Good luck man, 150 pieces are sold at event-only, and the other 350 pieces are raffled out to Japan residents. Even with Yahoo Japan auctions, expect to fork over more than $500 for one of these. yeah, that's why i don't buy any medicom figures... too rich for my blood. Even that $99 Venom is too much for me... but they sure are cool!

I think I can do small figures pretty decently. Here's a couple of pics of some that I've done. One is scratchbuilt. I wanted a better looking DYRL figure but Yamato beat me to it when they released the Hikaru 1S. But mine had a fully detailed backpack complete with boosters. The other is a modified TV pilot. I took of the visor and though it's hard to see it has the hair flop and the groovy big collars. This pilot is intended to be diplayed for valks in atmosphere. I can donate Minmay and Hikaru in his fanracer suit when this project begins free of charge.

What are your thoughts on the pilots Cap?

It says 1/15 on that little sign. The previous one they displayed before had a 1/18 microman on it, and it looked about right. Plus I thought they always sculpted it scaled up then it gets manufactured at a smaller size. IIRC.

They also used Adam Warren books for the Dirty Pair figures... Oh Yamato, why do you hurt me so!!!

Man, it's ScopeDog Fever over there. Takara and Kaiyodo have their own products coming out.

They're clearly allocating their funds that they made on Macross stuff on other projects... maybe if those don't do so well they'll go back to old reliable... Sorry you couldn't get the LS 19 man...

Don't forget that if you change the chestplate to straighten the neckline, you need to change the corresponding piece that attaches to it in fighter mode. Hopefully the longer canopy will raise the part that holds the neck in Battloid mode because the straightened neckline will cover up half the head on a regular 1/48. But like yousaid it's too early to tell how it will turn out. But that piece that sits behind the chestplate will need to be replaced too, which will affect it if someone were to want to put a FP on it, because the part that holds the backpack down is connected to that piece. Also, you need some bulby parts on the wingtips of the VT and the VE. And some interlocking device would be needed to secure the backpack down since the backpack position is different with these to FP valks. I'm sure Cap can address this when he gets to it. I'm just looking at my 1/48s and wondering how its gonna happen.

I don't believe it was Yamato that was trying to get the Mospeada license. It's a different company. I believe they released the Stick/Rei figure and the Yellow figure prior to this WF and was posted here. Thanks Howard and Rob. Sad, sad news about Yamato and Macross. But I'm not that worried, I'm sure if Yamato drops the license some other smaller company will be scrambling to pick it up. I just hope it'll be one that puts out quality products and has good QC. *crosses finger*
