nice!

Yeah, canon is what ever they say it is. But toys are a visual medium for me... I can't have these midget zentradi's with my valks... it defeats the purpose of having giants... can't imagine if they would have ben fighting the VF-0s instead.

I was gonna say... No Rufus, No B&T!

Yamatos have had ratcheting joints for a long time. Check the legs of the 1/48. I'm not a big fan of too much ratcheting because it somewhat restricts posing to certain degrees. But it's needed in the legs to keep those poses. I find that the more the Transformers toys get more pricey, the closer they come to Yamato quality and issues. Not equal but close. The Masterpiece Starscream has it's own QC issues like cracking plastic but can't match fine details like landing gears and cockpits. And while MP Prime is pretty awesome with it's die-cast content, it would require an interior and probably closer to lineart transformation, which would mean that it wouldnt have the double grill cheat that it has. I love MP Prime though. I still think it's the best toy out there and only a 1/32 valkyrie can beat it, and I'm not a TF Fan... but I think Takara pulled all the stops making it.

Don't buy kits from MIM. The original was the Club M version I believe http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/club_m/vf4g.htm http://www.starshipmodeler.com/mecha/bb_vf4.htm I know there was a 1/100 scale VF-5000

Basically this is what they say it is But this is what we see in the cartoon with Alto as a stand in for the zentradi.

But that's where the fun begin! lol. I totally agree... there's a lot of instances where we see VF-1s toe to toe with an average Zentran and they were about the same height. VF-1s hand to hand fight with Zentrans and Britai in the loading dock Hikaru comes face to face with one after he crashes into a ship (i believe it was just before a Deadalus attack on the same ship,IIRC) During Exedol's visit on the SDF-1, they were greeted by VF-1's After tricking some rogue Zetradi's that they were being attacked, a friendly Zetradi's cigarette was lit by a VF-1s gunpod. Max actually finds a Zentradi soldier who's uniform he can steal and disguise his valkyrie When we first see the giant Zentradi Regult pilot grab onto the VF-1D's leg... as a kid I was blown away by the explanation of why a transforming plane was a necessity. After seeing Transformers size shifting between disguise mode and robot mode and the Robeasts (lol) in Voltron growing in size conveniently to Voltron's height for no reason, I was thoroughly shocked by a show that treated giant robots intelligently. But to see them kinda backstep the scale issue to what they are today (or whenever they did it) in the specs is kinda disappointing. Another thing, if Clan clan can fit into a Queadluun-Rea that's the same size as the Queadluun-Rau, then why is Millia's size limited to her small frame?

great stuff MacrossMan.
-
Millia, or any Meltrans aren't the size of a VF-1 though. They go up to about midway. And a Zentran is about below 3/4ths up. The CMs Millia for the Qrau is just below scale. I think they did that so it can be displayed with the rest of the CMs collection and to put into the tight spaces of the toy. But the toy itself is the right scale. As always, the animation takes a lot of liberty and always goes for aesthetics over lineart stats.

Hell yes... be very afraid.
-
Maybe Toynami should make it... I mean 1/55 isn't that far off from 1/60.... ahem!
-
LOL! Because by "world" we mean the USA! You know how Americacentric we are... And by "America" I still mean the USA!
-
It's about as different as the 1/60 YF-19 to the new VF-19. Plus they really have to work on that pose where the Qrau clasps both hands together to shoot... that's the iconic pose! I still love my Qraus though. From the proto shots I thought they were making it to be that huge. I was thinking that's more like 1/48... so somewhere in the Yamato offices there's a 1/48 resin Qrau... lol. $500!!!

LOL... I guess there's a limit for some people when really we're all buying the same toy over and over and over...

The Amazing Spider-Man, on Blu-Ray/DVD Nov. 9, 2012
EXO replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Except his only experience wasn't just music videos. I'm more worried about the choice of actor for Spidey... every time they go for the younger actors, it seems like the superhero movie fails. The ones that do best are the ones that have more experienced actors for some reason, i.e. Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk.... not everytime but more so than the "let's use younger actors to keep the franchise fresh" angle. They get the younger actor and the movie bombs and they only make one... (ahem... Superman Returns) The first Spider-Man movie WAS about Gwen Stacy, but they changed her name to MaryJane. Just more inane movie "upgrade" decisions. -
I love the robot names... Orbot, Vexar and Axoid... lol... no i don't...

How'd you get the polar bear to sit still? -
It's all Photoshop after the hand drawn sketch. I'll post a bigger resolution after the con... I don't know if you can notice but I'm still messing with the colors and background. Each pic I've posted is different from the one prior.
-
I don't think it'll fit in a VF-1S! lol... jk.
-
Do it! Daisuke! no text looks good next to the original.
-
Here's the original sketch... changed up a couple of stuff. I was gonna do a little step by step but it was taking up too much time.
