Actually, there's 2 of you and you're both in South Africa! Man, We need 19 more for the big 300 mark! We need someone from Greenland... and Antartica? lol.
-
ooops... errr... I'm kidding about the slashed tires too! Oh man! NB4M, So the heatshield issue IS NOT an issue? I'm gonna come by and check that baby out! No, not the one in your wife's tummy... the VF-1D.
-
If it did transform I would buy more than one. But at 1/18 and super detailed... I'd have to have one. And I dont believe people that say they won't. You guys waste your money of POS Toynami crap because they're "just OK toys" would pass up something like an oversized, detailed and painted up the ying yang valk? I dont think so.
-
I would get a 1/18 scale VF-1 or VF-0 from BBI or 21st century if it was super detailed. The microman pilot figure would be awesome too. The VF-0 would be huge!
-
I might have to prove you wrong....later. 421157 how much later?
-
lol... unless he customized them to look like 1/60s, I don't think that's a custom 1/48. 421127 :ro The VF-1D in Metal_Massacre_79's pic might not be 1/48, but this one is! 421192 Uhhh yeah... and? 421200 Uhhh...and...I just thought Vermillion21 might like to see pictures of a 1/48 VF-1D since he asked for more pics from Metal_Massacre_79 (who actually posted pics of the 1/60 VF-1D). Capiche? 421206 capiche! My favorite one is Datterboy's, the guy who abandoned collecting 1/48s all together.

that's very interesting! I've never seen those two before.

Spoilerish reply: The middle part with Gong li was pretty long and contrived. I bet it would have worked great over 6 episodes of a TV series, but basically it went like this: Crockett: Would you like a drink. Gong Li: How about f'n my brains out in Havana instead. Do you know how to salsa? Crocket: Yes! Gong Li: I love you forever! But after that it was awesome. Good guys, bad guys. Guns! Guts and brains all over the place! Good old violence! I liked it more than Heat. Heat was pretty boring except for the big gun fight. I'm not a big fan of Bad Boys or those overblown action movies, but I like good pacing and a story in my cops and robbers and this pretty much delivered. Oh man they blew away those guys with a 50mm sniper rifle... OMG it was glorious! 3.5 biatches! Half a point off for the ugly HD cinematography. I can't believe the guy that brought us that beautiful lush scenes from Last Of The Mohicans is all into this into this wannabe gritty look. It's not stylish, it's crap. I think maybe the look of Tony Scott's Man on Fire would better suit this movie.

Sculpey is a polymer clay. It's holds it's shape pretty well and is sandable after its been heated. Only use Sculpey 2. The other ones are not that great to work with.
-
that looks cool... need to get better proportions though. She looks like she's stuck between SD and sexy figure. It should be one or the other.
-
The Garland is a one off so far and they obviously had enough success to venture onto the Votoms arena. It's strange that they haven't released more pilots for that line though. I dont get why they can't make figures that sell for less than $30. They're regular action figures with a couple of extra hands and head. But the 2 seaters have enough variables to not consider them a one off, but could be different enough to be considered a whole different line of 1/48 Macross toys.
-
ACtually there would be 4 variations to sell. The VT, VE, and 2 1Ds. The Trainer and the Virgin Road. Not to mention Yamato isn't totally against custom schemes. There's some room to milk the molds. But the VT and VE have slightly different canopies, wings and tails from the D and have the unique fast packs.

bubbleburstingbotherbucker! rackinfrackininjun!!!

They're obviously making enough money that they might consider a major retool. The current 1/48 might not be able to be converted can it be said that it's truly impossible to make a 2 seater at 1/48 scale?
-
What say you now? With all the 1/48 threads coming up, I thought I'd bump this up so no one will start a new one.

it's all about the boobs! Well here's the beginning of the sculpt. I'm only going to use aluminum foil instead of an armature because there's no real limb action going on. I'm using the 1/6 scale head to gauge the size of the body... I wont be using it on the final sculpt. covered with Sculpey Here's the preliminary sculpt of the body... to answer UNSpacy's question about perspective, I don't think you have to worry about perspective all that much when sculpting because it's in 3D... you have to worry more about proportion. Perspective will take care of itself unless you're doing forced perspective stuff as in the movies. the heat gun is your friend when working with sculpey. The instruction says to use the oven, but when you're heating it layer by layer its faster with the heat gun. And you can concentrate it to certain areas that you just worked on. When you sculpt a big chunk of stuff then you can take it to the oven, but I do that rarely. The aluminum foil not only serves as a money saving filler and armature but it also heats up the inside of the clay for further thorough hardening. pinky street Minmay! Here's how it looks so far with the kusinagi head Thanks to UN Spacy for the screenshot... I used them a little for reference.

It should be OK, though with the recent news of all the new Yamato stuff, dont be suprised if you get bumped to the second page quickly, that section is just going nuts right now.

Ack, I can't believe I did that - TWICE even.. I am the reigning champ for the world's worst typist And yeah I'll agree that only the vf-1 (and the zero - though I haven't really looked at it that much ) have a gerwalk mode that's any kind of tolerable, but I've always loved the vf1's G mode to death, especially when they have the legs bent foward the correct way, and a littel outward angle - IE> Everything a stock Bandai isn't 420014 Fixed! And don't say that I never use my powers for good, even though evil is more fun... also I just noticed when I was editting the typos... I can totally change the numbers of votes!!!! MWUAHAHAHAHA... that's kinda lame though, what's the point of that?

I have a vinyl cutter, so I can just make templates of the stickers after I scan them... too bad it cant do small items like the UN SPACY marks... Damn I need a new cutter.
