If it was 2001 and I saw that trailer, I'd be pretty excited. Ten years later, it's just a rehash. I got a feeling that the direction of the story might be better but I don't need to know more about Spidey's background. I came to the US 1980. But having seen anime shows in the Philippines. All the anime shows here were all revised in some form. So Robotech's "bastardization" didn't bother me that much.

I'm not saying you should back down at every insult but at the point where you're just keeping tabs at how bad the insults are then maybe just STFU is a better alternative than to come running to the mods. Who ever said that obviously waited forever.

I don't consider being a robotech fan back in the day as unfortunate. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Coming from the Philippines I knew it was watered down. They altered every anime (Voltron, BotP, Tranzor/Mazinger Z) so I was aware of it even while watching it back then. But I DO think that insisting on being an RT fan today makes no sense whatsoever.

Well clearly that statement did exactly what it was suppose to, which is to sidestep the issues with this guy. What good does being able to take worse insults do? And the bigger issue is why insist that the people, doing a miserable job at trying to reinvigorate a franchise, use something that so little people are interested in? It's a lose/lose for Southern Cross fans. Which is and always be the case for anyone that has any hopes of new SC anything. On the subject of being a Robotech fan. Shaorin put in the best way. I'm a fan with no modern interest. I can't undo running home everyday from school to watch Robotech and loving it. But almost immediately I started gravitating to the source material. I think it was seeing even the badly dubbed Clash Of the Bionoids that actually made me want to seek out more Macross. I wached it so many times that the songs DYRL and Angel's Paints video at the end just stuck to everyone's head in my house. Even my mom used to whistle it when she was in the kitchen (that and Social D's Prison Bound :lol) ) And when they released those VHSs with half Robotech and half japanese versions, I tried to collect them. Of course that was the first of HGs of many failures only to be punctuated by the MPC toys, which to me was the death knell of my RT fandom.

Obviously Macross toys DO make money. But the type of toys that are profitable is beyond Toynami's capability and budget. As far as New Generation toys, the Beagle and the Megahouse failed and they never finished either line. If that property can't make it, what chances does Southern Cross Toys or Merchandise have? I find it funny though that there's only one member that's making a stand yet everyone chooses to reply to him as if it mattered. If you were getting that much attention, wouldn't you keep up the fight?

I can't believe they even brought back any parts of the Sentinels. That whole thing was a bad idea back then. They reek of 60s-70s sci-fi. And then the design for Janice was worse than the one in the Sentinels Art book. After you've seen Catty from Gall Force and the M-66 androids back in the 80's you'd think that they'd try to top those things. But by now they're up against Motoko in the GiTS movies and series and even that Bjork video, it's clear how far they've been left behind.

I think you need to interview some hot cosplayers that's bilingual to do the interview. If you need volunteers for interviewing, I'll be happy to be flown in for the job.

Aren't they ONLY using 1/3 of their franchise anyway? Because they can't use Macross designs... And even then, they haven't been using the last 1/3 all that effectively. The whole point everyone is trying to make is to move on, use new designs but have an actual, competent writer behind the story... good mechs by actual mech designers... with good character designs by actual character designers. Even if they were new unheard of artists to save on budget, you still have to go thru portfolios and samples. But to have one guy take on everything, without anyone looking over him for quality is a recipe for disaster in a complex and supposedly epic story that this should be.
