Because he was spurned by Hollywood first. Let's face it, Frank wrote his last good comic book as soon as he wrote his first script. But that doesn't mean he's wrong about the douchebag executives that don't read. He's actually spot on... with a dash of bitter. I tend to stop reading magazines as soon as I get their vibe and they become repetitive to me. All those hype mags that came out of the 90's... Wizard, Cinescape (dead), Maxim and Stuff... Big 'Uns... lol, is that a real mag? I have to say though... I was so glad when they stopped using Bart Sears as the only cover artist in the beginning... Everything was so purple and his knowledge of anatomy sucked.

lol. The idea of a superhero/vigilante in L.A. always strikes me as silly. I mean, is she going to fly from Compton to the Valley or is she going to base her operations downtown by the Staples Center and run to Hollywood Bowl? Los Angeles is so spread out I always feel bad for people that come here to sight see. But I guess if there was a hot chick in tights fighting crime here I'd go to Hollywood and rob an Urth Cafe.

I was hoping this would be the best Minmay figure so far... lol. I'll start on this project again once I make good on projects I'm behind on.

I love the designs of the space cucumbers but I've never had the desire to own one for display. I don't think they'd be fun as toys. They won't be effective as tiny models because they'd look silly as smaller pieces in the middle of all my valks. And if they did make them big enough to do the ships justice, I wouldn't want them to overwhelm my collection as centerpieces because I'd rather have the Macross or a really nicely detailed 1/48 VF-1 to be that piece. I think the 1/60 regult is the perfect representation of the enemy forces for my display, but I wouldn't mind a 1/60 Glaug to offset it. lol. I hope they do the Phalanx. And at this point I'm a bigger fan of the VF-171 and would rather have that than the VF-17. I'm still hoping for a Bandai 1/60 Recon type 171.

Everyone is saying that they got the idea from MWCon... I wish we had confirmation. That would be a fun thing just to know. We all thought about doing the contest with a Yamato toy but it's just too expensive for anyone to volunteer their toys to be messed with by others. Plus some members here can transform a chunky monkey in seconds.

It's going to expand on the Alien universe with the xenomorphs as just one of the creatures in it. It's the right way to go unless they expanded on the colonial marines aspect. But that's Cameron's thing not Ridley's.

I hope it's really that, like the manga and less pondering of man's existence in a world where technology may be the world's only hope for Utopia... or some GITS movie or Eva BS. At least Oshii or John Woo are not involved so far. I still think the Black Magic short film is the best Shirow animated adaptation to date. Clean, simple and exciting as derived it may be.

that project fell apart a while back... that was a heartbreak. But yeah the suit design looks like OG manga. The character design... hopefully it's just the angle but it looks like bad deviant art material. BUT sticking close to the manga is awesome news so I'm looking forward to hearing more.
