It's amazing that you'd think that they'd get a clue with how unbelievably popular the larger scale 1/48 is. Sure some weren't as popular, but they all sell out eventually. I'm wondering how they decided to give Votoms the deluxe treatment. Maybe it would be better if they lost interest in Macross all together and give some other young upstart company a crack at the license.

maybe if it had 20 different flourecent colors, I'd mistake it for a TF...

I agree with Radd for the most part, but I'm so used to asking questions like that when watching any Asian movie that I'm now prepared to turn that part off for enjoyment sake. The traumatic childhood excuse was hokey, but that's the explanation they give so not accepting it is kinda useless. The part where her mom's spirit types the last letter was kinda hokey for me. But I didn't really come away disappointed. I was really happy to see Guges and Spider Tank Platforms battling it out. The action part and some parts from the manga more than makes up for it. Like I said, I'm so used to most Asian movies being hokey that I can't fault Appleseed's storyline. I didn't sit down expecting Kurosawa or anything. I'm just thankful it's not Oshii. Some things that did bother me are the "too cool" sequences, like Duenan jumping out of the building to get into the Guges. I'd be too freaked out to do that, especially when the word 'TEST' is written all over it. The scene where it disappears from the eye and all you see is the whater splash is definitely cool though. I'm looking forward to more Appleseed stuff to watch.

I didn't mind Robotech as a kid. But BotP was so hard to watch because of 7-Zark-7 and kreeeeeeptup Keeyop. I still haven't seen all of Gatchaman and I don't know if I ever will, but I wouldn't mind seeing a movie based on the Japanese storyline. The airing in L.A. didn't help either, they kept cancelling it and then re-airing the same damn episodes.

I thought it didn't happn because not enough people signed up. You'd think with all the naked JM recasts out there, people would be dying to dress them...

Well Noel revealed the 1/48 GBP before we saw it and the same source told him that it was still on for next year, as well as the YF-19FP... so I still have my hopes up. I think it'll be pretty ballsy for Yamato to do it. ADD: You'd think there'd be some sort of an announcement of a Max figure for the Blue Q-rau...

While it looks like a great toy and it'll have a great action figure to follow, I'm not a big fan of the outdated design. I'm jealous that they didn't give Miria and the Qrau the same treatment.
