  1. Personal interest is one thing. But these guys are not the right example you are looking for. If there's one thing they know about, it's putting out a high quality product thinking people will want it only to watch it miserably fail due to lack of interest. That's why Wonderfest might be their outlet for dream projects. You can only produce 10 and if that doesn't sell out you can just produce something else on the next one.
  2. From what I've heard from people that put out stuff at Wonderfest, is that Big West owns all the rights to Southern Cross now. I don't know if Tatsanuko decided not to contest it or for whatever reasons but if you wanted SC licenses then you have to go to BW. And they said it's been a while since anyone has tried but the last times, BW has turned down every one that has attempted to get a one day license for Wonderfest. Yes it's hearsay. And no, I can't provide sources. But that's pretty much how my "unofficial" discussion went. This person has an interest in getting a license for it so I guess I'll find out what happens when they actually put in a request. One thing they did add was that those mugs on RT.com stores are no longer there. Maybe Tatsanuko only has rights to media.
  3. I happen to like SC, some of it anyway. Especially the armors. But I also like Mospeada. Now, let me count how many HG related toys I have. Oh yeah, the Beagles... engineered by the people that make Yamato toys... lol. Even if HG decides to make Toynami toys of SC items, I doubt I would care, and how many more fans feel like I do? I'd say that brings down any significant number of people that would be interested close to nil. Edit... dammit chrisK! haha!
  4. Have you tried going to HG and Toynami and begging on your knees?
  5. I'm gonna have to pay him in shirts... lol.
  6. If the Alien franchise could be killed, they would have with Alien 3... or 4... or any of the AvP . The only way to kill it would be to nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
  7. It's too bad I don't have any more alphas and betas to display with those figures or upcoming invids. Sold them all. How about some 1:10 invids?
  8. Did they have Dana in SC? I know they supposedly had Louie.

    Cleaning Yamato Valks

funny how a lot of the stuff in the make up dept. is useful for hobby. aside from what's mentioned, the nail files are cheap and make awesome for detail sanding and the rubber tipped cuticle thingies are great for sculpting. Let's face it, if those valks don't look good, we don't look good.
  10. Thanks. Looking at it on my phone.
  11. It's weird seeing an Ash as a 12" doll. Because it makes him look tall. But I guess that would make him quarter scale? Great quality and spot on sculpt though. Same on the full metal alchemist stuff.
  12. if you don't care then why post in this thread? This is a discussion forum with a specific topic. You're like a vegetarian in a BBQ restaurant asking why there's meat on every plate.
  13. Therein lies the rub. If they were willing to spend the money in the first place they WOULD HAVE hired a more competent crew. I just wonder how these people look when they scramble to look like they're doing something when the higher ups come around.
  14. i guess it didn't sell enough to make variations but overall it's a good toy. This is built off the Saint seiya bucks right?
  15. That's the problem with their work. They're just distorting existing designs instead of just bulding from scratch. I don't see the importance of visual continuity when the original 85 eps. never had it to begin with. The animation is decent when seen with that much blur, short instances and in between 2 shoulders. I'll make sure to wear fogged glasses and sit behind 2 rather friendly guys if I ever decide on watching this series. But how will the scenes look once they are extended to contain dialogue, story and require action to that we're accustomed to?
  16. Does that mean Lance has a robot penus face because he's such a dickhead?
  17. reminded me of the Bgc and I didn't feel like starting a new thread.
  18. Did anyone see this? <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EPl_kpwyAyA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> NOT BGC.
  19. I think he's the one that came up with the concept and took it to Big West or BW asked him to come up with the concept. Someone else can become the show runner but the person responsible for the concept is usually considered "the creator". In the case of Alien , it's always considered that the man responsible is Ridley Scott. And largely he is the one that brought us the film as we know it. But it was Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett that came up with the concept and David Giler with Walter Hill ran the show after they optioned the script. Things changed as the development progressed but O'Bannon and Shusett are still considered the creators. but back to Macross, Even though Kawamori initiated the concept and Ishiguro shepherded the project, people like Mikimoto had significant contribution to the story. His Minmay character pretty much stole the show.
  20. That's the plan, but our admin has gone AWOL... he's still paying the bills and doing software updates though... can't complain (too much)
  21. Essentially this thread is here to keep the whole site from becoming a bashfest and it's not so much of an us vs. them (because let's face it... US rules! ) Only a small percentage of people from these forums post here and most members don't really care. This thread does not represent Macrossworld members' feelings in anyway. Most of them are too busy watching new and old Macross animation, buying new innovative toys and models and listening to the endless library of music provided by original creators and their new partners. If the "trolls" do decide to check this thread and this is where they get their kicks then they are free to do so, but if that's true then it just speaks volumes about their sick way of finding happiness. It seems to me that the majority of the people that post here were true passionate fans that they chose to drive away. Why they would actively kick out people with strong opinions and love for their franchise is evidence that they can't handle meeting the general fans' expectations. Hopefully for them, Tobey McGuire will save the day.
  22. Awesome interview. This is the kind of things that I see here that I always feel why we should have a main page. Instead it gets buried as just another thread. Gonna have to ask Shawn what the deal is.
  23. It might have been Batman Year 2 by Mike Barr. It's the story where Batman decides he would never use a gun again.
