Nice. Using fulcy's mechaskunk stuff. I thought I recognized the label.

I guess I'm an impatient reader. I ended up reading Dragonlance instead...

There's the Destroid Conversion Kits. But you can only display one at a time. There's also the Bandai kits. I might check the out myself.

Did anyone with a Matchbox Battle Pod buy the 1/60 regult? Or is there a picture of the 2 together that I've missed?

I see what you're saying and in a way I agree. But I do think that the 25 was more of a miscalculation on Bandai's part in which they quickly tried to recover. I don't know if you've seen the VB-6 Koenig but it's not a straight copy of Yamato's version (which was almost a straight copy of a resin kit). And as much as people might not be into it but I thought that the 1/100 VF is very cool and well done especially at that scale. I really can't see it done any better. It's a shame that Bandai released the VF-25 to a customer base that they were not familiar with. Yamato had close calls with the same thing, like the 1/100 VF-0. But by then even after the prototypes were done, they knew enough not to produce it. I think the fans can sense that difference in why each company is in the business of making valks. There's some amount of fandom and genuine interest within the Yamato top ranks that makes them crank out incredible versions of Macross mecha, while Bandai is trying to tap into a market that they clearly ignored for the last few years and maybe too late. I doubt that bandai is only interested in the MF line, but I think they leapt into the other lines too late as it is already saturated. Some people think that making the more obscure valks will be more successful for them but I think they stuck between a rock and a hard place. Obscure valks that barely have a fan base or the already over tapped lines that are the better sellers. Actually, IMO, Bandai has a better chance with their license by going bigger. You won't sell as much VF-1s in 1/32 than you would at 1/48 but at the price... if they sell a quarter as much or even the same numbers as the 1/100, they'd make about the same.... so do it Bandai!!! 1/32 scaled VF-1s!!!

I'd rather see film makers make long adaptations of books, like an HBO series type thing. I know it'll never or rarely happen and if they did, it wouldn't follow the book but trying to squeeze all that story into 2 hours is just kind of a disservice to anything worth reading. Short stories or single arc comic books are probably more of an ideal source for films. Unless it's something like LOTR and they make 12 hours out of each book. But I still feel like the LOTR wasn't a good source, it moved way too slow for me (or maybe it was Peter Jackson's version that made it seem like it took forever.) The BBC seem to be more capable of such things, but in the U.S (Hollywood) all the producers want the 2 hour version of every story or the trilogy of it.

Wow, Acroray, did you do that? Love it!

Valhary's sentiment is probably more of the norm though... only a few Macross collectors would go for this type of run. But how crazy is it really when a lot of the toys are getting close to this price point anyway? $500 is about the cost of 2 of most of the items people are buying in these forums.
-
Those books don't get made because people in Hollywood don't read unless the book is currently making a ton of money and even then they don't read it themselves. They have people that do that, and those people don't get to choose what to read either... it's sent to them by another group of people... and then we pay $13 for movies that we already saw...

Variable Fighter Master File VF-1 Valkyrie Space Wing

what is that again? -
must kill myself... buyers regret... hells no! I want it! must have it!!! I think it's the only 1/60 regult we'll ever see. And it's about as silly as people buying 1/55s for over 2k... which a few years ago was the norm.

Not when it's the armored messiah. I do think that Yamato pushed the envelope of macross toy design, demanding for more lineart accuracy and playability at the same time. It doesn't always work out but as far as toys are concerned, I think Bandai has to play keep up with them. But looking at their last efforts with the hi metal, the VF27 and especially the VB-6 Monster. I think they've given Yamato a run for their money. If they, for some reason, managed to run Yamato put of the macros business, I think their interest in the franchise would wane and it'll be back to the dark ages for us fans.

Bandai is already hiring yamato's toy designers. It's the popularity of Macross in japan's market that'll decide what they'll get to.

Decapitated? Lol. They're on top of the sdf-1.

The Ghostbusters become a huge frnachise like Home Depot and an evil spirit shows up and defeats all the newer ghostbusters. This brings back the OG troop and Ray takes out an iphone and apps the ghost to another dimension. The End.

I have the prebuilt one and it's great. but if you got the kit, you can sand down the pins before assembly. Either way you can remove the pins before transforming completely to sand down the pins.

LOL. YOu know what they say about girls with big feet... no seriously... tell me... The green ones do come with a rifle.

The kit is really impressive. The quality of the resin is beyond anything that I have seen. The pieces that make up the pod are thin but strong but it doesn't feel like toy plastic. It feels more like a car part. The engineering is also impressive, it's not a snap kit but more of a complex interlocking system, complex in design but easy to understand how the parts fit together. Some parts does need gluing though. But for anyone to try to compare it to a regular resin kit would be wrong. It's kinda scary, as much as I would like Yamato quit making expensive kits like this, I'd be fascinated to see more of what they can do with this material and design style. Maybe a Glaug or a Cheyenne Destroid.

Met up with Jasonc to check out the pod and see if the Zentradi soldier fits...

watch it with the personal insults.

can't wait to get the real regult toy to take pics.
