kinda disappointed with the finale. It wasn't a bad episode but it wasn't a good season ender. It felt like you're still waiting for things to happen and aside for one or two events... most build ups this season have been pretty anti climactic.

Thanks for posting that D. I agree with Keith that the contrast in handling the two properties are polarizing. They even addressed A1's concern about the planet's population. This is the kind of care that should go into adapting an old property. Will it work? Not sure. But at least I know they're trying. I have a good feeling though. When does it start??? Can't wait!

There's a lot of anime magic that goes into making the lion mode look good. Mostly bigger legs and the neck. Both of which disappear anyway in robot mode. I was kinda hoping for a SOC one. What they did with Voltes V and Daimos were pretty amazing.

Mattel stated a while back that they plan on doing a Classics line. A deluxe toy with die cast parts that will be around $30 each lion and when formed together the robot will stand to about 2 feet tall. Available on Mattycollector.com. Man I sound like a commercial.

Fan works is fine. There's no current admin to open up new sections and I'm going to doubt they'll do it just for fanfics. It is "fan works" anyway.

The fuke proto is safe. Someone friendly actually managed to save it. I'm guessing that the Shinobu head and camera went with the guy that put up that auction that Save posted. It's clear that that was one of the first signs of Beagle's liquidation. We tried bidding on that auction but it went for way more than we were willing to pay. The camera and head is not a big deal though, just that the fuke prototype made it out all in one piece.

I'd say go ahead and start threads that link to your fanfics and discuss it as much as you want. As far as rules how about we just stick to: A. Links only if it is all prose and text. You can post it if it has plenty of art (and I mean plenty, not a small doodle or a light sketch) like a comic book, or if it's a video like that Aria one. B. Macross only. Not Robotech, not Mospeada, not Orguss, Megazone nor Aquarion. C. No whining or bumping of thread if no one responds to it. It's most likely not enjoyable and it's time to face it. If it's bad and people are still responding to it, then it's obviously being read so update it as much as you want. If it doesn't adhere to those rules, then I'm gonna lock it. I'm not sure if any other mods still come to this section but I think that's how I'm gonna go about it personally. Sorry to sound heavy handed but I think spelling out rules never sound in the least bit friendly.

Saw it. Not nearly as bad as everyone says it is. But it's not good. I liked the suit design, it's as close as you can get to the comic book version without going the spandex route and aping the Spider-Man textured ski suit. But the execution of it was bad. The FX were very green screenish and harsh. I'm glad it wasn't 3D. I'm not sure everyone else would notice that Ryan Reynolds would be wrong for the part if they didn't read the comic books. So I can't say he was bad, but Hal Jordan he wasn't. Blake Lively... not good as the tough, spunky female pilot that she was suppose to be. She looked like a cover girl posing as a jet pilot in heels. She doesn't have the range that Amy Adams has that she can go from Fairy Tale princess in one movie to Amelia Earheart in the next, and certainly not smart enough to avoid playing both roles in the same movie. I gotta say though, Mark Strong is an amazing actor. He comes out in a bunch of ridiculous sounding roles and pulls them off every time. It's almost sad to see him wasted as a great Sinestro knowing that he won't get to play it in the sequel. I haven't seen a likable bad guy like him since Alan Rickman. Oa was hideous. You'd think that a planet inhabited with people with strong will and great imagination would live in a better looking place. It looks like they were all sent to green hell. And as many as there were green lanterns why did they send a handful to go after the "big threat"? It doesn't make sense like much of the plot. They were just standing around the planet anyway. Finally, I have to say that I'm not a huge Martin Campbell fan. I know everyone thinks that Casino Royale is the crap but I thought the plot was ridiculous, and while Daniel Craig makes a great Bond his decision making is inane and the casino sequence was way too long and boring. And this is coming from someone that loves to play poker. Edge of Darkness was the worst revenge movie ever. Mel Gibson goes around angry the whole movie and all he ever does is slap around an old man in the face. I mean this is Porter from payback. And this movie plays like the highlight reel of every Superhero movie except none of it make sense. You have arbitrary characters that show up for obligatory superhero movie scenes and is never seen again. To me, Martin Campbell makes bad movies and this is just another proof of that fact.
