Woah... man... diecast! so awesome! -
I guess in that sense, do you really see Big West frakking Arcadia over like that?

do you really think there's a chance that Arcadia will let that license go? Arcadia folding up is probably closer to reality. a 1:18 VF-1? Can you imagine how big that would be? The VF-1 nose should be right around where the front seat of the tomcat is... I wonder if that's where anime magic will start to fall apart or would they have to make the figure slightly smaller than 1:18... lol. Let's have Kurisama design a 1:18 VF-1 just to see it in a render...

If Arcadia chose to pick up Yamato's 1/48 VF-1 toy license by paying for it, then Bandai can't do it. But a few people have been pointing out the fact that Bandai has been producing their valks as non-scale toys. If that's the case they can probably make a VF-1 that's more comparable to their VFs in "box" scale as someone else called it. As horrible looking their 1/72 VF-1 model was, I think the DX designers have a better grip on how their toys look. But they do look more like toys then the Arcadia/Yamato line. With their big landing gears and shiny texture. They look great in that regard though.

well we know that they have precedence for the VF-19 Advance from the Frontier movie. Is it the same with the VF-1A on top of the school? And would only be for Hikaru's 1A? Does Bandai even need precedence?

I'm enjoying this season so far. Yeah I'm getting separation anxiety from the main group but aside from the Glen/Maggie episode and Beth's story being stretched for an hour by itself, I think this is the best season so far. I just don't want it to become the "who do we have to save from which crazy group" recycled storyline over and over.

I think he's talking about for the Hasegawa 1/48.

Isn't that what models are for? But yeah I wish the whole line would have been 1/48 but that would have made rest of the VFs too expensive the make. I'm guessing after the 1/72 Plus and the first 1/60 VF-1, Yamato wanted to make valkyries approx 12", hence the 1/48 vf-1 and 1/60 everything else and that's when the 1/60 scale stuck. Most people would have a problem putting toys next to models because of aesthetics... hell, even as anime52k8 some people have problems putting one toy next to the other. Is it me or is Bandai more of a box scale company when it comes to Macross toys? As far as a new VF-1, I'm somewhat doubting it but would love to be wrong.

I was listening to postshowrecaps after the episode last night and there's one aspect I agree with. Without the whole Washington DC. storyline, there isn't much for the show to head to. I was kinda happy when they introduced Eugene because of that one thing. Now it seems like they're gonna get into the rut of saving someone within "the family" from some crazy post apocalyptic commune. So far the pacing of the season has picked up, so I haven't thought about it but the last three episodes without Rick and the rest of the gang has me uneasy. It's like watching Game of Thrones without any King's Landing storylines. They should really learn on how to intermix these storylines into single episodes. Carol's flashbacks weren't really necessary apart from the whole fire/smoke symbolism. Which I'm not really into. Aside from the rant... great things this episode:

that's exactly what I was considering putting it next to. Those the best SDs valks, IMO.

The gun is straight... it's the valk that crooked!!!

Looking at them both side by side magnifies things I don't like either. The toynami version needs to be more beefy and all the articulation of the Mad Toys version and the Mad Toys need a few proportions adjusted. But the handling looks great on the video.

That was the pound I think... not really sure. Just came back from this... mindblowingly awesome. I'm still reeling... so pumped up! He can't act... some of the deliveries were so wooden. But for some reason he knows which movies not to act in...- 220 replies

This thing is so much more gorgeous in person. I took videos but as always, we talked too much crap and my and Nick's vulgar mouth can't stop cussing when talking lol. I need to edit out the sound. It's practically going to a museum. At least it'll be somewhere safe and appreciated. Props!

I honestly think this is the best way to mass market a monster. It's light (vinyl), I really could care less about articulation on something that doesn't have a humanoid robot form because it's not like it can hold a gun or take a running pose. And it'll be released in color, assuming it has all the appropriate markings. 10 years ago, it would have been great if Yamato could have released their $350 price point 1/60 version but today, that's an impossible dream. The closest you'll get to a custom made one is Mike's project but it'll end up to be a similar non articulated display piece with optional features that you have the choice of building yourself. An articulated 1/60 one would probably need special material like metal joints for stop motion animation or 3D printed nylon joints.
