Again, I can admit that Voltron was a smidge more popular than Robotech. I just laugh at how you guys make Voltron seem like it's a 500 pound gorilla and Robotech is a spec in it's shadow... when really they're both just some 80's cartoon that had a chance to be made into live action and a dying fanbase. both

Yeah, the Experten "kits" are clearly for toy enthusiasts. Articulation over fine detail, casted in color and no gluing required. That said, the engineering and sculpts are great. It's a good, but expensive way to get a hold of some of the obscure valks as toys that may never see light, like the VF-4.

It all depends on a lot of things... did they do well in the marketplace? if they didn't do well then how are the other Macross items doing? if any, which macross toys are doing well? The ones that are priced less or the big ticket items with the super detailed sculpt? If any of the Macross toys do well enough then they'll continue the line and depending on what the customers want then it'll ensure more Macross toys from Bandai. And if Macross is still lucrative then Bandai will rerelease the VF-25s, but unless there was great defect on the toys they released a VF-25 will have minimum changes on the molds. They did do a couple of changes on the 1/55 molds everytime it was released but they were very minute. A complete redesign is probably never going to happen, but I'm not going to buy any unless it was. I just never liked the way the 1/60 VF-25s looked in Battroid.

Maybe you should look up the definition of popularity... it means both in numbers and well thought of PLUS he also wrote this part but I guess this guy will take any help he can get... And Seto just because I dont use your words verbatim, doesn't mean your implications aren't clear. You did use GI Joe and Transformers in the same sentence as Voltron, implying that Robotech are miles away from popularity from shows like those two, and that Voltron should be considered in the same great heights... I find it funny that even in your argument, saying that Robotech has no place in the popularity scale that you put Voltron next to Transformers and G.I. Joe... that's the kind of thing that just skews your argument. I'm not even trying to argue that Robotech is MORE popular than Voltron, maybe you have enough time in your hands to research such mundane statistics, in which case I would totally lose in this argument... but I have to say that to assume that NO ONE would remember Robotech compared to Voltron is as ridiculous as saying Voltron, TF and GI Joe are in equal standing against robotech... now THAT is fallacy.

So you're assuming that because all of those people that reference Voltron has never heard of Robotech? And the people that actually got those jokes have no idea what Robotech is? WHAT? Way to overstate an opinion as an assumption or even a fact. I would say that the same people that watched Voltron are the same ones that watched Robotech and if they remember one, they remember the other. If anything Voltron probably has less of a fan base because they never had Macross sequels and and toy lines to keep some of the fans moderately interested. Sure Voltron had that CG series for a little while but to present that there's a wide popularity gap between the two properties is kinda preposterous.

LOL... the molds are cheaper in the long run because even if you make multiple runs it still wouldn't equal to the cost of making one set of steel molds that would require them to sell each toy at a price no one can ever afford.

They are taking orders monthly. The first batch sold out before the 21st. They are taking orders in limited numbers to maximize each mold. Remember, these aren't steel molds that can run thousands of pieces. Another reason for the price.

Lol. I was just messing with you. I meant that bandai and Yamato trading licenses is a fanboy dream. The simpler solution is already at hand because Bandai has already been hiring the same designers that Yamato uses instead of the gundam people they used for the VF-25, which are FREX and T-Rex. There's bigger differences between the Yamato monster and the Tamashii Monster. You can see that the stabilizer is there when it isn't on the Yamato. Of course similarities is there because it's practically from the same lineart. Though I do admit that the 1/100 looks like a smaller Yamato VF-1.

Would have loved to see a movie with transformers like that. But the insipidity of Bay's Transformers goes beyond design... story, characters and the horrible jokes were inane.
