Have I walk into the wrong Macrossworld?
EXO replied to Beware of Blast's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
Don't you mean harrassing? The guy should be able to do thing's on his own accord on his own site. Why does he need some lame cheerleader egging him on? It'd be nice actually accomplish something on your own instread of criticizing someone else. WJ's 50% is a whole lot better than the big fat zero you've done for yourself. If a guy goes around calling everything lame, then he's bound to be right half the time. Nanashi might be a pussy for backing out, but after 6 years who can blame him? -

No haterist! Let's just join the rest of this site by picking on people that contribute positively and tell them about stuff that they do that we DON'T like. Of course that would include Shawn, Egan, all the modellers that don't do the models I want them to do, Kawamori (if he was on this site) for making that crappy M7... but hell, we'll be within our rights right? -

Like I said... contributing postively... I consider Nanashi's posts more positive then someone going around telling everyone they don't like 90% of the site that he visits everyday. The guy posted great art, it's our problem that we wanted easier ways to steal it... and yes I did steal a lot of Nanashi's scans... As soon as the Whined up sex toy contributes positiviley, I'll stop being the thorn on his whiny side. He's obviously bothered by it, or else he'd stop PMing me. All he talks about is how others love him... hoorah!!! he's got fwends!!! that's cute... -

Why don't we just bug the sh!t out of Egan too when he chimes in. I mean he owes us those updates that he promised us on the Compendium right? I mean it's suppose to be updated every 1st and 16th. Duke, why don't you take your 6 year community service over there and demand that he do it for you? Like BoB said, people are mighty quick to honor WJ's request to unregister. Without considering that the guy actually provides actual Macross material on his own time. What he does with his site outside of Macrossworld is his own problem. Hell I didn't agree when he started posting that nasy hentai crap. Why wasn't he banned then for good reasons? It's funny to me that Duke thinks so highly of himself that he feels responsible about certain stuff. Anti HG sentimenst? HG brought that upon themselves when they stopped the M+ toys. Did you think that people weren't going to find out about that? The only thing that you were probably responsible for was for alienating Macross fans that weren't afraid to admit that they enjoyed RT when they were kids. Anyone that brought up the name back then was practically crucified in these boards. Of course you and your friends loved that because in your head, that was the MW good old days. And there was never any hentai on MW. And there was never any clean up that you talked about. BoB, Omni and I were pretty much done posting fanart because it got old. I never recieved any letter of warning from anyone. And as I remember it, mods were pretty much involved with posting up pics of Macross women at the time. It was fun but it got old. There was a lot of people coming down on Captain Rico at the time for putting up what look like offensive material. I was one of the ones telling him to stop posting what looked like drawings of underage girls in sexual situations. Just because you opened up a whiney thread in the feedback setion doesn't mean you were the start of something. But as always you'll kiss the ass the mods you so you can take credit for lame accomplishments in your head and back it up with your "i was a AFM member" when the fact is, you never contribute postively to this site. All you do is talk down to people when you don't like something and make up stupid things to whine about. The recent upgrades? Togo responsible? Let me see... according to him the site should shut down, or be upgraded, or go down to sh!t... hmmm hell any of those things could've happened and he can be creditted for it. How about it stays the same, you can take credit for that too. Like I said before, Togo must be a paying customer or his ass kissing must be worth something cuz it sure does buy a lot of freedom here. Later on Albert Whinestein! -
None can be as bad as Ryan Chappelle... lol.

It's the Jack and Tony Power Hour. Man, can Driscoll dig herself into a deeper hole? Every decision she makes is the wrong one, not entirely her fault, she's only following protocol but now she's going to have Curtis mess with some files... it's bound to come up later, and not in a good way for her. As much as I hate side stories I thought Edgar's mom was kinda relevant, up until the point where he decides to get up and pick her up himself... not that I don't believe it, I just don't feel like watching that angle...

Yeah, people clamoring for 1/60 scale destroids should definitely get those. The sculpt is not bad, it could use some articulations though. I have mine in a garage somewhere. Maybe I'll take it out.

He's just holding some missile launchers...

I'd second that... Here's the conversion equations, I know someone said they did it already but I ended up doing it again, just out of curiousity... Phalanx Actual (Ground to searchlight) - 11.27m or 36.97ft 1:60 - 7.40in or 18.78cm 1:48 - 9.24in or 23.48cm Tomahawk Actual (overall including missile rack) - 12.7 m or 41.67ft 1:60 - 8.33in or 21.17cm 1:48 - 10.42in or 26.45cm Actual (to head unit) - 11.27 m 1:60 - 7.40in or 18.78cm 1:48 - 9.24in or 23.48cm Spartan (Ground to shoulder) 11.31 m or 37.10ft 1:60 - 7.42in or 18.85cm 1:48 - 9.28 in or 23.56cm Defender (Ground with antenna) - 11.27 m or 36.97ft 1:60 - 7.40in or 18.78cm 1:48 - 9.24in or 23.48cm Monster (Height to guns' muzzles) - 22.46 m or 73.68ft (damn!) 1:60 - 14.73in or 37.43cm (damn!) 1:48 - 18.42in or 46.79cm (damn!)

Gabe, That rules! Thanks. You made my day. Another scene I get a kick out of... lol... awesome.... that french thing is like your signature now... haha -
I would love to say that scale and quality is not related, but it very well is. For example the SOC line. The quality is top notch and they seem very well detailed enough. But a larger scale the detail would be incredible. You'd probably able to see Koji in the Pilder Hovercraft. Another example, albeit pathetic one, is the Toynami Alpha. I'm not a big critic of the Alpha, but it seriously suffers from being too small. The landing gears were too small and in lineart the wheels are large compared to the rest of the plane. This would have been able to lift it off the ground more and not have the chest sitting on the ground in fighter mode. The pilot and cockpit would have been a better sculpt (same as the 1/60 valk) and the joints would have been a better design because there would have been room for washers and larger screws. Those joints are seriously just hanging on the the plastic that you see outside. There's no reinfocements. Though I have no doubt that quality and detail can be acheived at a smaller scale, but at that point you'd be asking for one hell of a sculptor and more resilient material to withstand being so small and thin.

If it was the Cheyenne I'd definitely drool over a 1/48 scale. It has a lot more detail and I'd have to consider it roller blade stance a whole different mode. I don't think they would...
-
Aren't the bigger Matchbox Destroids close to 1/60 scale? Except for the Phalanx sissy little missiles, those are pretty ok.
-
A network considers cost and ratings for a show's survival. SAAB nubers prolly didn't justify its cost. X-Files was a cult show in the beginning before it became a bonafide hit. Meaning it had low ratings but was higher than their other shows and costed less to produce.
-
But you gotta admit, it's those cliff hangers that get you wanting to see the next one as soon as they roll the credits... Oh yeah, Bruce Willis was a ghost in Sixth Sense, has been the whole time after he got shot...
-
Wolfx, aren't you in the LA area? They had a special screening at the Shrine Con. I'm gonna see it next week, but like MSW said, the look is very close to the Matrix. There must be a shortage in british actors when they can't find someone suitable for this and 007.

OK, on that note... I'll leave this thread alone, I'm running out of whiney names for Sir Whine A Lot... let me know when the contest starts, if ever... we all know how influential our former AFM dignitary is... It's all yours, Whiney Doodle Dandy...
-
hehe... I already said I would if you would... I'll make a skin if there's a contest... I guess it's put up or shut up time, or would you like some cheese with your whine? speaking of skin, how's yours holding up? Am I getting under it?
-
I'm sure you take comfort in that... I suppose there isn't anyone laughing at the fact you're considered a whiney whines a lot... And I'm sure you think whining is a lot more important than joining conversions in a more constructive manner.

Well, not anime but since we're doing an A1 tribute... Hey Max why does your post make me want to listen to Nine Inch Nails? -
You're right! His flair for over dramatics is also responsible for... for... for the life of me I can't think what. Anyway, I don't see that his whining now has accomplished anything yet. But as soon as as Shawn says it official, sure I'll throw my hat in as long as Whine Gretzky does the same. I wouldn't want him on my back screaming "where's that skin you promised us EXO? Where is it???" And don't try to claim the recent site upgrade as Bruce Whine's accomplishment. I'm sure Shawn saw his last whine-a-rama and decided to take time off work. And inspired Seichii to start a web store.

It still has that akward CG people in it, but since its frm the maker of Thunderbirds I wouldn't expect anything else. The mechs look great!
-
It's amazing that its been a consistent 40% -1:48 vs. 60% -1/60 since the poll was put up... but the 1/60 fans are more outspoken.

you mean blankity blank blank is gonna end up blankiting the blank??? That's it! I'm skipping next season...
