Roy's right about the turtleneck part... that uniform on that man doll is awesome, but it's a total mess around the neck. The 1/100 is interesting. I'm gonna reserve judgement until I see more of it. When they first showed the Alpha it had solid canopies. I'm gonna wait to see what the quality is, the cockpit situation and to see if the gunpod can be displayed with the landing gears down. If it meets all those criterias, I might get these. I'm no fan of the smaller scaled valks like the 1/60s, but these might be cool to display next to the Monster.

I had a ton of responsibility, but one of the smaller problems in the Fraternity turned out to be one of the most chalanging. The guys who lived in the house were slobs... They would get dishes dirty and just leave em in the sink till the sink filled up, then they would just let em stack on the counter till they could make some pledge clean it up. It made the entire downstairs (and this was a HUGE 12 bedroom victorian mansion) just a sh!tty place to be. I had a solution. I took ALL the plates, glasses, cups and other glassware, put it in boxes and threw it all off of the roof. I am talking like HUNDREDS of plates and glasses. Yes my Fraternity Brothers though I was an a-hole, but what do you know.. The house didn't get dirty again... I had a policy. I see a glass, I break it. I'm a big SDF/DYRL fan. Flashback is an added bonus... I don't care about the rest, including M+. I love the animation and the design of the YF-19, but when I think Macross, I want to see huge space battles with an epic story behind it. Which brings me to M7... I don't want to see singing pilots in those huge battles, especially with reused to death sequences. M0, like M+, great animation with good battle scenes, unlike M+ the story is completely stupid and the hero was a pansy. M2 good designs, but more pointless story. I don't really see why they decided it wasn't good enough to be macross when the rest of the sequels fail to live up to the original. So for me it's only the original saga that I'm interested in. I'll collect the nice looking toys but I can care less about the other serieses.

I don't know what's more silly, this thread or every new "I love M7 thread". Problem 1: A new M7 thread starts and A1 is quick to post how he hates M7 followed by non related quips about his muscles and testicles by both him and his muscle and testicle fans. Then the thread gets locked. Problem 2: A new thread pops up. Then see Problem 1. Maybe if the M7 appreciation threads were left alone there would be less of them. Disagreeing is one thing but it becomes so much of a tard contest that it's always going to be closed. Like I said before, why not complain to Kawamori about it instead of whining to people that happen to appreciate it. Obviously, the froating head's effort didn't go in vain since there are actually people out there that enjoy it. Mocking M7 people in M7 threads is the equivalent to RT fans mocking SDF Macross. But if it was done, we'd be all up in arms against the "trolls".

Not all toys... but Macross toys specifically Yamato more high end stuff and the 1/55s have no question of going up in price. The engineering that goes into these babies are the sort of craftmanship that will retain and surpass it's value. We all saw it happen to the Takatokus and Bandais in the 90s and that's only 10 years off. Even if the 1/48 line failed today (which is wishful thinking) the small amount of 1/48s that would have been produced would be well seeked out in the future. But Macross is a small enough property that it can't compete with Gundam or transformers. Even with it's repeated release of 1/48 toys, it's still a small enough run that can garner a lot of future fans seeking to complete their collections. Macross fandom will surely die off someday, but I dont think it'll be anytime soon. And as for me, it'll never be the case.

Been a Macross freak for over 20 years. There was no slowing down for me when the well was almost empty, I don't think I'll ever slow down being one. As long as they pump out grade A products, I think I'll keep getting them. It'd be better if they pumped out grade A entertainment along with the toys.

The REAL HERO of Macross is the guy that decided that they should release more 1/48s. Right now, that's who I'm looking up to. If someone decides to officially release 1/48 2 seaters, then they'll be my hero forever.

This is my first trip home in a year and a half and I want to get as much done as I can while I'm there. As for the DVDs, you can get plenty of copies of M0 (bootlegged) but I haven't seen the FX version in a while. The best place to get it is Kevin's VEX. PM him to see if he has any left. As for other Macross items, the merchandise has really died down for Macross. The place with the best Macross inventory is Tisinc. But there are plenty of other anime booths there.
