I agree. My feeling,much like with Star Wars or any other classic, is that the creator can do what ever he wants with his movie as long as he or the distribution company allows previous versions available. Ridley Scott has it right. He can insert Miss Piggy as Decker for all I care as long as he provides us with the theatrical version and now the Director's Cut. -

i kinda see what might be hinges. But those aren't the same wings. On the left where the arrows pointing is on the shoulder. On the right is on the leg. It'd be cool if they were on hinges but I don't see the point.

That's a prototype to be shown off at wonderfest at the end of the month. Expect the official price to be displayed with it, then we'll see how happy people will be.

if they would have just let it run, it would have been done by now and they would have been selling tons of DVD sets and the susequent Bluray re-release.

Actually that's the definition of chance in any logic. But Yamato has surprised us in the past. I remember the heat people gave others that thought the 1/60 VF-1 should be revisited or even the a whole new 19 sculpt. The Macross in 2 scales and as mentioned the Mac 7 license. The truth is you just can't say that one thing will be a 100% impossibility. A lot of people jump on other's throats about bringing up such a possibility like they are nuts or some crazy fan boy, but then the toy does come out and they want to be the first to review it and can't wait THEIR fanboy drool all over it... "ZOMFG! I luv this toy, it was made just for me!!! everyone else hates Yamato! Macrossworld sux again"

ah, ok... well. Less about news credit and back to Master File discussions. I don't think we're as obsessive here about news credit anyway, even though we try.

I think we pretty much covered it before when we talked but, yeah, doing a detailed modeled like this could be impossible at a small scale. You'd have to have 3D as your primary goal when designing, but the beauty of this project lies in the fact that this is how the components would fit together in the real world. Printing at a large scale like 1:10 would cost you closer into the hundred thousands. There's a point where some parts will be too big for a 3D printer and you'd have to get into CNC routers using renshape or really dense foam that would need molds made out of. Where I work we always compare the price of one prop to a luxury or sports car and something like the parts you've already rendered would probably be a C Class Mercedes with a few options.

Maybe it's just not in the budget to have to pay for a separate license. Acquiring one could send the price of an already expensive toy thru the roof.

That movie was pretty bad. I don't see how a short could prove that it can be done better the second time around. I actually like Ray Stevenson as the Punisher, but that movie sucked too. They pretty much ruined that franchise. If you guys want to see a good dark violent action, you should find Mel Gibson's new movie Get The Gringo. It was never released in theatres but it's out there. Maybe they should get that director the Punisher's reboot.

I agree, but at the same time I think it'll be too much to ask for. Things never work out when it makes too much sense.Or at least release the option parts on their own.
