Make sure you have your ID and tell the person at the Will Call window that you won the tickets promoted on Macrossworld. When I got there, my tickets weren't with the regular batch sold thru normal channels.

most likely working... it's Thursday afternoon!

nope. I think Pete is talking about the guy in the limo scene in the beginning. He was the one that told the bridge to take off.

L.A. WEEKLY has a news article concerning May'n's concert and the songstress in general. They also included a link on the article about the 2010 MW Con. http://blogs.laweekly.com/arts/2012/06/mayn_macross_frontier_accel_wo.php

Nor should you hold your breath... The issue isn't that there's something standing in the way, but that the idea of it doesn't even cross their minds because paying for subtitles wouldn't sell enough additional units to make it worth the effort.

The politician was most likely either killed or brought into the Macross in the original because the spacefold occured during the ceremonies and the island was transported into space. I totally forgot him while watching the series because he wasnt that important but now that I think about it, he'd be bursting into the bridge all time if he would have lived.

weird... isn't this in reply to the pacific rim discussion?

Lol. I went thru 20 years as that loser, I wouldn't screw with you. I swear, when I walked away from that book you can almost hear the Bill Bixby/Hulk walking away theme... rather sad.

Anyone else just want to see an Engineers vs Colonial Marines war movie now? I'd be so down for it. -
Most of the valks from both companies are engineered by the same people. I'd say the pilots come last when it comes to what will work in transformation. I mean if you think about the scale of the walls and canopies of those things they would be between 6 to 10 inches thick in 1:1 scale. That doesn't really leave a lot of room for the pilot. And to add, The way they engineered the older Yamato toys, there wasn't even enough room for the pilot legs and half their butts. The pilots are just there for detail and added realism, not scale.

I agree that Macross shouldn't go on without Kawamori... and yes that was me in the toys section that said it can go on with someone else... I was joking. But it seems like a Macross series without Kawamori will be treated like Macross 2. Most of my interest with new Macross lines are mostly for newer valks and keeping the original relevant anyway. I enjoy parts of the sequels, but not as wholly as the the primary series.

Just saw the season finale. Wow. That's how the show should be all the time (except for the obligatory last scene, yuck!) But the aerial battle and how Voltaire (dumb name) becomes part of the mutants. Awesome! At first I was thinking that they can't take the stone, but then I remembered that it was a city full of birds with wings. Holy cow! I heard about Pummyra being a traitor, but I still kinda couldn't believe it. Because that really strays from the old cartoon. And I'm all for it! One thing that bugged me is that Lion-O wipes out a bunch of ships with the sword of Omens. I always wondered if he can do it and now that I see that he can... wtf hasn't he done it before??? Good finale... too little, too late?

I don't think that would happen. Scott is a lot busier than Lucas. Besides at this point if he did want to, he can do what ever he wants. The Problem with Lucas is he holds back the original version that people want to see in the best possible quality. As long as people have the choice, they wouldn't care as much what Lucas does with any of his movies.

Actually, the Beta was rebuilt in CAD in Japan. That's why it's solid.

the Beta is super solid... the engineering is from the 80s though... no A stance, no added gimmicks or any modern feature that warrants $168. It's substandard considering what you can get for that, BUT if you have the alpha, it makes the displaying of it tons more impressive. I mean the Alpha looks like POS on its own. Especially since fighter is the only decent mode. Arms are too heavy to pose in other modes.

Are we still suppose to put spoiler tags? It's been out for 2 weeks. Maybe he said in engineer speak. It's the little open ended questions like that that didn't really sit well with me. It wasn't that there was great scientific or mysteries of life questions that we left the theatres with. It was things like.. Those are just story points. I was one of those that rented Aliens over and over because I was just too young to be taken to the theatres. And while watching that movie even though there were questions, a lot of it served the story so it paid off. There was no, "wait for the sequel" questions. They were just mystery that expanded the universe. It's just like when Obi Wan says that Luke's Father was a great fighter pilot. It expanded the story for us to feel that there's history and maybe some unfinished business for Obi Wan. I didn't ask myself, "what did he pilot?" 'Where did he pilot to and from?" Again there was purpose to every mystery: Who was the space jockey? = Obviously he was the pilot of the ship and an evidence that there's more than just earth beings in the galaxy (before we meet the xenomorphs). His place there was to warn the audience that whatever they find, it can take out huge mofos easily. What's with the hole on his chest? = part of the warning and foreshadows chestbursting scene. Who turned on the signal? = Weren't we led to assume that someone in the Weyland Yutani corp turned that on? Because Ash knew exactly what his mission was when they got to LV-426. Other than those questions there wasn't any lingering things that screwed up Alien for me. It was very self contained. In fact I've always thought it was Ridley Scott's most solid movie, even though I put BladeRunner over it. I have more questions about Bladerunner than I do about Alien, and even then Bladerunner is still a self contained story where everything introduced was paid off by the end. I'm also surprised that people still fall for that, this movie is just made to set up the sequel spinned by the studios. They always say that when they start to get worried about their movie. And most of the time they never make that sequel. they said that about Brian Singer's Superman, about Green Lantern and a dozen of other giant ultra expensive movies. the only ones that do get a sequels are the ones that make the money and guess what? The next one make as much sense as the one before. The last 2 Verbinski Pirates, Transformers, The Alien Franchise. I do agree that this movie will become a classic though. I think of the things some people say they enjoyed as kids and they consider classics and I'm kinda surprised. Things like Captain Planet, Sid and Marty Kroft stuff, Small Wonder, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I mean Prometheus is no where as bad as these things but I'm just saying, things become classics for whatever reason. I myself like Ridley Scott's Legend, who am I to judge. I was never bored with this movie, I was just very unimpressed with the story. I do want to see it again, not to better understand it. It's not like I DIDN'T understand it. I got what they were trying to tell. I just want to watch it for the technical marvel it is. but why hide the fact that she is one only to be obvious about it? I feel like the captain was just trying to get laid. Plus Vickers would screw up the alphabetical naming pattern each robot has in every flm... her name shoulda been Francene... -
Just messing with ya.

Thanks! Me too. I took down the items but I didn't delete them in case a better material comes around. Seems like new materials pop up every six months.

Probably a zero chance. If they don't do it for the 30th Anniversary the odds become less. Printing a book isn't as easy as putting out a DVD/BD. I'm surprised they added Perfect Memory, albeit in a smaller form, to the SDF BD set. But since they released DYRL this year also, what are the odds they'll do a disk set with the GOld Book in 2 years. Though, it's not really that hard to find. You'll see some in Yahoo!Japan auctions, eBay or even in the For Sale Section once and a while. Before the internet I waited 20 years to get one. I drooled over the copy I saw at the conventions sold by the same dealer for $200. So worth it.
