Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
EXO replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The whole xenomorph thing is played out. You know what it's about and you know what it does and how people react. But the Alien universe is pretty interesting. I think the logical prequel would be about the space jockeys and the logical sequels after Aliens should have been about the Colonial Marines... I think this movie will blow you away! hopefully. -
whoah... that's a huge scan. Thanks for posting!

Those are collections. That's 4 books or you can choose the video for Year One... can't get any easier than that. But you don't need it for the movie, you just need to watch the first 2. Did you get the 80's version? That one looks saawheeet!

If it was based on music alone, there wouldn't be any contest. But then throw in the subsequent animations, toys and other merchandise, I just don't see why there's an argument. But I don't give anyone that say they are Robotech fans any grief because I see most of them as just people that say they loved the cartoon when they were growing up and they can't be bothered with the details because it's just something they remember fondly. I do believe that most RT fans are Macross fans, again, they have more important things in life than to think about legal debates, toy intricacy, and japanese monikers to differentiate. It's just the few weird ones that insist on Robotech standing on its own that are vocal about their creepy obsession.

Just finished thefirst 3 episodes. I watched No.3 primarily because there were more seeders than the earlier episodes. The storylines is a lot better than earlier incarnations. Better than the 1988 OVA and the Aramaki movies. Episode 3 wasn't as good as the first 2. The first 2 had a good balance of story and action, I especially liked the air combat sequence between Deunan's Landmate and the Flying Torch. The animation style and color is still crappy. I do love the faithful designs from the manga and the Shirowish faces on the characters. If I just watched ep. 3 I would probably stop, but having seen the first 2, I'll check out the next few and maybe finish it up. The music is pretty bad too. I kinda get the whole Strangers in Paradise reference but the tone the BGM sets is pretty boring.

The storyline isn't based on any specific book, just like the last 2 movies. Bane is from the series Knighfall but I don't think they break Batman's back on this storyline, nor will Azreal show up. From the trailer it sounds like they taking the theme of the heatwave before the storm from Dark Knight Returns in the beginning. So I guess you can pick up those collections and check out Batman:Year One and the beginning of the Catwoman books with the awesome Adam Hughes Covers. Batman: Year One also just came out on video. People say it's more about the commissioner, but I think it's more about Bruce and Gordon than it is about Batman.

I'm definitely teased. -
Wow, that wins as the weirdest story I've heard on this thread. I actually started playing with the toys first. My friend bought me my first valks when he worked at the San Fernando valley Swap meet with his parents. We were in grade school. I made up stories about how some kids found these f-14s in a junk yard and their old man scientist made them into transformable robots. They even had a submarine mode... lol... no Gerwalk. I just flipped the backpack over and closed the wings. Then I saw the Macross debut with Rick Yamato before Robotech, and then Robotech... I thought... OMG, the story is even better than mine! lol. I was obsessed with Clash of the Bionods, Macross Movie and Flashback after that. I kept going to the Shrine Auditorium Comic Book convention to drool over the 1/55 Ostrich, the Gold Book and anything Macross related that wasn't Jetfire or Matchbox.

I agree that DK was way too long and the change of focus from the Joker to two-face left the movie a bit disjointed for me. I still like Batman Begins more. That said, after seeing Ledger's joker mugshots leaked, I thought the movie was going to be crap but I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. Still too long though. Two face should've had his own movie because Aaron Eckhart was just as good but got over shadowed by the whole Heath Ledger thing. I know every one is all gaga over the trailers but I'm always underwhelmed by them, but end up enjoying the movies. It's incredible how much has been released about this movie though, they were so secretive about the last ones. Hoping to see this in the IMAX screen. I was telling my friend that Leo and Juno will come out at the end and stand over Bruce Wayne's sleeping body and explain that they made the head of Wayne Industries believe that he's a superhero that dresses as a bat at night using his team from Inception.

hmmm... so no xenomorphs... interesting. -
Oh yeah... and you guys just happened to be sitting at the grassy knoll. But what really happened that day. It starts with the overweight fanboy having a seizure from the brainfreeze he got from the triple large shake near the food court... distracting the convention volunteers. Now the nearest men's room was closed at that time and two custodians were seen entering with no mops and what appeared to be multiple pie trays. The first sight of flying whip cream was seen but was not paid attention to, another fanboy was also seen eating an entire pie, possibly not able to stop devouring soon enough to complete the mission. The pie we see in video managed to get some cream on Mr. Yunes face but what we didn't see was the final fatal pieing that managed to cover most of his face. We do see that his head whips back and to the left... inconsistent to the one man job we all assume that it was... Back and to the left! Back and to the left! Back and to the left! Now that ladies and gentleman... was one magic pie! (that's what she said!)

They should come with dotted lines so they know how to slit it.

Interested so far. It's like a mix between Escape From New York, Die Hard in space. And with Guy Pierce playing the smart talking Snake Plissken role. <div id='blogvision' style='width:960px; height:745px'><object width='100%' height='100%'><param name='movie' value='http://www.allocine.fr/blogvision/19269616'></param><param name='allowFullScreen' value='true'></param><param name='allowScriptAccess' value='always'></param><embed src='http://www.allocine.fr/blogvision/19269616' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='100%' height='100%' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always'/></object><a href="http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_gen_cfilm=178187.html" target="_blank">MS One - Maximum Security</a></div>

1/60 wont be til 2nd quarter of next year, as far as we've discussed. To get all the orders in and to find time for me to put those figures together. But it looks like interest is growing fast.

lol... ok. After reading that I'll just skip both movies and wait for Acts Of Valor. Maybe that will suck too, but at least i won't know until I see it.
