  1. I actually agree with you David... seeing how toys go from the chunky Monekey to the 1/48 and 1/60 v.2. and the Gakken Mospeada to the Beagle Mospeada, I would love something that took that kind of leap and bounds. but the alternative with these type of combiners is the SOC which to me are too small. I'm glad that the Lion Voltron was kept at that size and contained the articulation that it does. Plus I dont think the SOCs have made that type of advancement that you can compare to Yamato and say... the MP Transformers. They are a lot better but they are closer to Toynami's Voltron than they are to the other companies.
  2. I say we nuke it from orbit.
  3. All not true... Shirley Eaton is still alive. She's 71 years old and lives in Middlesex England... She wrote her biography in 1999.
  4. Rook flew her red Alpha, Rand flew the Green Alpha more than he did the Beta, Lancer flew the Beta than he did the Green alpha. They were all in the show. But the main pilot that fought was Scott and the others used cyclones most of the time.
  5. The Regults were definitely scaled at 1/100 by Toynami. For some reason I don't have the pics anymore (damn ImageShack) but the article is still at Robotech.com's page. Still way disappointed that they are going with the vinyl treatment as opposed to plastic injection... The primed version in the box already had it's joints removed which means less articulation. Not that interested in 1/100 scale anyway. I don't consider the Toynami Valks/Veritechs to be 1/100... the parts are so proportionally mismatched it loses the reason of giving it scale.
  6. I'm unloading my pics from my camera and I just remembered I dont have anywhere to host them. Frickin' imageshack wiped out my account for no reason and I can't stand photobucket. I'll figure out where to host it tonight or tomorrowand I'll post away. Videos too.
  7. During SDCC09, I got a chance to talk to Toynami and they asked me if there would be any interest in a new Vehicle Voltron... my answer was "frakk Yeah!" If and only if it matched or was better quality than the Lion Voltron and had the articulation that the SOCs had today. I loved the Vehicle Voltron as a kid and thought that the more serious tone was a bit more interesting. And while Bandai has been making all the other giant robots I grew up with... (Voltes V, Grendizer, Mazinger Z and Daimos) The only one missing from that line up was Dairugger XV. I also got a look at the new plastic version of the Lion Voltron and thought it was pretty good. While I'm not a big fan of their Robotech/Macross line. I think that they are giving Voltron some justice. Anyone else up for a updated Vehicle Voltron? It was a question in a very informal talk, nothing official... but I wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way I did.
  8. It looks good, but reminds me of another sci-fi show... on a spaceship looking for earth... hmmm...
  9. Woohoo! Those guys are always in ninja warriors. But I bet they can't jump over cars backwards.
  10. Toynami won't be aquiring anything nor have they stepped forward to make any effort, so don't hold your breath on that account. Another subject of interest is the lack of news about the megahouse Mospeada front. It looks like that line is dead too. I haven't checked the booth for it but I don't remember seeing it displayed. There's a good possibility the glaug is next but I'm not really interested in vynil toys. Kinda disappointed that it's not an injection mold piece.
  11. The Beagle line is done. No beagle. No toynami.
  12. Well here we are again at SDCC. This year as impossible as it sounds the comicon is more hectic than ever. Preview night was a mess and today there's a 4 hour wait just to get into the exhibition hall early. No pics just yet. I'm posting from my iPhone and limited wifi at the hotel. As we all heard toynami has announced the cancellation of the Beagle Mospeasa line. There was news rumbling weeks before but this is the first official report of it. It was mentioned at MWCon but it was during an informal discussion so we decided not to leak it out. Sadly we won't get to own the fume ride armor and never see the long awaited blowsuperior. Thanks to the designer for his great efforts for making a dream toy come true. Usually Yamato USA has their booth next to triple A Anime but aside from a few statues. I didn't see the displays they usually put up. Pics to come. Anyone else at the event welcome to post of course.
  13. There was never any plans for a plastic alpha release. That was just something we thought of as fans that would cool because the alphas were so crappily manufactured with diecast parts where it didn't make sense.
  14. Kirik did most of the work himself. I worked on the flyers and the shirts and contacted some sponsors but the bulk of the work was all him. I have a couple of big projects for SDCC and that took me away and bigkid left for business overseas. Next year is Macrossworld's 10th Anniversary, I think that we should go for broke BIG or not do it at all. If we move the con to a different time of year and if we can get volunteers to help with the planning then I think Kirik would be able to head the 10th Anniversary in a more manageable condition.
  15. Let me put your mind at ease right now, that NO nothing announced at Comicon will change the legal situations. I'm assuming that your talking about the ominous statement that people are hinting at.
  16. The upcoming (haha) RLAM has gone up and stirred up the hive.
  17. Solscud is there... he's in charge of the volunteers or something.
  18. there.. now you have 3 Prometheum5... lol. Tried to knock down Miriya but I suffered some damages!
  19. Well we all know that. I don't know what keeps someone like Tommy from moving on and doing his own projects versus staying on and handling a property mired in legal issues and stuck in mediocrity. If the movie gets made (big IF) he's not going to be one of the heavy players in the production. But I don't know him well enough to ask or do I care enough to find out. All I know is everyone is cordial in the same room as they should be and all the discussions are made where they are suppose to be. If we started talking about it there, it would be a lot like this thread, a never ending frustrating and mostly boring discussion. I think MEMO is the only one interested in that there, no one else gave a crap. All I know is I have new Macross shows and new Macross stuff... sorry to everyone else having so much trouble. All hail Big West!!! LOL.
  20. Quit typing and keep working... COMICON!!!!
  21. Tommy's a gracious guest. If he wants to spill some beans about anything Robotech related that's up to him, he knows how some fans on this boards feel about him, so he knows whatever he says is going to be discussed. I've never really held back about my thoughts about HG and it's never anything personal. But he came as a guest and he was treated as one by everyone there. He almost lost my iphone though, haha. When he was talking during the photoshop panel, I was really impressed with the drawing he had up.
  22. some weird feature left on by accident or for no reason.
  23. Miriya came, saw and kicked ass... by winning some good contests and prizes.
  24. Tommy left as soon as his Photoshop tutorial if there was a Q&A after that then it happened in someone's car. Not during the Con... There was a really interesting question asked (not by me and not concerning the RLAM) but I think everyone missed it. But the official announcement will be at SDCC. There was no talk about Robotech or RLAM during the panel, unless it concerned the artowrk being photoshopped.
  25. That's an excellent starting point... sorry I can't commit to anything right now but I'm hoping that this project is successful otherwise.
