Yeah, that's why I've already decided that I would do that, but for now its too late... like I said though, I think there maybe people out there that just happen to be sitting on art work that they think would do fairly good this month. Boxer, you shouldn't let that discourage you, your shouldn't wait it out until you think less talented people are gonna enter, it should be that you're pushing yourself to be as good or even better so you can enter whenever you want. I think I have in me to compete with these guys, but it'll take me about 2 months to complete a piece worthy. But if it takes that long to do it, then that's what it takes. But remember, it doesn't have to be CG or painted art. It could be a custom model or toy. All we need is something that's composed well in one picture that people would probably want to have it as their wallpapers on their computers.

They should really use an unknown, someone that won't leave the project after one movie, or they're so famous that they start to make they're insane demands over the cost of the character or story. You want someone hungry for the role not some primadonna that thinks she needs a good franchise to destroy. *cough cough* Halle Berry*cough cough* AS far as looks, she should look something like this!

That's a great idea WDC... I'll do that next month. But at the same time it also inspires fanart that goes beyond the scope of fanart. I still consider a lot of the other last month's entries to be above the quality of regular stuff we see on the web. Now it's just getting exciting.

I dont think anyone, especially noobs, will ever know what each color mean unless they look at the key first, unless it tells you right on the icon what it means.

But there IS a key... I have no idea what those skulls mean right now unless I look at the key. There's a suitcase symbol that's in the Other Anime section that I have no idea what it's for. I didn't even know that there was an unread icon until I saw that Minmay. The Lock and moved Icons, IMO, are the least important because you see it less than any icon on the boards. As much as people complain about their topics being oved or locked, it's still a rare occurence.

I dont like the padlock and basic arrow... how about the Beware of Blast symbol for moved and the circle vernier for locked, if not the skulls. Js style!

OMG... you guys rock... I'm so glad I started this contest now. I wish I could make a cofee table book with all the winner's pieces in it... I'm hoping to enter the contest one of these days too and I'd have to turn up the notch a lot just to keep up.

I like Js' icons. I agree with the set up that most wants... mainly kites and skulls for locked threads, and the small arrow for moved items. If it's possible to cut back a little tad on the highlights that would be cool, if not, then I dont think its a big deal.

Blur alone wont do it. Try adding noise to the original picture then blur it. The VF has definite pixelation that was streched whe you upsized it.
