Great! They find water on Mars. How about turning what ever tech try used towards California?
Seriously though, I think the significance here is less about colonizing and more about finding some sort of microscopic life. The last thing we need to do is nuke the place but of course it's the first thing we think of.

There's actually someone in the Fan Art section making valks in 1/200 that can be easily scaled to 1/285. I don't think he's done Frontier valks just yet. You might want to ask if he has any plans for it. Look up nismogtrr32. He's got some real nice models at Shapeways.

Puuuuurty cooooool!

Yeah... saw that. I'm starting to like that scale too! Darn you!

Well, some of the things people are asking for are starting to come into fruition and they're not as cheap as they thought it was going to be... so it seems that either Arcadia's Mr. K was genuine with his article or now people will say there's an even bigger conspiracy.

Dude, Tomytec just announced 1/144 valks... kiss your wallet goodbye... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=43003

As far as I'm aware, the two on the outside are essentially the same thing. I'm not sure if the applicator brush is any different between the two, but they're both the sort of glue you use to fuse plastic after you've assembled it. It has very little, to no extra stuff that stays behind after it dries and it dries very quickly. I'm not familiar with the one in the middle. Is that the citrus scented one? If it's just plain old liquid cement, that'll be one that has a bit more "stuff" in it (usually some form of acrylic suspension) that adds a bit of bulk to the bond.
That's pretty much it on the middle. A lot thicker but the same as the one on the right.
Thanks to mechtech for introducing me to this since I hate the smell of the ones up top. Plus it's non toxic, no cancer causing fumes... not as strong though but it works fine with styrene. If I need anything more I just use glue or plastic putty.

Is this the 2012 Wonderfest Summer one? I love how it looks. Now there needs to be a 1/60 scale version.
After the rabbit... I'm trying to complete the "Sunset Beach" Diorama!
That includes the soldier... millhouse. So it can be scaled down to 1/100.

Whoah... haven't looked at the map in a while...

Nope. You sir are an artist. If these are yours then I take it your initials in the Facebook group are MN? Mine are FG. Anyways fantastic work all around.
Just go to my signature and you'll see the rest of my work. And thanks!

At first I thought it was the Experten Kit, but it's not ball jointed and casted in color. That also had a pilot that maybe came separately with it... can't remember.

Here's a link to the blog that explains the origins of rrt.

One backer can't wait for PB to start work on the next era so he's 3D printing his own.
Someone printed an alpha and beta in 1/285. It looks good.
Thanks! I didn't print them but they're my sculpts!

can't wait!

Too bad about the 1/60 scale. Maybe it will be revisited at a later time and garner more interest.
We'll keep the list open since the 3D model is already built. We just need the numbers to make thd minimum to make the masters. I'll see if anyone at MWCon will want to sign up for it. See you there Murphy, right?

This is sad news... hopefully this is more of a temporary hiatus.
-
What? That's awful news! We need everyone we can use. Plus I'll miss the build ups.

Ah Bridge Bunnies and a green screen... the things running thru my head... lol.

Interested in 1/72 unpainted.
I'm glad someone is finally taking on this project. I do have a bit of concern for the dimensions. I assumed with room for what looks like up to 8 passengers and some small cargo stowage that it would be considerably larger than a Valkyrie. I guess the boxy shape gives more usable interior space?
Never really sure how I feel about this design. Love it because it is Macross and has a utilitarian look to it. Obviously made for a specific purpose, and looks more realistically designed for space operations. However, it is not the most charismatic design.
Hi Jardann...
You're right. I think I placed the 1/72 Rabbit next to the 1/60 scaled valkyrie. The Rabbit and the Valkyrie are actually the same in length according to Macross Mecha Manual but after adjusting for all the seat placements and figure height the rabbit is actually bigger by an inch in 1/72 scale. So this will actually a bigger model kit than shown, but staying at the already modeled 8.5 inches (21.5cm).

Nice! The one thing I want to change in future kits is have the figures in clear resin so you won't see the stand and the visors will look more realistic even at that scale.
