VF-4-X looks like the early Macross Perfect Memory version and not the later ones. That doesn't preclude them talking to the artist and getting the rights though... Depends on how good the series is... I had Alex's whole Clockwork Orange setup when I watched Last Exile to make sure I didn't blink. But other serieses like Votoms held back my Netflix qeue... I kept telling myself I'll get to it later.

That manga is probably the most available title in all translated mangas, I don't understand why it's so hard to find. That also gives Studio Proteus and Dark Horse mad props for giving mangas a wider audience. As far as I remember Toren Smith of Studio Proteus worked together with Masamune Shirow, a recluse mind you, in bringing Appleseed and his other work over to the US. Yes there were some bad judgement in the earlier releases, such as Adam Warren covers. But the material was basically there. Yeah Tokyo Pop is more faithful to the way it's done in Japan. But let's face it, most of their property is crap. It's more machine driven than SP/DH releases. And I've had no problem enjoying Appleseed, GitS, Gunsmith Cats, Blade Of The Immortal and Oh, My Goddess from Studio Proteus. I think they've done a fine job where hardly anyone else was doing quality english versions. And I've read Viz and other companies during the time I'm talking about. I've met Toren Smith also. He was pretty much as a-hole, but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment that I've had from the books. As far as now,I don't think you have to worry about Studio Proteus anymore.
