If only there was a site that somehow showed the nexus of all things Macross... lol. That people would actually visit. I'm all for seperate threads! Easier to search and look thru.

Actually shortly after the ThunderHammer, we started talking about doing the DYRL Macross at 1/2000 scale. Which would be 6 inches bigger than the Yamato. Fully transformable and superdetailed. And casted in color for people that didnt want to paint it. We were looking at between $500 and $800 (depending on how complicated the transformation was). We thought that it was doable. Then I guess someone in HK found out about the roject and told us to forget about it because Yamato was coming out with a toy. It was safer to come out with a kit back then because there weren't so much toys to compete with. But now the licenses are being given out like crazy, I'm not sure if its even worth a try. And to think... for one of these you coulda had both versions... lol.

It was funny because my sister was watching it with me... She was like "Hey I remember this show!" and all of a sudden it became MST3K. Everytime a minor character resolved an issue one of us would say... "Somebody is going to die!" "Hey, I'm over the fact that you had to sleep with that guy to get valuable info, lets get married" "Somebody is going to die!" "Son I'm proud of you" "Somebody is going to die!"

Damn forgot about it... I wanted to see if they changed it from SDCC... Well of course they did... they even said back then that it wasn't a finished product.

I didn't say it was the best thing since sliced bread. I just thought it was gonna be as bad as the original BSG or Buck Rogers. It just wasn't campy... they played it straight and that made it bearable to sit thru.

I caught this this weekend. It held up a lot better than I thought it would. Enjoyed the heck out of it.

You know when it got pathetic? WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED THE PRICE!!! There's an excellent point right there... so with all the technical know how and toy making experience that Yamato has there was NO WAY they can figure out how to make a 24" toy that doesn't cost $2300.00??? Are you kidding me?

The blowsuperiors engine is more similar to the Bartley model... another reason I wished they had released it first. I think the bartley would have been an easier mod to turn it into a BS...
