  1. You just figured out what it takes to be a Macross collector?
  2. I agree... We'll see the Blow Superior for sure or else the Robotech people will be one or 2 boxes short of a collection. And I mean that literally not figuratively.... well....
  3. EXO

    yamato's next move

I can't believe that they can't just adjust the molds to make 2 seaters... but then again, I don't want them to make it and then sell it at a limited 1000.
  4. Well maybe if you can get the original cast back together with Roddenberry, we can get the old trek back... and I can use the DVD as a sleeping aid.
  5. Seriously? Novaflo... you have to make a new profile just because you're too proud to continue posting as yourself??? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...mp;#entry524361
  6. no ill will... just making fun of the fact that almost all MW movie thread starts off 3 or 4 years before as a bashfest. But as a JJ Abrams fan... I stand by my code... WWJJD?
  7. it's so shiny!!!! hmmm... there's a but in (but)ton. jk carry on!
  8. alright, got a couple of complaints. I hope you guys reached the end of that argument... back to topic please... no ifs, no buts, no excuses, no apologies... tnx! (puts finger on suspension button.... MWUAHAHAHAHAHA)
  9. It made the missile pod too big and out of scale with the 1/48. I like this better.
  10. Plus, can you really just collect Robotech toys? Are there people that just buys Toynami stuff or even just the SDF macross stuff and never venture into DYRL? I'm sure there are some that just by three valks but are there completists that just stay on the Robotech side? I can see Macross people staying away from Robotech toys or even Mac+ or MacSeven toys, they may buy Mospeada stuff but I can't see people that just stays on the Robotech fence. Well unless your last name rhymes Yoon or Schmakmeever...
  11. Who's Ace? hahaha... j/k. I never got the Skystriker... wanted it so badly. I love the F-14 because of the movie "The Final Countdown". If only they had a show were it can transform into a robot and the USS Nimitz was on the arm of an even bigger robot... le sigh!
  12. Another thing... the aliens didn't bother me at all... they weren't your typical forehead aliens aside from the already established romulans and vulcans. Which is good because now I can face one person I know that worked on them. I think he's going to see it in IMAX to check out how it holds up ten stories high.
  13. The story did certainly take a back seat. The ending was of course convenient and totally didn't matter what they did... it was like "Hey guys I'm pretty sure we can mumbo jumbo techno lingo our way out of this" "Dammit I bet you're right, let's wait til the last second for dramatic effect!" But I was so sold. The crowd where I went was going insane... There were a couple of trekkies in front of me and I thought they were going to be annoying but they were into it too. Each character got their moment and the action pieces were well done. I could input my small complaints but I'll be nitpicking. Alright well Eric Bana sucks... that's one. But overall it was a good film. It's not a brainless piece of summer garbage even though the main storyline was just a showcase for the characters. Maybe the next one will be even better now that the players know the field. Yes, it does out prequeled the "Prequels."
  14. I'm sure that you're in no way compromising the intergrity of Michael Bay's film. The only thing I wonder about is how big do they write "BOOM" in these comic books.
  15. I knew before watching the original airings that it wasn't all the same show. Having watched anime in the Philippines then coming here and seeing how they changed stuff all the time (Mazinger>Tranzor, Gachaman>Battle Of The Planet) it didn't even phase me. I had the toys before, the 1/100 bootlegs with the weird guns, later on the Takatokus, before the show aired. And then in the opening sequence you see a lot of robots and characters that they never showed during the Macross Saga so you kinda had the feeling something was up. And by the time the Southern started, that first episode with Max and Miria editted in, pretty much solidified what I thought they were doing. No clue at the time why, but there were so much shenanigans with animes back then that you just shrug it off... It wasn't until I came here to MW that I realized that people are angry over it.
  16. woohoo!
  17. Alright Ginrai, I'm not even gonna argue with you... We're on 2 different arguments... you're defending SC and I'm trying to point out that HG will never live up to their fans' standards.
  18. actually, it's exactly what I would do... haha...
  19. SC wasn't traditional 2D though... It had a lot of 3D animated sequences. And in 3D you can only do the shortcuts after you do all the work in modeling. My point with attaching that clip was to say that there are plenty of people that would love to work on Robotech but they can never afford to hire them, which is probably the same point you have. The thing is HG will never put in the money it would take to make a good show. And if they did, they would never step out of their box to hire good creative people... said it before. And as the fanart status, it doesn't cost any more to do good character design and a good story. If you're going to put out something Robotech, a product that's always going to be associated with Macross, you'd at least have to surpass or match animation like that of Macross Plus...something that was done over a decade ago. You just can't show up in 2007 or 8, whatever year it came out and decide you're going to come out with sublevel crud.
  20. When you set up a story where everything is stacked up against you, you owe the audience a smart triumphant ending. It sounds like Spawn just petered out. On the Valiant end, the problem was that they sold to Acclaim and Shooter was kicked out. Reminds me of when they ousted John Kricfalusi from Ren and Stimpy. How can you do that?
