Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
EXO replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It looks very cool. I can see the future... and it involves unaffordable Hot Toys figures. But I'll start saving up for the Charlize Theron in spacesuit now. I'm guessing she's the robot. -
Is it really getting killed? I haven't been keeping up. I went to the Voltron forums once and saw that they kinda liked it so I stopped reading. Still time for a reboot to save the toy line! It's seriously bad. Story. Animation. Dialogue. Blah!

The USS AL was in San Pedro (Los Angeles Port) July 28 weekend. Got there pretty early for a 2 hour wait. When the shuttle got back to the place where we got picked up there must hve been a line that had a wait that was 4-6 hours long. The freeway exit was backed up too. Was really lucky to get aboard it.

I haven't bought the DYRL valks except for the Roy custom but if they came out with blank gray 1/60 v.2 I would get those to customize instead. I mean I already have the stock toy DYRL schemes in 1/48. I'd like to change it up.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - Opens August 5.

Loved it. Second movie I liked after a summer of disappointments. Was a surprise too. Thought it was gonna suck. -
LOL. I always watch that show. It's like Cliff notes to physics. I'm into the Wonders of the Universe, which was formerly Wonders Of The Solar System. I love that show. The host is always at exotic locations shot with amazing cinematography and the outer space CG is always awesome. It's less about theories and more about discoveries. But I guess everything is really a theory 'til you land on that planet. Good shows. Cosmos was good for what it was, I was more into 3.2.1 Contact... back then. I'll be interested in what they present in the new one, but it's FOX programming... WotU and TtWH is on the Science Channel which is owned by The Discovery Network. But they did run Firefly... stupid FOX!

I agree that last one was kinda lackluster compared to the first hour. Writing was still solid though, especially because the morality plot point doesn't hit you over the head with "lessons to be learned." It seemed like it was really for the Lion-O's benefit and not the kiddies watching. But after a rich environment in the premiere episodes I guess they had to seriously cut back on the budget to recover and just draw a vast empty landscape. Jaga bit and the Wileykits were pretty cool.

Harvey Keitel saying "You even dream of sinking my battleship, you better wake up and apologize!" would be the awesomest...

Seems like an entire caste system. It's interesting that the other mammals live under the cats rules also. It seems to that any other animated show writers would just make it the "cat kingdom" and everyone else would be outside. I like how they layer on complexity with each aspect of the show, where you actually have to think about it. Imagine that! I guess at this point it's gonna be more of everyone against the cats. Hey doesn't that make it derivative of the 70's film The Warriors? Rip off!!! Time for a reboot!

Nice. I never knew that was there.

I think the design is outdated as far as battroid, but it can be made to look good. Kinda like the difference between a 1/55 to the 1/48s and 1/60s. I see potential..

I like the light weathering but I think adding a light panel lining will do the trick also! Nice first custom!

I loved this movie. Great cast. Great fun. Liked it more than any superhero movie this summer.

nice, but not Macross... moved topic

There's a piece on Entertainment Weekly (maybe 2 weeks ago) where the writers talk about having big battles, bigger dire wolves and more things that will require more CG. I might be part of the Comic Con panel interview. It said something about how the wolves are still growing.

I saw that and thought the same thing. I don't think Tygra was annoying, but the fact that he kept bringing up the whole I should be king thing was. The writers need to back off that a little. But when it comes down to it, he's a pretty loyal cat. Jaga and the clerics were awesome! (Sounds like an 80's british rock group.)

Am I the only one that didn't like it? And by not like it I mean I freakin' loved it! So awesome that they started off with Grune the Destroyer. And then from there it was an iconic moment every five minutes. I can't believe that was one hour, I thought there was going to be another episode after. Can't wait for next Friday.
