Only the valks that are based on the TV series schemes have the hands you're looking for. That's the Hikaru-1J and Super 1J, the Max and Miria Super 1Js. the only thing you should concern yourself with is the headrests... the first released 1/48s had headrests that didn't have the concave dip that the newer ones did. You can see this without opening the boxes. The only ones with all the improvements that didn't have the dipped headrests are the Max 1A and Low Viz. But ALL the Max 1As and the all the LVs have all the fixes that the first generation 1/48s needed. From there on all the valks are identical (as far as the improvements). I don't think you can tell the difference between the 2nd generation Hikaru 1A and the 3rd.

the suit looks lame. They shoulda made the "S" on the chest bigger. They shoulda just stuck with the classic design... BTW, the muscles are "enhanced" by the suits with built in highlights and shadows.

The whole tightness of the landing gear and doors depends on how well the cockpit seat box leans on these things.

Rob Bottin is the designer responsible for Robocop and ED-209. He's was one of the best designers during the 80's sci-fi era. He also did a lot of make up effects for Legend, The Howling, The Thing, Total Recall, Seven and Fight Club.
