friendly exchange... like I said. I agree with the others that aesthetics is better. I'm just commenting on official measurements.

I barely saw this post... lol. Wow... I can't wait to put this together. 41cm is huge. The only toy I have that's bigger would be the Hot Toys Aliens Power Loader and that thing is a monster. I do agree with you and Reïvaj that ideally the Regult should be way bigger than the valks. In my ideal Macross universe, which is derived from the cartoon is that the soldiers are the same height as the VF-1s, which would probably make a 1/60 toy about 50-55cm tall... lol.

Yup. I'm basing everything on the 1512m data that's given in books and other sources, so I wouldn't call it a mistake. And my original post states that. I agree that scale in Macross is pretty much a give and take. Even one of the pictures you used on your post is one that I took. But I specifically said on the post you replied to was "using scale calculators" and then I gave the data plus a reliable source to make my point. But it makes me wonder that if they scaled it down to 45cm, what was the original height of the toy they ended up with. I don't really understand where you're getting that 27m is correct. You don't scale up from the toy. You're suppose to scale down from given data. And I just checked the Perfect memory book and it states there that a standard regult stands at 1512m, which would make it 25cm in height as a toy. And yes I understand that the Trex zentradi would never fit into a toy that size but you have to understand that T-rex got the size of their figure from the same source that the Regult data is in.

Thanks Reïvaj for the reply. I haven't put mine together yet. I'll do a dry fit in a couple of weeks. I was just going by scale calculators and actually those pics you just posted. I actually talked to some people yesterday and they told me that the after printing out the initial design at 1/60 scale, Yamato decided to reduce the size to make it more manageable. Which surprised me. At 45cm, scaled up to 1512m, that would make it close to 1/32 scale. Of course I'm not complaining. Having a regult this huge is totally awesome.

We're all gonna die! Starting with two geeks!

Awesome!!! Looking great so far. Don't forget to add the link on your thread of links pinned up top when you're done (so I can drool over it at any given time.)

If you did all your reviews wasted on Guiness it would set you apart from all the other reviews and I would eagerly wait for each one to come out.

The knees do bend! And it does come with a pilot. It's on the sprue, you just need a really steady hand to cut out that piece of plastic in the shape of a 1/3000 Global. As for the cockpit not opening, the city opens up and then the little figure has to take a car that goes up the arms and then continues up the elevator up to the bridge. All for $400 bucks! Suckas! Now you have to get it!

EXO replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree with Ebert though as far as 3D doesn't and rather distracts from the viewing experience. Every time a knife or something comes at you in the middle of a movie, you start to think about how cool that little gimmick was. It actually takes you out of the story. The best part for me is actually forgetting that it's a 3D movie and just enjoying a good yarn. Toy Story 3 is a really good example. At the end of it I forgot anything that had to do with any 3D scenes. I had a friend that said video games weren't art either. I thought she was crazy. I think besides movies and TV, it's one of the most perfect combination that allows almost all the senses to enjoy art. Sight, sound and story. Sometimes touch. Thank goodness not smell. Maybe 3D glasses are meant more for games because that's actually you controlling the character, so when things come at the screen it adds to the realism of being in the game. -
According to scale calculators, this thing is a 1/48 scale regult. But the pilot that fits inside would be about a 1/72 scale figure. Dimensions: height 15.12 meters Source: http://www.macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/reguld.htm a 1/48 regult is 31.5 cm which is about the height of this thing standing up. Maybe even bigger. So an actual 1/60 scale regult toy might be comparable to the SDF-1 downsizing to a mass produced toy. If they just make it without an opening cockpit and the smaller size, it might be possible. It's all up to Yamato though.

Texting saves time for me. It's precise and with no need for formalities. No hellos, no goodbyes, no hold ons. I can check exactly what was said so I don't have to call back if I forget or heard something incorrectly. MMS is awesome also. If I need a something and I want no mistakes, I'll just send a pic. No more "It's the one in the green bottle... no the bottle is clear, the liquid inside is green. What the hell is this? That's not green... That aqua." I actually use my smartphone as a phone the least. Then again I'm not one of those people that text constantly, in lines, in the theatre, in the car... can't stand those people. And I'm afraid of how annoying it's gonna be once personal video conferences become more prominent. I'm actually glad that AT&T restricts it to wifi only in the US.

That's a great idea. Maybe even a PE for the city back drop that can be painted outside and then inserted after.

Hey I made a Misa figure in her space suit... lol. Who ever posted that has Super Happy figs.

The fact that the pilot fits in the head makes it worth $400 alone!

You guys have to keep politics and political discussions/debate off the boards, especially when you know it's not allowed. Sneaking it in at every opportunity won't be allowed any more. It'll be an automatic suspension that can lead to banning. I've seen it more than once. This is a general warning that's specifically within the TOS so don't whine about it.

When I look at the Well Of Souls Indy I can hear the music from that scene!

They hardly ever and if they did, it would be changed somehow. I don't think they'll reissue the Appleseed figures. I don't think they did that great. If anything they should reissue the ED-209 but at this point it would probably cost $100 more to produce it. You shoulda checked my for sale thread. I was selling the Appleseed figs basically at cost. Someone picked up Deunan and I think Briareos is spoken for but for a bit more than retail.

The Wave toy has huge gaps in other places though. Ugly massive holes on the side.

Well, I admit that the finale wasn't great. But I think people are so invested in the comic book storyline that they can't see how good the show is. Maybe it sucks in following the book but the show doesn't suck at all. I think people that are invested in the comics should stop watching now because they're probably just going to get angrier. I mean, Robert Kirkman is a showrunner and he obviously doesn't want to just retread his footsteps. I'm probably going to enjoy the books because it won't be like I've already gone thru the same story.

That doesn't really make sense to me. If I saw him lying there and his disk begins to glow then I'd get it. But wash ashore? I'd be wondering what Jason Bourne is doing in the grid.

Somewhere in someone's basement are the real Spielberg, Lucas and Coppola. I'm afraid they might have already gotten J.J. Abrams also.

I guess you can't keep some people from crying about it either way. Can't please everyone. Whiners will be whiners.

Well Some of us Toy People can tear apart a toy and put it back together better than it was, so this wouldn't be a problem. I think it was Mechamaniac that made a good point. Attaching some of those parts maybe a packaging necessity so parts wont break off in shipping and leaving them in sprues makes sure you don't have missing parts because of the size of the pieces. The Minmay is part of the Half Age Girls gashaphon collection and the Orguss is part of a new Megahouse Palm action collection IIRC. half age girls and palm action... only on an anime forum can that be written in one sentence.
