The people saying bandai can make good toys aren't saying Yamato can't... it just depends on who has the license and what they decide to do with it.

I purposely avoided this thread while I caught up with the series...

I read that article a couple of weeks ago in the issue of EW. There's a couple of things I disagreed with. First of all I do agee that the pacing was way too slow. And also agree with establishing what was at stake early, though I'm not sure that that's too much of the problem. Sometimes you can go with the mystery of why these people are getting killed until the end and still reveal what's really at stake at the last minute. But I don't really agree that you can't do romance on a show like this. You just got to do it right. Realize that your not doing "The Notebook" or "Moonstruck". If the romance weighs in to some degree with having powers and the complications that could arise, then yeah... it's ok. And it seems like that's what they did with Claire and Fey Flying Boy but the storyline was just cheesy and repetitive. Didn't we already go thru the whole "I'm an outsider even though I look good in a cheerleading outfit" with Claire last season? Why do it again. How about pushing forward with the character and showing what decisions she makes now that she knows what she is? I don't' believe that Hiro was in Medieval japan too long... I do believe that he was there too long and didn't really do anything... first we got some lame Cyrano De Bergerac story with the ugliest princess. Is it that hard to find a cute asian chick nowadays? And Hiro was in Japan, the best place to learn how to be a great samurai and he ends up babysitting some spoiled Gaijin. I think there was an obvious storyline there somewhere but they were afraid it was too obvious and went with nothing better. Again, I dont think they introduced the new characters the wrong way... theyjust didn't do anything with them... everytime we saw the plague siblings it was the same thing over and over... "Don't make me angry... you won't like me when I'm angry" OK. We get it... she's dangerous. Then it becomes a road trip with Sylar... now you got 3 people just sitting it the car... Awesome? or useless. I don't care if the Heroes barely cross... it's even better because when they do meet, it becomes a special event. I remember the first time Peter and Hiro met up in the subway... it made my skin crawl... ingenius! When Parkman and Jessica were shooting at each other and Parkman thought Nikki had a partner. Even when Peter first learned that his brother was the one that can fly... it was unexpected. A genuine surprise. Each scene pushed the story forward and complete opposite of what Chapter 2 was. I made myself watch this season because I loved the first season so much... I hope they make it up to me with Chapter 3 or else I'm skipping it and I'm just going to watch Journeyman.

Sometimes when people do realistic proportions or add realism to their drawing, as in Brian Hitch and Alex Ross, it looks even more fantastic than the overdone straining steroid freak with multiple muscle on muscle... I mean when you see someone draw a huge guy with a huge gun that has overblown arms wrapped it bendable metal... you almost expect him to kick ass with no exertion. Now Captain America, drawn in a believable manner, jumping out of an airplane, not gritting his teeth but obviously calculating his next move after he lands tells me more about him and his character. Like I said, I don't mind the exaggerated look either but either one has to have some sort of effort... When I buy books I like to think that people put some work into it and it's not drawn by some kid during class because he didn't feel like listening to the teacher.

It's not that I'm against exaggerations and over the top. I just feel like he lacks flair and any type of artistic merit. His poses are so stiff and his designs are so bland and unoriginal. The faces he draws are usually the same no matter what the dialogue is. There some people like Joe Mad that are masters of the exaggerated body types but still contains a lot of fluidity and style (who I think is another a-hole due to being a flake and never finishing Battle Chasers). Rob Liefeld adds to his demerits not only because he can't draw, but he steals ideas and other people's money... I can't really understand why people would be his fans... I'll just chalk it up to bad taste. His upbringing in a strict family was probably what screwed him up morally. Maybe he thought he was above paying people.

I'd like to see Bandai try ... only if they do it in scale with the Yamato toys... or even bigger. They have to have some inkling by now how much people buy expensive Macross toys... Even at a low run it's still a good profit. Hopefully if they get on the ball, we can see a lot more Macross in the Hobby magazines instead of Gundams after Gundams...

Wow... another Image reboot... woot. Three issues and then disappears into nothing. How many times have they rebooted WildCats and barely made a splash... and Jim Lee is a well liked guy. Rob Liefeld also burned a lot of comic book professionals by not paying them...
-
Wow... And I thought McFarlane's Oz figures were stupid. Innovation for these guys is putting women in scantily cut clothing and a huge grimace on men's faces.

I'm so glad it isn't just me that feels this way about this chapter of Heroes. As I may or may not have mentioned before... Sylar should have died that last episode of Season One... he really is useless once you get passed the whole I can steal powers crap... I would have preffered if Hiro chopped his dome off right before Nathan and Peter flew away. As for people not coming back, I was wishing that it was DL and Parkman that died. I like Parkman but being shot was a good way out. the only ones that the story should follow are Peter and Nathan, Claire and HRG, Hiro and Ando and Mohinder. I know that MOST of them were weak this season... but they were so uncharacteristic from the original season. I'd rather have Isaac back than Nikki and and her kid. Isaac's been dead and they're still pumping out his comics. How much of it did he draw before he died? Hell. Comic book artists barely have the time to finish titles and this guy is a year ahead of his stories? I hope the writer strike gets rid of the writers this season... I have a feeling that Brian Fuller was the brain last season, not Tim Kring. As soon as he left the series just went to the crapper.

Oh I know it does!!! JK! But it kinda looks like it to me.

They can't get rid of the plastic in between. It csecures the hinge that turns the headlights... they need to taper it to go behind the headlights and extend the lights toward the middle.

maybe its clear just to show the LEDs. Looks like ride armor mode has leds on the chests too.

There hasn't really been any new venues for them to display their toys, has there? That's my assumption... all the other stuff has been shown in Japan and Toynami is an American company. The reason we saw their tlead is because it's a joint venture with Aoshima. That's me being fair... but I'm assuming the real reason is because they suck.

Sarcos should do a 1:1 version.

Plus the fact that the article said it was photoshopped, I think that was the big tip-off...

I think he's hunting for his special bottle of Geritol.

Do you like just click on any section to randomly post stuff? NOT TOYS...

you dont' have to make it... someone here will buy it and recast it for the rest of us... haha. The CMs looks good again... it seems that the visor look big because that's the nature of small toys. if it was any smaller it'd probably be zip lock plastic bag thin. But I'd have to say, aside from that it's very well proportioned. Still too expensive though. They're definitely trying to hide the black hip guard... hopefully it's just for the preliminary shots... but if you notice, the lights, handlebars, hands and a bunch of other grey parts are molded in white so it seems like these are just test molds. It looks like the swing arm for the wheels are die cast... just like the old Gakkens. Interest in Toynami versions are sinking like a rock... the only way they can get me back would be to make 1/6 scale versions, haha. I'm still surprised they pulled off Voltron... I just realized I'm most active in this thread... I love me my Mospeada.

So, these are suppose to have BETTER materials and are CHEAPER than Revoltechs... this I have to see. But they better get the REGULTS, GLAUGS AND THE MACROSS on the list quick or I'll lose interest fast. I wouldnt mind more VF-1s but I'd have to see something against it or another line is just not worth it.
